Chapter 42: Letting Them In

"Have you given any thought as to how we're going to go about keeping our girls safe?" Quentin asked as he helped Ryan clear the table.

"Of course I have. Tomorrow I'll call the number that Sam and Paul gave us. They said that the company mostly employs ex-military or ex-police officers. I like the idea that they know how to protect people," Ryan answered.

"I do as well. But I hate the idea of feeling like I'm having to ask if something is okay for me to do," Quentin admitted with a groan.

Ryan chuckled. "I know. I've heard that for years. But this is the best way to make sure Natalie and Nyrissa are safe. That is more important than a mild inconvenience."

"Absolutely. I think maybe one of us needs to stay with the girls," Quentin proposed.

"Agreed. But we also have to admit that we can't be with Natalie and Nyrissa all the time. Especially when Natalie finally goes to school," Ryan warned him.
