A Day of Relief.

As Edward and Thomas drove through the grassland, Edward's mind was filled with doubt about the situation. The circle of unpredictability surrounded the events to occur.

"Where are we heading, I can't understand why are they organising a protest in such a distant and unattractive area, what is the merit to it?"

Edward wondered about the location of the protest. Thomas and he had been travelling on barren grassland for a while, what reason could bring the march in such an area?

"Area? We are heading to the city of Yumemar. That is the location of the country's second-biggest church and the nation's biggest drama stage. The 'protest' we are heading to is a drama against the action that occurred during the Devil's reign."

"I am tired of these misunderstandings, wasn't the protest against raising taxes against the government? At least that's what Royas told me."

"I don't know. From what I've heard, the drama condemns the actions of the rulers during the Devil's reign. Royas knows big secrets, how it might be a scheme to get a larger audience to join the protest and the main point is the regional lord is joining the protest."

Edward evaluates the rest himself and as the dots connect themselves.

"If The lord gets killed, sympathy will fall into the church's hands since he is allied with them. The church's head will get more power and might even get a good diplomatic position. It is all carefully woven."

"Well, you know more than me about what is going on, I help you out on the job that's all I know. I am there when you need me for work."

And the car kept moving in the hot burning sun.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun was off to the horizon, and Edward and Thomas were still driving to their destination. The vehicle already had numerous refuels and the city of Yumemar was here.

As the walls of the city came into the vision of the car's front window, the beauty of the town shinned in Edwards's eyes.

"Wow!, This looks far better than the capital city."

The sun's light reflected on the silver walls which were ingrained with the five stars symbols on its walls. A large white building with a well on its top was visible from afar.

"This city is far more interesting than you think Edward. It is beautiful on the outside but ugly inside. Welcome to the city where Dreams are bought and lives are sold."

As the car crossed over the bent bridge going over a long canal, Edward looked down at the deep water running under the bridge. The canal's water was as deep as Lucius's residence.

The sunlight barely reached the water under the bridge. Still, the water which received light reflected it ultimately and shone bright due to its clarity.

"It's so packed in here."

As Thomas said this, Edward shifted his attention from the water to the sheer number of people standing before his eyes along the enormous city walls.

The crowd of people roaming around the city gate was unreal, the car could barely move 100m without running into the group. The city outskirts were decorated with poles and wire tied with strips of multiple colours.

Men, women children all alike wearing different dresses roamed the area with delightful smiles. At the same time, in a corner, a group of clergymen raised black fags In the sky.

The wording," My God punish the ones who sided with the Devil." The cross's embellishment lay beside them, showing a clean contrast of the message of good and evil.

Edward observed the crowd but focused more on the top of 25 meters walls as he scanned for the number of archers and foot soldiers on the city's defences.

As they finally moved to the edge of the city walls away from the forming crowds the vehicles finally parked and both exited.

"Thomas. What is the profile of this town? I don't see a single archer on the top of the wall and there is barely any security on the ground. Isn't the lord coming today?"

"You have yet to learn the place of the play, Edward. It would be brimming with soldiers as off right now. About the city itself, I did not expect anything else. It doesn't change. The lawless city is still as it was."

"The lawless city?"

"I don't have time to explain about the city right now, Let's get our asses to the Drama stage first. We need to make sure there isn't a trap set already. It'll be faster to walk around the city than through it."

Edward agreed that moving inside with a tremendous crowd blocking their path would be challenging. The two moved into the location where the play would pass to events, and the drama would engulf the town.

The duo soon reached and moved through the crowds which surrounded all the entry gates of the town, Edward observed as for each entry gate there was a bridge over the canal.

The canal's width was quite long as if it separated the land of Brittania and the city from each other, and the bridge barely held them over.

"I guess we are going to reach it."

Thomas pointed at the place in front of them filled with Brittania's soldiers and wooden barricades around the area. Along which chain fencing, they were surrounded by many people who came to them and went away.

"They seem to block the entry to the inside area. I think Royas was quite in favour of protecting him. He won't set up such high security for him if he wanted him dead." said Edward.

The two finally reached the groups of soldiers pushing aside people who surrounded and faced the inspector guarding the barricades as he stopped the two from moving inside.

"Good day, Gentleman. Why the rush? Why are we not allowed to enter the area? We would also like to enjoy the play."

"The play will happen tomorrow. Come back then."

The soldier blew away Edward and Thomas's expectations in a single second.
