One For All

"Commander, Milize!"

Milize was arranging the soldiers and giving orders when a familiar voice called her out.

Anju was approaching her, and she seemed really concerned and tense, with footsteps being irregularly fast, as if she was feeling anxious.

"What happened? You look really tense."

Anju stood in her position and looked around to make sure nobody else is able to listen her.

"Enemy soldiers are hiding here."

"!!"

Milize eyes rose in surprise. She did not anticipate the entry of more outside influence into the battle,

"Who do you Know?"

"It was two soldiers, they went to open the gate because the one who was standing there was missing. They noticed the fresh marks of blood on the tower."

"Fresh blood?..."

"Yes, the carriage carriers, are missing too. It confirms about there are enemies hiding."

Milize heard the situation carefully and made up her evaluation of the enemy,

"It seems they are low in numbers, two to four at maximum but they are highly skilled to not get caught. It also means that they are here from the capital not, the destroyed ships."

Anju heard her words carefully, but she had evaluated that much herself. Now what do next was her question.

"Alert, everybody but does not anyone move, all hold their positions. They cannot get deep inside our position, even if they are present. All we have to do is play secure and stall the position out."

" This is not a good idea."

Anju passed on her suggestion to Milize; it seems she found some flaws with Milize ideas.

"The enemy killed the watchtower soldiers, which means they have long-range rifles from the dead soldiers."

"Shit."

Milize had forgotten that now the darkness on the port was illuminated by burning oil and ship, an enemy could use a long-range weapon even in the storm.

The big problem was that with the number of soldiers in the port, it was easy to target anybody in such an open area, so the longer they were hiding, the more time they had to figure out how to target.

"So. we need to lure them out as soon as possible."

Anju nodded in agreement,

"No, the fix of the problem lies in my plans. they didn't surrender after they got the ship destroyed without us doing anything but, we will. Enough rest for everybody, get the cannons and fire at the enemy. It's time to take them down completely."

Milize was planning on going all-out aggressive in her style, making sure to destroy the Iron fortress of ships built by Asphodel, destroy the fortress, and victory was in their hands.

While Milize planned to end the battle with a smile, she controlled everything. Each attack from the enemy was absorbed, and she struck harder each time.

She brought the king's piece lying in her pocket, the past matches with Yuuka on the board, where she lost was the past, but on the battlefield where it mattered, she is winning.

"This chess match is my victory."

The chess game was at its end, Milize had played all her moves, and now it was Asphodel's turn.

On Asphodel's sides, things were not smooth and well looking. Maya, the leader of the Attacking ships, had suffered a massive loss in psychological and physical ways.

Maya had lined up his ships behind the massive guarding ships. He and his men were dismayed, and he could no longer smile and give orders to attack.

"They possibly have lined up the entire port with, barrels like that. Even if we go close, the barrels are going to blow us away."

Asphodel's ships were losing; they couldn't hold their position in the storm. The waves were getting bigger and pushing them forward. It was not long before, waves of destructive power would begin approaching them.

Even their large ships couldn't stop the force of nature from acting on them. Maya faced a challenging situation; doing anything was wrong for him, but he needed to push forward anyway.

"Everybody, get to work. Put off the sails and connect the boats with ropes. The entire system shouldn't be separated."

The men nodded, and the message traveled across ships. Soldiers began tying ropes across ships and making the smaller ships more relaxed against bigger waves strikes.

"The soldier, who are not tying the ships, fill up the cannons. We need to keep firing. We will destroy their barrels for far away and wait for the right moment to attack."

Maya valiantly gave the orders, but even if they got through the barrels, is not possible for them to get across the raging fires, or so he thought.

"We need to keep fighting. There is no turning back. My comrades have been fighting there. I need to keep fighting. I will not dishonor my comrades's deaths."

Maya was not going to surrender in this position. His surrender is accepting loss for Asphodel. As a soldier, that would be the ultimate disgrace for him.

"Are the cannons ready yet?!"

"Yes, Sir!"

"Fire them!!"

The volley of cannons once again began from the ships trying to crush the defense of the port while also getting rid of as many explosive barrels as possible.

"What?!"

Suddenly, Maya felt the ships around him shake at an extremely high rate as if a big wave had just struck him from behind. The ships in front of him shook even more violently while the other ships remained stationary.

"What is happening?!"

"Sir, the enemy had brought their cannons to the forefront. They are concentrating all the fire on the a single ship, alone."
