Past Forgotten.

Henry shuffled his pockets trying to find something, while Isabella looked at her in this curiousness and disparity of thought. Did Mother Elana lie to her?

"Damn! I lost the letter. I think I dropped it somewhere. I wish you did get to read it so that you would know the truth too but guess, I'll tell you from what I know."

Henry pressed his chest and closed his eyes as if trying to imagine the scene himself in the words he once read and someone else had confirmed. Then he began speaking.

"The mob which attacked the city did not destroy it completely. It was a violent attack, but the streets got so rushed that people were crushing each other in stampedes. As It was before even one-third of the city came to their wave, people were being thrown out of the city by the military. I think your home was in one-third of the city. I have to say, your luck goes quite back."

My luck! What the hell does he mean by this?! What happened?

Isabella was growing even more annoyed by Henry's wordplay and concise rambling of the situation, but she did not interrupt him.

" One the first day, I think you remember when we last talked, I was out of the city with my father at the time. I was at the school in the nearest town, trying to negotiate my school fees with the teachers-"

"-There were preparations to drag back the maximum number of people into the city, the soldiers came to the school too, but my father hid me and got himself caught to save me. I was locked inside the storage room of the school all alone for the next three days, it was dark when I was inside, and only sunlight was from the cracks on the rooftops. I got a tap there and did everything to get out, a teacher opened the door to let me out. It took 4 days to recover and reach the town with the help of my teacher, but it was long over before I came. The city was burned to the ground."

Hearing all of this Isabella had a feeling of sadness grow inside of her, Henry had experienced his pain differently and was another side of her, her mind had other intrusive thoughts too.

Can't he just get to the point, and tell me what happened?

"The military under the influence of a certain advisor was asked to finish the immigrant population instead of taking any slaves or prisoners. All-out extermination of the people. Roman Roger did have his plans for doing so, first was the plan of just cutting down and shooting down people. But the soldiers were unable to keep cutting people who could do nothing to retaliate."

"So, he thought of another simple idea, he had nearly all the men he found including all the elders of the city. Torn away from the hands of their Wives, sons and daughters, they were tied to ships with ropes and intestines of the dead. They were then lit in flames and thrown in the ocean, because of the air and winds of the sea, the ship would sink, and every person on those ships either died by drowning or by the fire."

"..."

A horror was unleashed upon Isabella, for a second, she thought her father was lucky to die in a moment not ripped away from her and killed but it was not over as the children and the women had yet to have their fate.

"Isabella, do you remember the large cathedral at the centre of the city? The one with a beautiful chandelier handing on the top."

The cathedral and chandelier were a work of art capable of accommodating up to three thousand people at its best without many issues. It was surely the centre of worship after the demon's reign, Isabella did not forget it. She gave a nod saying yes.

"On the second day, All the women and children, all of them. Alive or dead if found were thrown into the cathedral. It was filled to the brim from all sides, while the windows were sealed using metal bars. Not enough air to breathe for anyone, everyone in the cathedral was in fear and then the door was closed shut."

"..?!"

Not a drop of water, no traces of food, minimal air of breath in a scuffed building, barely any sunlight would fall on the people who saw the door closing upon them, such was their fate. Why? Maybe because they were born into it.

"I don't know how many entered those gates on that day, but from the moment the door closed. The children began to cry, noises all over the cathedral and soon air became thin and difficult to breathe after that came the wave of hunger and despair, how long would the door be closed? They did not know. All they would do was wait for Messiah to come and save them but no one did."

Isabella knew in her heart that it was about a get a lot worse,

"And soon, what was feared happened. No food and no water, for two days the kids began to die due to starvation and suffocation and soon, blood began spilling too. It was unknown but, a person bit another for food and then the next did the other, there was no control only chaos and it was the second day only yet."

"Soon the smell of blood began spreading across, kids began eating each other and so did the mother, of course, they lost their minds to the noises and screams. The doors in all their scrams did not open and the massacre continued for two more days. In that place."

For a second Henry took a pause, he had looked sideways or closed his eyes still now but now his eyes looked at her and tears were common to both.

"Why...? Would anyone ever do this?"

Isabella did not know if her mother was inside that place at that time, did she get eaten alive by someone, it must have been because she never came back for her.

"For four days, the gates remained closed, the cries and screams of the people never stopped, and the army had already left on the fifth day. On the sixth day, a few near-town people came to our town and opened the gates of the cathedral-"

"From the thousands of children and women entrapped there, only two boys, one girl and one woman came out alive, covered in red and smelling of corpses. The boys were rescued while the woman ran away somewhere nobody noes and do you know that was the most interesting part, there was not a single mention of this part of the whole incident, no person ever wrote a single thing about it. No one, no soldiers ever confessed their guilt. The massacre at the cathedral has been erased from our world like it never happened."

A sense of soaring rage was exploding inside Isabella, her urge to kill and destroy people's lives was increasing but there was one irregularity in her mind,

"Henry, how do you know all of this? You never saw with your eyes, how do you know in which it happened was it the letter. you were talking about? How sent you the letter?"

Henry smiled,

"The letter was sent to me by a special person, he asked me to read that letter to my brother-"

"- read it to your brother? It means..."

"Yes, my brother one of the two boys who came out from the cathedral and it was the second who came out who sent me this letter-"

*BOOM BOOM

" What the hell??!..." explosions noises came bursting into their ears, hurting their heads as they covered them to protect their heads.

The explosion chained multiple times, shockwaves shook the bricks of the barrack and the metal protection began to bend, it was all happening very close.

Soon, the explosions stopped chaining, Isabella's ears were still ringing from the noises but she slowly began taking hold of herself.

"You okay?" Henry came close to her and tried to comfort her by patting her back.

"What goddamn son of a devil! He bloody did it!"

"What are you talking about?! Is the second survivor the one you are working with?! What happened in the explosions right now?"

"Yes, I am working with him right now. He is the person who carved this situation into its place, even after you, Edward have tried to ruin it, he has still done it somehow. He still did what he promised. He just destroyed the Italians with this explosion, he has sealed the doors to the blood gate."

"Who is he? What is trying to do?!" Isabella needed the person's name, after all, who was the man that had been planning something so big? something so unpredictable?

"He is the bringer of justice to this nation. To the entire five-nation, he will be the one end unite them all in my eyes and his name is Arthur."
