Jonie is crushing on you.. Layla

     Someone was standing on his bed, a person completely unlike anyone Dela had ever met. In the predawn light, his features were unclear. He was simply a presence of darker blue than the sky behind him. But there was about him a scent of wood smoke and new leaves and the honey of far-off, unseen flowers. The person pointed at Dela and said

     " You"

The boy woke up at once. The first rays of dawn were sliding over the garden wall, and the window was empty.  "What a strange dream". Thought Dela.  He pulled the sheet over his head as he tried to remember it better. The image faded away, leaving a strange sense that something important was about to happen.

     Their camping was over and they had all returned home. But they still have some more time to spend in the house. Dela woke up with a very uneasy headache just by him thinking of the dream he just had.  Dela went into his bathroom and had his teeth clean then he went downstairs to take in his breakfast before taking his shower for he was feeling Soo hungry when he woke up.

    Dela was having a little brother who was called David. He was only seven years and Dela was thirteen years old.

  " Did you sleep well"? He told his little brother.

    Honestly, Dela has forgotten to tell everyone that he was having a little brother for he was brought to Ghana just two days ago.

  ( Was he the one my mother was talking about that she has a surprise for me). He thought while staring at his little brother.

       When he came yesterday night he couldn't even see him well for he was very tired of all the troubles Layla cause him.

David, Dela's little brother, sat up and answered,

  " I had a great night, how about you". His words were Soo hash that if you don't bend over your ears you won't hear what he was saying.

  " Ooh I'm fine bro..so what's up".  He said trying to build a conversation with his little brother.

   " I'm good bro.. away how have you been, mom told me that you are my big brother is that soo"

     " Yes dear I'm your big bro..and a superstar too"

    " Of course, mom has been showing me some of your videos and pictures when I came "

  " Yh you have a wonderful brother right ".

" Yh and you are kind of cute..your eyes are white very pure and your eyes balls are kind of gold I guess ". His brother begins to tell him what he looks like. Yh that was what everyone says about him. Some were like he looks like an angel, some were like a merman and a whole lot.

    " Bro do you know that I have been used to how people talk about my handsomeness, so if you are also saying the same then that is it I guess". They both laugh.  Their mother came in with their breakfast of hot tea with toasted bread and some fried eggs.

( My dear I'm sorry for not telling you that you have a little brother somewhere, actually, it was a surprise for you have always wanted a brother. I'm sorry I couldn't let you see his childhood life but I think this will be okay for you...I will explain everything to you later). Her mother thought to herself while she helped them with their food.

  " Mom I will like to go and show David to one of my friends this afternoon please". Dela said with his cute face that no one can stand on it to let him stop what he want to do.  His mother gives him just by watching his cute face.

   " Okay, my dear but promise to come back early". He nods his head and gave his mother a high five. Then they all ate in silence.

  Layla was still laying on her bed with her bedsheet on the floor while her legs were spread on the bed as if she was giving birth. Her mother had been to her room to wake her up but she didn't even get bothered about how her mother was knocking on her door.

   The sun rays were shining directly on her face but still, she chose to sleep. She was still sleeping even when the sun's rays were on her face. It was half past 11 and she was still in bed. Lucky for her, dad was not at home and she wasn't going to school to. So she has gotten all the chance she has been wanting for soo long.

Because her mother was a soft-hearted woman and she won't do anything. But for her dad, she will have been awake a long time and was done with her house chores which her parents have assigned her to do every morning. And because of that, she didn't want to wake up that morning just to do that although she liked doing it.

"Hey, Layla if you don't wake up and I get to your room you won't like it". She heard in her dreams as her father was shouting at her to wake up. She quickly got up from her bed and stood on her feet as if someone was hunting her. (Where did my dad go). She thought and look around her but there was no one there.

"Oooh..so it was a dream".  She took her bedsheet from the floor and put it back on the bed. Then she went to the bathroom to take her shower. 

Just then she heard a knock on her door.

"Who is there.. please come in". The person opened the door quietly and went in without saying anything.

"Who is there...". She kept on shouting who was there, but no one answered since she was in the bathroom she couldn't see who was there. after she finish bathing, she came out just to meet Dela sitting with his back on her reading a book from her stocks of books on the shelves.

  (Ooh my goodness what is he doing in my room ). She decided to take her clothes and go back to the bathroom to dress.  Unfortunately for her, Dela caught her just in her steps to run away.

  "Hi Good morning"

"Fine morning... ahh, what are you doing in my room ". She asked with a sour face.

   "Ooh I came to wake you up"

"What...you mean you came all the way to just wake me up"

   "Why will I do such nonsense..uh..I should take a car just to come and wake you up..why I don't have anything important doing or what" He said and put the book back on the shelves.

   "I will be downstairs so when you are done come ".  He went out and close the door behind him.

    "What with him this morning...bra..bra .bra..bra .bra.". She hissed then got herself well dress and went downstairs to have her breakfast.

   "So you have finally decided to wake up". Her maid said when she saw her descending the staircase.

   "Haha...I was a little bit tired yesterday.. anyway where is my mom".  She asked looking around her, then her eyes caught someone she haven't seen before

   "Who is this young little cute boy". She asked

"He is my little brother ". Dela said while sipping coffee which was brought by the maid when they came.

"Little what...but you never told me ". She said with a surprised face.

"Why are you looking at me like that. I never knew I had a little brother "

  "Wait wait I'm not getting it..you don't even know that you have a little brother "

  "Yh I will explain everything later okay..so stop asking questions from your curious mind"

  "Okay if you say soo...aah where is my mom "

"She went to work this morning,"  the maid said while pouring a hot tea into a cup for her.

  "Okay..wait ". She stopped her from pouring too much tea.

  "The tea is okay, and by the way who made the tea". She said pointing at the cup of tea in front of her with her still sleeping face.

  "Your mom made it this morning before going ". The maid said with a smile and left them.

  "So tell me how you got a little brother just today".

   "He just arrived in Ghana just two days ago before we came back from the camping trip "

" Ooh okay so he wasn't even in Ghana I guess "

" Yh he has been in the state for his whole life"

  " Okay "

" Hi .. what is your name ". Layla asks the little boy who seems to be out of what they were talking about.

  " I'm called David ".

" Nice name David "

    " Anyway are you, Layla". He said looking at her with a kind of suspicious look.

   " Yh I am but why are you looking at me like that".   

   "You cute that's all". He said and grab all the tea at a goal.

  "So will you mind if I play games on your TV ". David asked.

   "Sure little buddy tells the maid, she will arrange it for you..".

    He quickly went down on his chair to look for the maid.

   " So tell me why did you come to visit me ". Layla said with a bold smile.

    "Ooh, I just came to introduce my little brother to you*. Dela replied, staring at where his brother just went to.

   "Are you sure he is not going to destroy your TV remote"? Dela said looking at how his brother was holding the TV remote.

   "I'm sure he won't"

"How sure are you"

   " I don't think he is stubborn like you ".

"Ooh really...".

"mmmm"

They talk for a while before Layla asks him out into their beautiful garden which was just behind their house. 

    "Wow I never knew there was something beautiful like this in your house...wow this is cool.. anyway I also have some in my house "

   " I guess is cool then.. okay if you don't mind can we go and sit down over there ". She pointed to a middle-height mango tree which was at the east end of the garden. They took their seat and begin to talk about funny things. It was like a normal thing to them as they talk and laugh.

   "Anyway, I think your best friend Jonie is interested in you". Dela brought up a topic.

  "What are you trying to say"

"Ooh what am I trying to say.."

    "Yh for I truly know him"

"Hahaha, you truly know who..him.  then I think you are mistaking for I know him better than you do and I know him before you know him"

   "Okay if you are truly sure of what you are saying then how did you know that "

  "I have been his friend for a long and besides he is a boy and I'm also a boy so probably I know "

  "But that doesn't prove anything "

"Okay if you don't believe me then text him and tell him that Dela has come to your place and see his reaction..if he says he will be here now, then is true but if he just says okay then I think I was mistaken ". He said and smirked then took another long look around the garden.

"Are you sure of this ". Layla said while she was texting Jonie.

  "Sure". He said with a smile that show the deep dimples on his left cheek. Layla loves seeing the dimples soo deep on his cheeks.

  Layla texts Jonie (hey what's up everything cool..)

  And Jonie also replied her saying (cool movement..what is going on after the camping). 

   (Well everything is normal.. anyway I'm with Dela in my house right now.. everything is boring so we are just having some small talk )  She finally told him what she wanted to tell him.

  When Jonie read the message she just sent him, he became annoyed with that so he quickly text her back without thinking twice about what he was about to type, he just typed (What the hell is he doing there, anyway I'm coming there right away).

   Layla was surprised to see that wants Dela just told her was true. So her true friend was having a crush on her.  Wasn't she too young as they always say to tease her then what has happened now?

  She quietly replied to him that he shouldn't bother himself for Dela was about to go.

   (Are you sure )  He text her back and she said it was okay.

   "So who won". Dela said with his already laughing face.

   "You won". Layla said with a surprised face. She never thought something like that will ever happen. And lo and behold it was true her friend was crushing on her.
