The Ones Who Walk In the Shadows

Arthur had played on both sides. He first supplied information to Asphodel about Lynx's action. Still, when they disobeyed his order, he informed Lynx about Yuuka's possible action through a secret note.

He played both sides and chose the one that suited him.

The same night after watching Yuuka's army burn, he put on his cloak and got ready to exit the room.

The lady pushed a book into a small bookshelf lying on the side, and it opened a gate on the other side of the room.

Arthur got up and looked through the entrance as the blowing mind removed his face mask.

"This sure is crazy to build, I wonder what the King had in mind while asking to build this one? Our capital is far smaller than any kingdom's capital I;ve ever seen but the castle is built ever so larger it is stupid."

The two looked out as they saw themselves at the top at the highest point in the capital; the top of the watchtower looked in the southwestern part of the castle.

"Did you know? It was a big mystery why was this thing built so big in comparison to the other watchertowers."

"I already know that the royalty said that this portion of the tower was the most vulnerable so it needed to be the highest."

"Amazing, as expected from our bookworm Asuka!"

"Shut up! Or I'll throw you from here."

"Well, please do. I am going to jump anyway. So, I'll be glad if a woman were to do so."

"I am done with this!"

Saying this, Asuka jumped out from the top and flew through the window.

"Ohh!"

Arthur looked as she fell. She leaned forward, winding her body and setting herself in a proper position.

To another person, she would like a dancer performing a beautiful show moving through the wind, genuinely graceful and perfect with her technique.

"Ok."

As she fell into a deep haystack filled with water-filled sacks and different objects to prevent death by falling from his high,

Asuka didn't have a single scratch on her body.

Arthur soon followed her down, and both took a good look at the night-filled capital swarming with people running happily after their successful assault on the enemy.

Arthur and Asuka didn't pay any attention to the people instantly started moving along the walls jumping from wall hangings to different pillars, climbing walls and hiding from soldiers. They reached a sewer pipe entrance, even lowering down to the streets and passing through a narrow road.

"We had to do so much for your "hot and bright" view. It was a pain getting here from that room."

"Don't talk to me like that you also enjoyed the view right."

Asuka didn't have any reply and moved forward into the sewer pipe. They went in without any torch and relied on her sense to find the direction,

which was a relatively straightforward take for them. Their years of practice and hard work made them capable of doing what ordinary people could only imagine doing.

They reached their location, a room with a dark atmosphere, a single-lit lamp and three people sitting, two wearing white cloaks, one of them sitting on a chest-like seat and the other on top of the bookshelf. and one wearing a red cloak.

"…"

The moment of silently relied upon that a feeling of anger and impatience had swarmed the three.

"Come on! I had to see it! Why get so angry? Especially you, Jinx!"

The man wearing the red cloak who was sharpening his knives stooped in his work and moved towards Arthur.

In the presence of the Lamp, his face became slightly visible,

He had sharp eyes, a rectangular face, red hair and velvet eyes that gave off fear to those who looked at them. Keeping his gaze on Arthur, he spoke in a stern tone.

"You are too big of a self-entertainer, Arthur. We need to focus to doing one thing but you always do and mess things in your own way."

The words were veiled criticisms of Arthur's actions, he first planned to use Asphodel to get to the queen and then eliminate Asphodel by killing their leader. Still, his reckless action forced the assassins to find and kill the queen themselves.

"Don't worry, I think it won't be hard to find the queen. She must be hiding somewhere in this area."

To Arthur's silly excuse, Jinx told him about the situation.

"Albert and Kite are still finding her in the castle, she is nowhere to be found. We need to get out and help them."

"…"

Arthur gave no response, and Jinx looked away from him, wearing his red cloak on his head.

"Come on, Asuka, Rage, Arthur and Near. We need to kill her within the next two days."

He said that as he opened the door of the room. It opened, and Asuka came out of the room and looked at the massive challenge in front of them.

The large and tall made-out unique black stones from foreign nations and white marble which contrasted true beauty in the day but,

now it was objective to find the queen in the vast castle of the capital of Ethereo.
