A Stormy Battle

Edward and his crew had successfully defeated the incoming enemy in a bloody battle. The enemy ships were now under Edward's control, and he was free to do whatever he wanted with them, maybe make them a part of his fleet.

"Well, take whatever is useful on this ship and sink the ships with the rest of it."

Edward decided to Take everything functional and sink the rest. Even the large ships, which gave him a lot of trouble. Nobody from Edward's crew objected, but the British weren't happy.

"Why the hell would you sink them? Take them under your control!!"

That is a logical reason, and Edward had already thought of it.

"Did you take a good look at the weather today? A storm is approaching us. I don't want to use ships we have zero experience sailing with and take them right into a battle against port while a storm is lurking around."

"Then we are taking control here, these ships will be sent back to Brittannia's soil for our future use."

Edward gave an intent look at the British soldier talking to him,

"Well, you are free to take them. Let's see if your men could survive that."

Edward approved the ships to be set back instead of sinking them.

The dark clouds gradually covered the sky, and the wind speed raised. The battle for the fortress was now not so simple.

Between the roaring waves, Edward decided to attack the fortress.

"All the ships rush to surround the fort!!"

Edward had taken a good look at the fortress's defence and weaknesses. Each of his men trusted his intuition.

The fortress was a massive marble with three sides covered by water and one side backed by the hill. It was so rocky and steep that it was only possible for some special to go through, which Edward was.

"Destroy the left towers and land the troops there. We need to capture it soon as possible the storm is worse than we thought."

The ships emerged to the fortress's defence from the back of the hill, sailing in the wind with an astonishing speed, quickly covering the front and getting ready to fire.

"Start the attack!!!!"

Edward fired a red flare yet again. The burst was so huge that it could be easily seen in the dark sky.

The ships fired at the same time at the fort's defences to weaken and quickly break through the defences but,

"The fort is unscratched, that the hell! Which type of stone they are using?!"

"Keep firing-"

The ship was instantly rained done by three volleys of concentrated fire rounds,

"- they have 3 round mortars?! It seems the battle isn't that easy."

"What should we do?"

A scared British soldier begged Edward for an answer.

"If you want to live then, give me your life."

"What?"

"Do what I say, risk your life on my words, and I'll make sure you get of here alive."

"...."

"Ask one of the ships to evacuate and light all the explosives and ram them into the right towers of the fortress."

"What, why?!"

"You can't see, but the dock area is on fire already. We must make an entryway by crushing a part of the fortress."

"Even if we break it, there isn't enough space for more than 1 ship to be placed."

"This ship will enter the fort, and my men can easily win this fort. Go into the cabin and send a morse code to your ships."

"Wait, you have morse code?"

"Sent the damn code already!!!"

Edward got annoyed and pushed him, and he ran to send the code while Edward looked through his spyglass at the area where the mortar was placed.

"Oh god! They are aiming at us directly. We need to move quickly. Run your hands and set the sails."

Edward charged his gun directly at the mortar area and shot a bright white flare. The blast alerted all the ships, which turned towards the tower and started to attack the pillar to buy time.

A ship right side of Edward's ship didn't fire a shoot, and men ran to jump off the boat, except for the ship captain. Showing the signal was sent and the end was near.

The ships had set it and moved right at the left tower of the wall.

A blast was heard throughout the area. The ship had rammed into the left towers and blasted off the building, which opened enough space for a boat to land in the fortress.

Edward rushed his ship towards the opened area and landed his boat there.

The men picked up their swords and pistols, and Edward got ready to finally take over the fort.

The enthusiasm and rage was what made the pirates, the figures they were, the power to bring the enemy before they have a chance

"BRING ME THE HEAD OF THE FORT CAPTIAN."

"YEAHHHHH."
