The Night of Light and Death

That night, Yuuka moved his forces towards the back gate of the castle. He went against the advice of the voice moving at a high distance from the fort's walls the soldiers marched.

Vincent was a little troubled looking at Yuuka, who moved ahead of all the forces, and Levi was lying on a horse. Yuuka didn't reveal that he had adequately regained consciousness.

"Sir, will this plan work? I am not sure about all this. The odds are too low."

"Vicent, we are bidding on their desperation here. They sure are under great pressure after we caught their Supply carriages. They will surely go for it and fail."

Vincent nodded his head, kept moving forward, and looked towards the castle, where he saw a bright light.

"Huh..."

The bright light was tiny, but it rose in the sky and soon became bigger and bigger and came closer and closer and causing Vincent to realise,

"Enemy arrow attack!!! Run!!!!"

An arrow with its head lit on fire streaked near Vincent's feet, causing the nearby grass to burn.

"Move Faster!!!

They are planning to burn us here."

The distance between the fort and the moving army was apparently not enough to keep them out of Arrow's range; now, they are attacked by the enemy in the open.

Yuuka started running forward and planned to move with his soldier instead of getting on the horse.

Running forward, he saw an explosive flame rise behind him, the heat sending shivers down his spine as he looked back at the soldiers who shouted in agony.

"Ahhhh... Save me!!!!"

"Help me!!! Ahhh..."

Their cries went unheard as no one would come to help them as they ran forward to protect their own lives.

The attack rained brutality and despair on their hearts with the painful death of their comrades.

"We can't retreat now, and we can't move to the left or the right. Our only choice is moving forward! Damn it."

That was right. Their decision to burn the forest finally bit them back as it sealed their path of retreat.

The left was burned forest, which was just scorched due to Yuuka's prior decision, was still hot and wasn't a place one could stay for more than 5 minutes. On the right was the poisonous soil, which was filled with disease, one soldier catching any deadly and contiguous illness that could lead to the fall of the whole army.

The path they had just cleared was now blocked by the flame, and they could only hope to reach the end of the road to spread away from the castle.

Yuuka quickly deduced the next step of action from the enemy,

"They will burn the area right; we are heading for the push forward as hard as you can."

The plan seemed simple yet very deadly. It had so much to it.

Yuuka began to think about his thoughts and understood the true power of this attack,

"If the soldier is burning, they would leave behind anything that holds them back, any artillery, gun and any sort of food and water, everything to run away from the fear of burning themselves."

Yuuka kept these thoughts to himself.

Telling anyone to save guns and carry cannons instead of protecting their lives was something he just couldn't say from his mouth.

"How did they know we were moving backwards or did anyone inform them about this?!"

Within the shower to fire arrows, running beside his soldiers, Yuuka had not given up nor feared anything. He just thought about "how did the enemy know?"

Arthur sat in an unknown location far away, in a room with proper burning torches, seeing the burning flames with this spyglass and stood beside him a lady.

"Arthur, you shouldn't play both sides. First helping Asphodel and now selling them to Lynx. Are you sure it is worth it?"

She spoke in a deep voice and Arthur gave her a smirky look at her words.

"I know it will work in our favour. Besides they refused to accept my advice so they need to pay."

The lady didn't have a proper reaction, her face had a poker expression.

"Also, look at the flames they are just like your eyes."

Arthur passed the spyglass to the lady,

as she removed her cloak from her head it showed her beautiful dark-skinned face with yellow eyes and black hair.

As she looked at the flames, her eyes resonated and shinned with the flames looking even more beautiful and intriguing.

"I quite like it."

She gave him a smile too and passed his spyglass back and form which he looked at the burning grounds again.

"You either obey me or you die.I wish that Apsholdel's commander knew any of that...

I guess we need to kill the queen ourselves tomorrow."

A/n: The novel gets a new cover soon and I'll try to change the synopsis the current seems to work but it feels kind of bland.
