Chapter 73 - Jackal Mountain Sect [3]-Sage's Cultivation: Mage in Cultivation World

Chapter 73 - Jackal Mountain Sect [3]

One of the personnel opened the capsule.

As it opened in half, the mist inside spread throughout the whole room, giving Ellisa a sense of nostalgia as well as the cold temperature from the capsule.

The mist slowly disappeared, revealing a familiar face in a sleeping face. When Ellisa was sure who it was, she smiled and caressed the face of the individual.

It was a brother of her from another kin. A vampire to be precise. But looking at him, she knew that something was wrong.

'Was it perhaps the effect of Master's words? Ureff doesn't drink human blood and because of it, he was in this state that makes his mana unstable.'

Ellisa's eyes were filled with worries. And as she assessed Ureff's condition, she gritted her teeth.

"What have you done to him?" she asked, but her voice was as if not calming for a question. It was enraged.

The personnel didn't answer. They were all just afraid of her, and their mouths were sealed because of it.

With no answer received, Ellisa swayed her hands once again. A magic circle was drawn, and she put her palm on Ureff's forehead.

[Rampage]

Abruptly, Ureff's eyes opened, static and frozen in his place. He didn't move at that point.

When every personnel saw it, they were as if statued for the second time. They felt the fear and the chills they felt when they were experimenting with Ureff's body before.

"Wake up, brother," Ellisa said with a smile.

Ureff's eyes followed her voice, stopping at her face. For the next few seconds, he smiled, showing his sharp fangs.

"Sister Ellisa…?" he pondered.

"Yes, Ureff. Are you thirsty?"

Ureff slowly caressed his throat before nodding.

"Yes, I am. How did you know?" he asked.

Ellisa just smiled without answering. Her face then turned to the personnel, and she smiled once again.

"Come and have a feast," she simply said.

"Can I?" Ureff asked, which Ellisa answered with only a nod. "Thank you."

Ureff immediately jumped off of the capsule and pounced on one of the personnel. Meanwhile, Ellisa was just silently enjoying watching the scene and didn't even budge at how wild Ureff was.

They all screamed. Fear and agony drowned their systems, and even though they wanted to fight back, there was as if a mysterious aura from Ureff made them feel that they couldn't fight back.

"He wasn't this strong before!" they cried.

Ureff grabbed the neck, twisted it, and chomped down the flesh of his target. When he was finally done with killing one, he moved to another and used the same tactic and patterns.

But even if it was repetitive like that, they couldn't do anything. Even if they fight back, Ellisa worries them.

Ureff was strong, but Ellisa was stronger and that's a fact that all the personnel knew even they just saw her once.

As Ureff feasted on them and satiated his thirst, he wiped down the blood that covers her mouth and faced Ellisa.

"Master won't be angry with this, right?" Ureff asked. However, the weak vampire before was different now. His stance was a bit more poised and classy.

"You never asked that question, Ureff," Ellisa said.

"Well, technically, I don't. But Master is my only will."

Ellisa scoffed after hearing Ureff's words. It was as if it was a joke for her, but Ureff was silently glaring at her with uncertainty.

"Enough with this. Did you also follow him?" Ureff asked.

"Yes. We both are stupid to use that legendary sword. We die normally but we still used it for some formal reason." Ellisa answered.

Ureff didn't reply immediately, he tried to assess the things he knew and things he doesn't know.

"How long have you been in this world?" he asked.

"So you knew? This isn't the afterlife that we were thinking of." Ellisa responded.

Ureff nodded then finished wiping off the blood. He sat on the capsule he was lying down earlier then replied.

"This world is different. There was an energy that felt strange to me. Even though I don't much use mana, I still know that this energy is different."

"Yes, but let me ask you, Ureff. How did these humans catch you? Even with how weak you were, vampires are naturally agile." Ellisa said.

It was bothering her since earlier. And as she inspected the area, she still doesn't know what kind of power these people from this world had.

"They have something called "array formations." Similar to magic circles, but different in structure and purpose, however." Ureff explained.

"So, it was like that. Perhaps you didn't know how to escape from those arrays, right?"

Ureff nodded to Ellisa's quesiton.

"I wasn't able to do much. And after it, the aura that was spilling from my body from the uncontrollable rampage in my blood got stronger. Well, if it was in our world, it would be dangerous for me to be like that. And I was thankful it happened because if not, you wouldn't find me."

"I didn't find you. I coincidentally noticed your energy and was bothered by it. You're still careless no matter how pure you are, vampire."

Ureff just snickered, then shook his head. He stood up, then took a robe from one side and wore it, enough to cover some of the blood on his body. However, it was still visible even with the dim light.

"Where were you going?" Ureff asked.

"On the way to some sect of a cultivator that I helped. I am thinking of studying this place so that I can easily find Master."

"I see… That's way better. But what is a cultivator?" he asked.

Ellisa sighed and then explained things to him. Even those things about spiritual energy and how she attained it, making another form of energy. When Ureff understood it, he revealed something else as well.

"That new form of energy, I think I got one from draining their life force." Ureff then pointed to the corpses of the personnel.

Ellisa hung up for a second then thought of it. She tried to assess and conclude things as their body have differnet systems working. And when she was finally sure what to say, she shared her thoughts.

"Perhaps taking it from them also includes the spiritual energy. Both of us were lucky to have weaker cores, but what about Master? He had a stronger core and if it happens, it might amok to try to eject that energy." Ellisa said.

"Master is a genius. He might have noticed that merging them is the best possible way, even it will weaken him since he have to seal some of his core." Ureff added.

Ellisa nodded then swayed her hand to draw a magic circle.

"That's reasonable. But let's continue the talk on the way, shall we? We have a friend waiting outside." Ellisa remarked.

"That cultivator you helped?" Ureff asked.

Ellisa nodded in agreement with his question.

And with it, Ureff followed Ellisa out of the pavilion. But just when they got out, there were already plenty of cultivators waiting.

There were approximately a thousand of them. Ranging from the Apprentice Stage to the General Stage, they all wore the same expression, fierceful.

When Ellisa and Ureff got out of the pavilion, they were surprised by the number of cutitvators, but not even once were they scared of them. Because now that Ureff had already drank human blood, his energy was at its peak and ready to use.

Also, Ellisa already had her energy reserved. Not that she wasn't confident that it will be useless, but she knew she doesn't need to use one.

'I activated a magic cricle earlier though.' Ellisa thought.

Confidently walking out of the pavilion, the cultivators pointed their weapons at them. Just the two of them versus a thousand cultivators.

Well, it was a sect, so it's reasonable why there were plenty of cultivators. However, there was still something lacking from them, and it was a leader.

"Surrender, trespassers! You are now an enemy of the Jackal Mountain Sect. If you try to resist, we will kill you. Both of you are criminals in the eyes of the sect!" One roared.

But Ellisa and Ureff were just static and expressionless despite the provocations.

Ureff faced Ellisa and said, "Should I kill all of them? There was the sun, but even though it might weaken me a bit, I can still win against them."

Ellisa shook her head, then calmly pointed at the sky.

"I already activated a spell earlier. It will be too bad for you if you don't move, though. Well, because I will be absorbing their energies."

Ureff widened his eyes as soon as he heard it. He already realized what was Ellisa's plan. And even if he was just okay with it since the cultivators will die, he wasn't good with the absorbing.

"Does that mean you won't be going to give me some?" he asked.

Their ideas matched. Because of the emergence of the new form of energy from mana and Qi, they knew that it was useful to contain.

"No… You can have some."

Then in the next seconds, a symbol was exposed in the skies, radiantly giving a golden light to the whole land of the sect.

Chapter 74 - Jackal Mountain Sect [4]

They all looked at the sky with uncertainty, unsure of what would happen as the magic circle radiantly gave them gold light. Just when they thought of what to do next, Ellisa smiled, then gestured, putting down her hand violently.

In the next second, the magic circle lit more brilliantly, and as the cultivators below it panicked about what was happening, some of them collapsed.

Ellisa is also an expert in draining powers, life force, and essence. Not just good at magical medicine, but also at killing with no touch of blood.

Ellisa looked at Ureff with a closed-eyes smile.

"Well then, shall you do the honor of cleaning?"

Ureff just grinned after receiving the go-signal from Ellisa. And as he excitedly wanted to drain these humans' blood, he pounced on each of them.

The cultivators were powerless. Ureff moved swiftly, unable to wait for them to follow. And as Ureff passed through each of them, those that didn't collapse in the second the magic circle became brilliant, those people died.

Blood splattered as Ureff pierced their necks with his finger. He also appeared out of nowhere at their backs, chomping down on them with his fangs.

Ureff felt the joy in this rampage. Even though his master unable him from drinking human blood and even forbids him from doing it, he doesn't have another choice. He must survive in this instant, and living peacefully isn't enough since he was weakened.

He was trying to regain his previous power. Even with only the speed, it was enough. But even so, he felt that it would be alright if he did it. This isn't their world, after all. And also, these people before him did something wrong to him. He could've just thought of it as revenge.

The number of cultivators dropped to hundreds from thousands. As the remaining number tried to resist, they were still powerless because of the magic circle.

And Ureff was still swift, and every victim he killed, he immediately took their powers and life force.

From 20 years of total life force, he gathered almost 200 at this point, which basically means he can live another 20 years since 10 years of life force is the equivalent of 1 year of life span for a noble vampire like him.

And as the numbers turned into one digit, Ureff wiped his lips with his tongue sticking out.

"This feels odd. I don't feel sweetness anymore. What does this mean?" he pondered.

Ellisa also felt the same. After taking a bunch of abundant energy from them, they feel less satiated as they kill one.

Ureff finally wiped off the blood that was now only a smudge on his face. He faced Ellisa with a confused look.

"Do you feel the same?" he asked.

Ellisa only nodded at him, and as it validated his suspicion, he smiled.

"Perhaps we are near enlightenment. This kind of thing isn't new to vampires, but after a few years of not feeling it, I felt unfamiliar with it." Ureff said.

"What do you mean?" Ellisa asked.

"It means these levels of people aren't enough to make us stronger anymore. We need someone at our level to go stronger." Ureff explained.

It also includes the life force he absorbs. Each year he takes and adds to his life span, making the absorption too needy. Each upgrade to his system needs another fold to get to the next one.

Ureff sighed as he assessed things. He only felt relief after this, and just looked at the sky.

Currently, the whole face of the sect has become a massacred field. There was only a little space for another corpse, and as everyone died except for the children that hid from them, he shouted in exasperation.

"Ahhhhh!!! I feel alive." Then he snickered and looked at Ellisa.

Ellisa just rolled her eyes and walked above the corpses.

"Come here, vampire. Let's go, " she said.

Ureff just nodded and then activated magic from his sleeve. He tried to activate it, and to his surprise, he successfully activated one.

"So, blood magic works well now. I guess I got pretty quality blood this time."

Then, as blood floated and followed his will, they became threads of red and, after a few seconds, became a suit of red.

It was a western-style attire, and as he really liked the gothic style, he immediately covered his body with it.

"You still like the Gothic style?" Ellisa asked.

"All vampires do," Ureff said, then scoffed.

"Well, whatever."

Then the two of them walked their way outside the sect without even bothering about the children. They don't have any attachment to children as they have lived for a long time, which made them not care about children.

It was only kind of an attitude for them since they didn't really like children in the first place. They just keep in mind their master's words about not killing unnecessary subjects like children.

"That will do it," Ellisa mumbled, then led Ureff down the mountains where Jake was waiting.

On the other hand, Jake felt the chills reaching his spine after the whole pressure from Ellisa's magic circle emerged. However, even with how anxious he was, he still didn't leave the place and waited for her.

After a few minutes, two individuals with a strong pressuring aura arrived. It was Ellisa and an unknown person for him.

He looked at Ellisa with relief and uncertainty at the stranger.

"Jake, this is my brother, Ureff," Ellisa said as soon as she arrived.

When Jake heard it, he sighed in relief.

'Just his brother. But he looks weird in those strange red clothes. It even gives a strong scent of iron.'

"I greet Miss Ellisa's brother, Senior Ureff," Jake said, then bowed before Ureff.

Ureff just nodded and then answered, "Pay no heed."

Jake followed his words and just remained silent until they continued their journey. Even with how curious he was, he couldn't bring himself to ask Ellisa about what happened. For some reason, he felt that there was something wrong with Ellisa, especially her brother.

Ellisa, noticing how bizarrely Jake was acting, initiated the talk.

"You look curious. Don't you want to ask about what happened?"

Jake just shook his head. Then, Ellisa confirmed it once more.

"Are you sure?"

Jake was just silent, then reluctantly faced Ellisa.

"Well, the truth is, I am curious about what happened and how you met with your brother."

Looking at him, Jake noticed a notable facial feature that Ureff had. He was pale white with dark hair. And even with how pale he was, he doesn't look dead. Instead, he looks naturally white for Ureff.

Also, Ureff had a slim face and emphasized jawlines, making him feel like Ureff was some kind of a mystical creature.

"He was captured by that sect. As we passed through the mountain near that sect, I felt familiar energy. It made me think that maybe something was inside it, and I discovered that one of my brothers was inside."

'I see… But it feels like Senior Ureff is a strong cultivator who is also in the middle of the General Spirit Realm. Perhaps he was already at the King Stage.'

"Can I ask more? What happened to the Jackal Mountain Sect?"

Ellisa just smiled and faced him.

"I killed them."

Jake's eyes widened. "Did you kill the children as well?"

"Of course not. I still have some virtue, even if slightly barrelled."

Then, with it, Jake sighed in relief. Of course, he was nervous about it since he came from a normal sect and killing innocents differs from their beliefs. Even if it wasn't him who killed, he would still be bothered since he was with the person who killed them.

Fortunately for him, Ellisa didn't kill them. It was enough for him to believe since he knows that Ellisa is straight-forward.

"It will be a month of travel, by the way." Jake said.

"Why don't we fly? Are you still tired and haven't recovered your Qi?" Ellisa asked, and Jake just answered by nodding.

"It's okay. Just tell us the way and we will give you a mount." Ellisa suggested.

Jake pondered. "What do you mean, mount?"

Ellisa just snickered and pointed at Ureff.

"He will give you a mount."

Ureff just nodded and chanted some words. In the next second, blood formed on his palm and eventually turned bigger.

It was still formless in a regular shape, but it still looked like a solid despite being liquid in nature.

Jake just left his lips open in awe. He was mesmerized by how Ureff was controlling the blood like it was nothing. Even more, he pondered where the hell all that blood came from.

"What kind of mount do you prefer? A bird or a boat-like?" Ureff asked.

While he was still preoccupied, Jake slowly pronounced his answer.

"I can have a bird…"

"Then, let's get you a bird mount."

A second later, the blood that Ureff was controlling formed into a bird. But even though it was majestically becoming, Ellisa just laughed.

"He wanted a bird, not a lizard, dumbass."

Chapter 75 - Cliff Golden Sect [1]

Ellisa snickered, looking at Jake's reaction. For her, it was a refreshing scene to see, and an expensive one since Jake hadn't seen one before, creating something from nothing.

Also, Jake knew what was it. But even with his prior knowledge, he was still unstable and was still mesmerized by it.

What Ureff did was a legendary feat in Mortal Heaven. It is called a Creation Mystical Arts by some strong cultivators. And even though experts knew it existed, only peak masters knew about it.

Jake's eyes stopped at Ureff with an amused gaze. He once looked at the mount and pondered.

"What kind of creature is this?" he asked.

Ureff snickered before answering. "It is called a dragon. Does your world not have this kind of creature?"

"I don't know what you are talking about but this mount is too mystical to see. The flawless details took my whole attention." Jake uttered.

Ellisa smirked. "Yes, it was obvious. You were even preoccupied just seconds ago."

Jake stopped, then faced Ellisa, embarrassed by what he had just heard.

"Was I really preoccupied? I feel like I wasn't." Jake retorted.

"You were, dumbass. Also, why are you so into that lizard? It wasn't even that great compared to phoenix. Turn it into a phoenix." Ellisa then faced Ureff, ordering him.

Ureff just raised his hands and laughed. Thinking of it, Ellisa is a phoenix that's why Ureff was laughing.

"Nah. I haven't seen dragons as lizards before. You are just jealous that I can create one." Ureff teasingly said to Ellisa.

Ellisa's eyebrows met and were enraged by Ureff's words. But before she could vent out it, Jake's admiration cut her off.

"Senior Ureff, were you perhaps a peak expert? Are you actually someone in the Emperor Stage?"

Ureff just remained silent with an awkward smile, then glanced at Ellisa, who was silently suppressing her laughter. With that, Ureff raised his eyebrows and asked Jake.

"What's a peak expert? I don't know any kind of that thing," he said.

Jake just looked blankly as if couldn't believe what he just heard. His eyes were still in disbelief and recalled everything he heard from Ellisa a few hours ago.

It was like a replay for him, and as the words hit his system, he just awkwardly replied with a smile.

'These siblings are rather too stupid to become peak experts. Or maybe they were just playing with me, I don't know.'

"Well, nothing. Maybe let's just continue our journey? How can I ride this mount, senior?" Jake asked, changing the topic they had.

Ureff nodded and showed an example with him riding the mount. Just as it was an inspired-dragon mount, it can carry an average human. It has a size just like a horse and when on air, its wings spread up to 3 meters in total.

When Ureff rode the mount, Jake was just left again with mesmerizing. It looks surreal for him, especially since he was an inactive disciple of his sect, he doesn't use some privilege of having a mount.

"It looks good, right?" Ureff asked.

Jake raised his eyebrow in clueless expression then nodded when he realized he was being asked.

"It's amazing," he replied. And so, after it, Ureff put down the mount and let Jake ride on it.

"There you go."

Jake smiled as he slowly climbed onto the red mount. He caressed the surface of the lifeless mount and felt amazed by it. Not to the point that it was mesmerizing, but the surface of it was smooth, different from what he imagined. It was supposed to be sticky.

Well, the mount was actually made from blood, and he realized it since the reeks of iron were on it. However, he just didn't make any sounds about it since it would be disrespectful for him to show some sentiments that could be misunderstood as a form of doubt.

When Jake finally rode the mount, Ellisa then announced that the journey would continue. And since she knew that it would be long, she left a word for Ureff.

"Don't disconnect your power to that mount. It could be dangerous if it leaks some aura from it," she said.

Ureff was just clueless about it, however, just nodded since he knew that Ellisa was just being careful.

And so, when they continued their journey, Ureff started controlling the mount, as well as Ellisa started flying on her own.

On the other hand, Jake was keeping his face static and tried to hide his amusement even it was too late since he already reacted when he first saw the mount.

And just like that, Jake continued leading them to the sect.

With them flying over the mountains and in the sky, they passed through different settlements and cities. Everyone below could just see a shadow of them, but they knew that it was an expert at a caliber that could be able to fly.

Since flying is another difficult feat, those who can do it could be considered experts. However, there lie categories on it. The expert class will have two kinds, the starters, and the peak experts.

Starters were only called experts in normal talk. However, peak experts are called as their nouns tell them. They are peak experts and were surely regarded by different people.

After a few hours, Jake made a signal that they were starting to see the sect.

Jake's sect stands at the top of a mountain. It was at the top of a cliff and had a difficult track to climb. And as it was built on the cliff of a mountain, his sect is named Cliff Golden Sect.

Cliff Golden Sect is only an average sect. It wasn't called as prominent, however, regarded by the people below the sect since they serves as overseers. And as this sect was respected as well by their neighbors, they unintentionally lacks in training.

People around the sect started slacking, and that was the reason why Jake wanted to be inactive since the sect was held by people with no actual expertise in cultivation.

Of course, it was a disrespect towards the sect, but what can others do since one of a reason why the sect survived was because of the money that merchants have.

They are only an average sect with no actual recognition throughout the whole continent or even the region. And because of that, they had less pride over the sect, and so, it was the reason some merchants had power over the sect.

Jake sighed as he remembered the brief description of his sect. He also explained it to them and asked them to not destroy the sect if ever some stupid merchant tried to offend them.

Of course, Ellisa didn't promise, but she eased his worries by smiling.

"So this is a sect. It looks the same as those fiends' place." Ureff commented.

"Uhm… Yes, because sects sometimes look similar in their infrastructural designs."

Ureff just nodded.

Ellisa asked where to land, and Jake just pointed someplace at the mountain peak where the sect lies. And as people were starting to notice their presence in the sky, they anticipated their descent.

Ureff slowly landed the mount at the center of the sect where disciples and fat merchants standing. Also, Ellisa was crossing her hands with a kind of proudful stance.

When the mount landed successfully, every disciple formed a line and bowed before them.

"We welcome, esteemed seniors."

Ellisa already learned that cultivators show some kind of respect to those who are more powerful than them, even if they don't know them. Of course, she discerned the reason behind it. It was for survival and peace.

Ellisa nodded then faced Jake to wait for another guidance.

"What shall we do next?" she asked.

Jake searched for someone in the crowd, and when he was finally done searching, his eyes stopped at a certain individual.

"Please wait here. I will inform master about my arrival."

Then, Ellisa just nodded with a serious face. Ureff was also having a static face, but even with it, he didn't show any disdain in his eyes even he wants to.

'Humans are sometimes just pathetic when they form a group. What are these weak people standing and bowing down to us like we are gods?'

Of course, Ureff was used to it even in his previous world. But looking at the scene, it was as if everyone is included in this some kind of tradition they had. It disgusts him for some reason.

On the other hand, Ellisa was just inspecting the area, but it was cut off when someone approached them.

"Greetings, Senior. May I ask why you visited this lowly place?"

The one who called her attention was a fat, middle-aged man wearing some kind of flamboyant robe. And as Ellisa's eyes laid on him, they stopped at his hands, where he was rubbing them against each other like a hungry merchant.

Ellisa just smiled and slowly pronounced her answer.

"I don't need to talk with a weakling and money-hungry bastard. We will wait here for Jake Meng.." Then her eyes closed with another cunning smile.

Chapter 76 - Cliff Golden Sect [2]

It was a damaging phrase for him. Even though he wasn't able to introduce himself, he was still hoping to be respectful towards her. But, just as his personality was a secret to Ellisa, the fat man just smiled and bowed before her.

"Forgive me if I ever offended you. It was my first time seeing a King Spirit Realm senior in person. I was just too amazed." The fat man pleaded with respect, although Ellisa doesn't know if it was sincere because of the thickness of the man's face.

As Ellisa realized it, she thought, 'He can see through my cultivation base? I guess that's what they call it, a measurement of their pools. However, what's important right now is that he can see through my base, means that I am not hiding it well.'

Ellisa sighed and continued to think about it. If it means that she wasn't doing well in hiding her cultivation base, disadvantage may fall upon her. Not just opportunistic people that could be there to use her, if ever, there will be enemies too, that will be threatened by her simple presence.

It wasn't a good result, to be precise. And as she still doesn't know about cultivation and how to regulate the body with Qi flowing through passages, she has to study more of it.

It was also fortunate for her to have piqued her interest in cultivation because she had acquired a mixture of it. And it means that her knowledge of magic won't be enough. There must be changes in the methods she'll use.

Just as Ellisa was thinking about cultivation base, she faced Ureff, who was just standing, closing his eyes, feeling like the main character in some novel.

Then, she turned her face back at the fat man who was still bowing his head to her.

"Hey, can you see my brother's cultivation base?"

The fat man pondered, then peeked at Ureff. When he peeked at his cultivation base, he shook his head.

On the other hand, Ellisa just nodded at him and said, "How come you can't see his cultivation base?"

The fat man answered, "It was because of his control over his Qi."

'Although it feels like this senior was just playing with me, I don't care anymore. Just her presence obliged me to answer her questions.' Then the fat man gulped after his soliloquy.

"I see…" Ellisa mumbled then assessed things on her own as well.

'If that's the case, does that mean I am still not well-grasped on my new energy? But how can that vampire outdone my control over energies? He wasn't that good at it, or should I say… Ah…'

As Ellisa realized it, a smirk hinted on her lips.

'Perhaps because of his blood art… His blood art covers his presence sometimes.'

Ellisa then talked to the fat man again, but this time, she was trying to return the help she received.

"What's your name?" she asked.

"It is Bernard Dong, Senior." Bernard answered with his hands clasped.

Ellisa just nodded, and after a few seconds, Jake returned with some servants at his back.

"Miss Ellisa, these disciples will be your helper for your stay. The Sect Leader only wants to have an audience with you and Senior Ureff, it will be okay since it is a rare occasion for us to be visited by experts near at the peak."

They were long and unnecessary words for Ellisa, but she just nodded.

"Thank you." Then with it, Ellisa followed Jake.

"Hey, Ureff. Let's go. Destroy that mount you created. We'll meet the Leader of this sect."

Ureff opened his eyes and peeked at her. And just as Ellisa was waiting, he destroyed the mount and returned it to nothingness.

The disciples saw it, and even those sect elders in the area were surprised as well. It was their first time seeing it, and it might be their last time.

They didn't know if it was a treasure, but even if it was, disappearing treasures are still rare since this could only mean that the treasure is connected to the owner's soul.

Ureff then followed them. They entered a pavilion and were assisted to a room with plenty of space, and just at the end of the room were three chairs, with the biggest at the center.

The design of the room was also not to be overlooked. There were beautiful paintings, vases, and display items. Just seeing them makes Ellisa and Ureff surprised, since this was their first time seeing a form of art in this world.

On the other hand, the sect leader of the Cliff Golden Sect was sitting in one corner, smiling. Behind his smile was an uncontainable joy he felt in his life. Being visited by a senior in the King Spririt Realm is already something they could brag about to anyone.

And if they established a good relationship with them, it would surely benefit their sect.

The sect leader stood up as Ellisa and Ureff arrived at the room. It was the meeting room, to be precise, but for those who visited them for some help. Because they don't have a receiving area for those who are higher than them, because of which, visitors like them will be presented with the throne-like chair at the other end of the room.

"Welcome Seniors," the sect leader said, bowing and clasping his hands to be courteous to them.

Ellisa wasn't paying attention, and just at that, she snapped when Ureff tapped her shoulder.

"Huh? Ah… Thank you for welcoming us." Then a forced smile came after.

'The heck. I was too focused on suppressing my energy,' she thought.

The sect leader then smiled and raised his head. He presented the chair with a smile still stuck on his lips.

"Please have a seat."

Looking at where the sect leader was pointing, Ellisa already knew that it was some kind of a throne for them. And because of it, she was awkward with taking present.

"Let's have a sit, equally. I am just here as a visitor, so please act like we are equals." Ellisa softly said.

"Please don't worry. I don't mind it."

Not knowing what to say, the sect leader couldn't help but scratch his nape.

"If you insist." Both parties finally sat down, and then they started talking.

First, the sect leader introduced himself. His name is Liam Weng, and as he started speaking, Ellisa lent him ears while Ureff was just uninterested in what he had to say.

Ellisa just darted Ureff with a glare, but he didn't notice it. He was just closing his eyes as if he was unbothered by what was happening in his surroundings.

"I would like to thank you first for helping my disciple here. He is actually my direct disciple and knowing that you saved him from death makes me happy from it. I would like to show my gratitude, can I?"

Ellisa just smiled. Even though she knew that she was stronger than him and could take over his power with violence, she didn't entertain those thoughts, as she also had a virtue of her own.

It's not that she wanted some power over people; what she wanted was knowledge. It is the most important thing in a foreign land to learn, and just as this goal she has been shown on her path, why wouldn't she grab it?

She tapped the table and faced Liam. With Ellisa's gesture, Liam couldn't help but feel nervous. It was as if Ellisa was intending to make him anxious, even though he knew that he hadn't done anything wrong.

And as time feels like had become slower for him, he jolted when Ellisa started talking.

"I only want knowledge. I want to be supported with my cultivation during my stay here, which is the only gift I want to receive. I need some common books, most likely the average ones. It must be about cultivation and other matters connected to it. That's all."

Liam was just frozen in disbelief at how forward Ellisa was. He was thinking that Ellisa would ask for something absurd. But just realizing it, Ellisa doesn't need what he had since she was just playing around with them, which doesn't hurt their pride.

That was what Liam thought. However, Ellisa wasn't playing around. She was serious with what she requested since she really needed that information to know more about cultivation. She must not just know some of it, she must learn the concept behind it.

And with that, Ellisa smiled.

"Are you okay with it?" she asked.

Liam flinched as if surprised, then looked at her with a response. "Of course, there's nothing wrong with it."

That's how Ellisa's stay in the Cliff Golden Sect started. While they were staying people were talking about them like a news that couldn't be forgotten.

Of course, even the other sects learned about it, but they didn't do anything that would harm their sect and the Cliff Golden Sect since she was just a visitor.

And while they stayed there, Ellisa was diligently studying cultivation and the fundamentals of using her new energy.

She even started using some basic mystical art that sects rarely have. And showing it to Ellisa was only an act of respect since their stay didn't just give them an opportunity, but it also gave them a sense of safety.

However, there was one sect that didn't like it and it was the rival sect of the Cliff Golden Sect that turned out to be their neighbor that is from the next mountain.

Chapter 77 - Agents [1]

Felicity finally found the treasure she needed to give Lucas. Not just those treasures that were extremely helpful for cultivation, but also soul treasures that could be stored in Lucas's soul.

A gleam of a smile hinted on Felicity's face. As if it were a creepy obsessive lady, Senior Hui pointed it out, which made Felicity flinch after realizing it.

"Ah… That was some crazy thought I had there," she mumbled as she pressed her palm to her forehead.

On the other hand, Senior Hui was just smiling and couldn't contain the joy he felt as Felicity acted like her own self.

'Madam must have been under too much pressure,' then he sighed.

However, contrary to what he thought, Felicity was not pressured about her own things. It was just that Felicity was some kind of naive person in the past that her change surprised Senior Hui and he thought of it in that way.

"Senior Hui, can you still remember the legacy?" Felicity suddenly asked.

Senior Hui looked at her and had a clueless expression. It was as if he hadn't expected to hear that question. And as Senior Hui was unsure of what to answer, he just lowered his head with his eyes darting at one item.

"I can still remember it, Madam. However, why did you ask that question?" Senior Hui asked.

Felicity just smiled as she tinkered at one item. She then wiped it off and shifted her body, facing Senior Hui.

There seemed to be a lot of discussion going on. As it was part of some kind of history, Felicity was trying to hold back her emotions.

"How were others doing? Do they still do a great job of protecting their families?" A heavy voice comes from Felicity.

Senior Hui didn't make any specific expression, he just smiled, even bitter about it.

"They were doing a great job," he said, then inwardly sighed. "They even boosted their families after you left."

A moment of silence filled the room, then Senior Hui asked, "Why did you even leave us, Madam? Didn't we ask to stay with you, but you didn't let us?"

Felicity bitterly smiled. Even though she was optimistic about having Lucas as her master, she still couldn't forget about what she left in Immortal Heaven.

After leaving Immortal Heaven and ascending back to Celestial Heaven, she degraded. She became careless about living with different people and tried to live her own way in the Celestial Heaven as if she didn't have any responsibility to think of.

Felicity's personality was unstable. She became soft after being with the 'friends' she thought of and experienced for the first time.

She tried to live her life on her own terms, forgetting the worries she had over her shoulder, because her father promised her freedom after she passed two trials.

Felicity was becoming emotional, making her worry about the others she left in Immortal Heaven.

"Were you mad? It was your dream, I know. But I destroyed it. Were you mad at that time? And even now?" Felicity tried her best not to break her voice, but even with the effort she applied, her throat betrayed her.

"Madam, I wasn't mad at you. I was just sad that we didn't complete the legacy that the Ruler gave us."

Felicity deeply looked into his eyes, and just shook her head.

"You were mad. But you didn't know."

"…"

Felicity and Sneior Hui remained silent for a few seconds, and just as Felicity surfaced a heavy topic, she initiated fixing it.

"I see… I'll finish the legacy. Call the other agents. We will continue the legacy and sit as the ambassadors of Immortal Heaven." Felicity said, as if her words were filled with shining light. And, as it was shocking to hear, Senior Hui unintentionally dropped the treasure he was holding.

"Did you mean that?" he asked in disbelief.

"Yes. And after that, we will prepare a path for Master Lucas. I will become his guide in this world, even though it looks like he was uninterested in this new world and just wanted to live life with others."

'Which was what I also wanted in the past.'

Different continents, islands covered with misty wind, mountain peaks embracing the clouds, and also underground caves that can't be reached by sunlight. Different places in the Cloud Continent, different immortals, ranging from Immortal Saint Realm to Immortal Emperor Realm, were called by a mysterious aura that spread throughout the whole Cloud Continent.

While they were peacefully meditating, like a cultivator would do, cultivate, they slowly opened their eyes and peeked at the radiating, invisible aura that they felt.

They were the only ones who could feel it. Only those who can recognize the specific aura understand what it is. And just as this aura reached their senses, a memory flashed back into their minds.

"Madam," they all said.

And just by realizing it, they already knew what was happening. They stood up, but did not all leave their places. Some immediately answered the call, but some rebelled against it.

Felicity already knew it. And as she feels like it will be a different way this time, she intends to continue the legacy, but she will not be the one who's going to finish it.

Six immortals from different places, vibrating off some profound auras around them, ventrured out and left their stations. Even though they were closed-door cultivating, it wasn't a problem for them as this message from Felicity was way more important to them.

Just like how Felicity sees Lucas, the six that came to her location looked up to her brightly as well. However, Felicity was not confident in this as her previous abilities were missing. And because of it, she used an item that could help her boost her cultivation.

It was an elixir of life. A medicine in the pill form contains abundance and dense Qi that can boost the cultivation of any immortal. But, given how rare it was, Felicity was debating whether she should take it if she meant leaving Immortal Heaven in the future.

A few hours later, one immortal arrived at the pavilion. He wears a dark tattered robe and a straw hat, as if he came from a dirty place that reeks with the nasty smell of dirt and mud.

When the guards saw him, they immediately drew their swords and pointed them at him.

"Don't move any further." They warned him, making him stop his walk while lowering his head.

"It's okay. I know him."

When an immortal began speaking behind their backs, the guards immediately laid down their weapons. They knew it was their master, and because of that, they immediately lowered their heads as well.

Then, they greeted Senior Hui with their hands clasped.

Senior Hui just nodded at them as he walked towards the immortal that was standing in front of the gates of the pavilion.

"Were you doing great, Great Master of the Northern Blue Blade?" Senior Hui asked.

The immortal Senior Hui was referring to didn't reply immediately; instead, he raised a question to him.

"Was the Madam really back? What does that aura mean? It was as if she was calling all the agents." A worried voice came from the myterious immortal.

Senior Hui just snickered at his words. He appears to find the scene amusing, as well as the immortal's expression of concern. However, he knew that he was serious, but still couldn't help but tease him.

"Of course, the Madam was back. And also, she seeks our help to return to the Mortal Heaven."

The mysterious immortal suddenly widened his eyes after hearing the revelation Senior Hui had made. He was in shock, doubting what he had just heard.

"We've waited a thousand years just to continue the legacy, but now she's descending to a lower heaven? What absurdity is this?" Then, he turned his back.

Senior Hui knew how the immortal would react. And because of that, he had already prepared his words.

"The Madam found a respectable master. He was also an immortal, but in a way that he still lived in the Mortal Heaven for some sort of reason. Will you help us if you know this?"

The immortal suddenly stopped, then moved his body back to face Senior Hui. He also slowly took off his straw hat, revealing his static and serious face.

"Did you mean it? Did you just say that Madam found a master to follow? Was that real?"

Senior Hui nodded to ease his doubts.

"One requirement of the legacy is to find a proper master. That could mean another power for the pillar of this heaven. Do you know what that means?" Senior Hui asked.

The immortal nodded. His face also started to calm, exposing his handsome facial features.

"The legacy will live on, and eventually, Immortal Heaven will be united if Madam becomes the ambassador."

"Precisely. So what are you waiting for, Killua? Why don't you get in and greet the Madam? I bet you will like to hear some of her stories." Then, a mysterious smile came after Senior Hui's words.

"I agree.. I shall listen to Madam's words and hear her sentiments about what had just happened."

Chapter 78 - Agents [2]

Killua with no affiliation from a known family was a famous yet mysterious immortal in the Cloud Continent. Not just because of his pure talents in swords, but also for the fact that he only use martial technique instead of mystical arts despite being an immortal.

Martial Techniques are becoming less formed in Immortal Heaven. As Mystical Arts were becoming more popular to others, it just had a simpler and more powerful impact on the enemies.

Here in Immortal Heaven, having no talent in mystical arts or just martial arts means you are weak. As the difference between the two is vast, immortals tend to judge those who only use martial techniques that have less mystical power.

When a mystical art form is used, an unexplainable phenomenon can occur. A mystical art attack could be otherworldly and unique in its method of killing someone.

They could create fire from using Qi, but martial techniques can only make an image but not actually create them. Those two are different as martial technique is the effect, while the mystical art is phenomenal.

"Master of the Northern Blue Blade, do you still use that name?" Senior Hui asked while they were making their way to the pavilion where Felicity stays.

"Yes, Senior. I still use it. Not at all times, however."

"What do you mean by that?" Senior Hui asked, as his curiosity was piqued.

"That nickname is a complicated matter between the stereotype of martial techniques and mystical arts. As immortals only use formless mystical arts, I tend to try to forget those memories."

Senior Hui just didn't ask furthermore. He knew that it was a heavy topic for Killua and he didn't pursue to disrupt the reunion they had. He was just happy at this time, and he can't destroy it since he treats Killua as his brother.

"What was the Madam doing anyway? Did she just come back abruptly?" Killua asked.

Senior Hui just snickered after a sigh.

"Yep. I was taken aback yesterday when she suddenly appeared in front of the gates of the pavilion. And I recognized her from her title, "The Immortal Fairy of Unending Falls"."

Killua was just silent while Senior Hui was telling him the story. And, just as he was taken aback by Felicity's sudden return, he couldn't help but wonder what had happened.

'Did the Madam come back for her master? Saying that a respectable master was in Mortal Heaven, does that mean Madam came from the lower heaven?' Killua pondered.

But Killua knew that even if he wondered about it, he still wouldn't get an answer. And so, he kept his question to himself and saved it for later.

And just a few minutes later, Killua and Senior Hui arrived at the pavilion where Felicity was.

'Am I ready to meet her again? I am worried about how she'll react when she discovers that I didn't help my family after she left.'

The doors of the pavilion slid open, revealing the interior, where Felicity was sitting at the other end of the room.

There was a sliding painting at Felicity's back of some kind of scenery that could be only found on another continent, and as Killua saw it, he gulped in nervousness since he knew what that painting meant.

The painting was actually only of a beach with white sands. But even with how beautiful it is, it holds a great history. The same painting was painted by an artisan that came from Killua's previous family. Killua's previous family, on the other hand, were bloodthirsty murderer immortals.

Not just normal murderers that kill, but disrupters of public order placed by the ambassador of Immortal Heaven. And with them being hated by the public, their paintings were deemed death threats to other people.

"You're back, Killua. What's with the pale face?" Felicity blankly mumbled in slight audible tone.

Killua nervously faced Felicity but was still bothered by the painting; his knees unintentionally surrendered.

"I greet the Madam," he uttered like a powerless dog in front of its owner.

"It's okay. But why are you so tensed. Did you do something? I heard that you did well in your training."

Killua slowly raised his head and asked, "Were you having eyes on me again, Madam?"

Felicity didn't reply, instead, she only gave him a mysterious smile, making him more anxious of what will going to happen.

"Killua, you were a great child. What was your age again, 1400? You're still an adult as an immortal, but with how you act, it seems like you see the legacy as a joke."

Killua gulped once again. As Felicity was darting him with unknown gaze, Killua couldn't gather his thoughts to work properly.

"But Madam, I needed you."

Those were the words he said, and after realizing what it meant, he covered his mouth.

Felicity was surprised to hear it and couldn't help but show her reaction. Her eyes widened and froze at Killua's location.

"Please forgive me." Killua bowed again.

"I-I… I understand. Please remove the paintings, Senior Hui." Felicity ordered, which Senior Hui followed immediately.

"Look at me, Killua." Felicity said. Killua immediately followed her command and looked at her with still worried eyes.

"I played the legacy as a joke, but right now, I am willing to continue it. Do you know why?" Then silence covered them for a few seconds, "Because I found a master."

Killua didn't respond at that moment. He just took things to sink in as he understood why Felicity was showing him some of his previous family's paintings.

He was still nervous, of course, but not to the point that he was expecting punishment. Just as Felicity was starting to lessen the tension in the atmosphere, Killua started to breathe easily.

"Killua, will you play a role again to complete my legacy?" Felicity said, majestically emitting an aura around her for Killua's eyes.

Killua's eyes, on the other hand, sparkled in admiration. He saw the image of Felicity when she was here in Immortal Heaven a thousand years ago. Just like that, he saw Felicity's benevolent self once more.

Killua's eyes teared up as he lowered his head and clasped his hands.

"I accept the responsibility, Madam. Please accept me, I will do my job again."

Felicity smiled as Killua pronounced those words. And as things continued, a light emerged from the ceiling of the roof. It was a symbol, a formation Felcity had created. As the formation started radiating more brillinat, Killua's body was covered with it as well.

Felicity on the other hand also shone brightly. The light as well covered her body, and after few seconds, they both felt refreshing and nostalgic embrace of energy.

"From this day, you will be my child again, Killua."

Killua couldn't find the words, so he just smiled as tears streamed down his cheeks like waterfalls.

When Felicity saw it, she snickered.

"What an idiotic face is that, Killua? You are not a kid anymore."

"I know, Madam."

***

A thousand years ago…

A boy with dark hair walks through the woody forest with bruises all over his body.

He was panting, as if escaping from someone who was chasing him earlier. It was endless for him. He dashed through pointed woods that even added fuel to his wounds.

Stings also filled his system, and his face was painted with pain, grumbling from it.

And as he continued running away from someone, his feet met, making him lose his balance and stumble.

Another wound appeared on his face as it hit the ground first. Now, all over his body, there was no visible space available for another wound, but for the boy, it wasn't even a thing to bother, he just need to escape.

But how could he escape if he was degraded to this state?

From a weakened heart, he couldn't help but tear up. His head slowly turned to face his back as there were brushing sounds that were slowly coming his way as well.

His face became worried, scared of what would happen to him at this moment. And as the brushing sounds disappeared, his eyes widened. A shadow appeared before him.

"You were too slippery for a kid. I praise the effort, but this will be the end of you, tainted blood. Starting with you, we will avenge our family," a man said with a hoarse voice.

The man who was chasing the boy had a scar across his left eye and was bald. It was intimidating for the boy, but not enough to scare him to death as what fears him was the weapon on the man's hands.

"I don't know any mystical arts that can erase you immediately. But do you know what I know? It's a martial technique that can torture your small body."

The boy doesn't have any energy to move. His spiritual energy was already drained by an array that earlier he stepped on. And as what he fears, this will be the end for him.

"You are scaring the kid."

Blood splattered after a mysterious female voice resounded. The blood reached the boy's face as he slowly sank into what had just happened before him.

Not anticipating it, the threat disappeared, but who was that person who killed the man, even detaching the head of the man from his body.

"Are you okay, kid?"

Chapter 79 - Agents [3]

Felicity was cultivating peacefully while Killua, at her side, was reminiscing on the past. It was like Killua couldn't get over the fact that Felicity accepted him again.

Despite his outer appearance of a cold person, deep inside, he was so attached to Felicity that he even considers her as his mother.

But in reality, Felicity was not her mother. She was only his mother figure because in the rough experiences he passed through, only Felicity was there for him.

And just like that, Felicity became his mother, which eventually she accepted and believed as well.

However, on the other hand, Senior Hui was worried. Now that the legacy was continuing, there was a worry that made him overwrought.

Some sentiments still linger in his mind that remain unanswered. But just looking at Felicity, and knowing she was cultivating, he couldn't bring himself to ask her.

However, it wasn't for this at this point. Felicity noticed Senior Hui's worried face and took that into account. Even with her concentrating, half of her consciousness was activated. Thus, Felicity still knows what other people around her feel.

"Senior Hui, why are you so overwrought? Did something happen or something was bothering you? I am worried."

Killua jolted then moved his eyes to peek at Felicity at the corners of his eyes. Even it was still common for him to see Felicity have this kind of concentration, it was still rare for his eyes since only those talented person can diverse their consciousness.

'Madam is still the best…'

"Nothing Madam." Senior Hui denied, but even how insisting he sounded like, Felicity didn't bite it.

"Don't worry, Senior Hui. I was just asking, you can tell me what it is." Felicity assured him.

Senior Hui sighed in an inaudible sound before answering.

"Will be Master Lucas be okay with the legacy? Didn't you tell me that he was a bit off aimless and doesn't have specific goals? Will that be okay?"

Those were the things that worried Senior Hui, and thinking of it, Felicity understood him.

"I see… If it's about that, we can just take the responsibility from him. We won't push him to hold what he doesn't like. After all, we can still continue the legacy."

"How does that mean that Master Lucas won't be angry with that? Didn't you also tell me that Master Lucas had some personality when it comes to decisions that he doesn't like? I know that you noted that you didn't see it and just assumed from his actions, but it's still risky."

"Senior Hui, don't be hysterical. It will be okay. Even Master was like that person who seems to be a pushover but in the end will make people suffer. He had a good side that I mentioned plenty of times." Felicity added as she stabilized the spiritual energy she gathered.

Senior Hui sighed as he finally understood Felicity, but there were still worries that were left in his system.

However, there was one that couldn't understand the situation; it was Killua. He still doesn't know Lucas. Even though Senior Hui didn't know him, but how Felicity was praising him, he eventually admired him. But from Killua's perspective, he had some doubts.

By what doubts mean, he wasn't convinced that Lucas was worthy as Felicity's master, but he didn't disregard Felicity's thoughts either. He was just being too careful since he didn't know who Lucas was.

"I understand. Please forgive me. Maybe I was so excited that my worries unintentionally surfaced." Between worried breaths, Senior Hui said.

Felicity simply smiled. "Don't worry, really. And also, we have another guest. Can you greet him for me?"

Senior Hui and Killua suddenly shifted their attention and felt that there was really someone hiding behind the doors. It was only a faint presence, but even with it, Felicity still noticed it.

However, she just didn't pinpointed the location as a respect to the guest she was talking about.

The door slid open, and there was revealed an immortal who had old facial features. He wears cheap clothes that weren't even considered as a robe. Also, he seemed to look like a beggar in the streets. What are immortals mostly known as a 'peasant'.

However, it was his only appearance. As cultivators in Immortal Heaven who were still at the Emperor Spirit Realm don't really have an opportunity, this disguise is the best for him since beggars in this Heaven are only at the Emperor Spirit Realm.

He was the only informant and intel of the pavilion that Felicity built a thousand years ago. And also by the title, he goes as…

"Dawn. Were you okay?" Killua asked in a static voice.

"Yes… I was…" Dawn answered in a low voice.

Not only was Dawn good at disguising and liked being a beggar, he also had an extraordinary ability to hide his presence, and one of his specialties was hiding his true cultivation base. His talent on this subject was topnotch, and could even be compared to Felicity's.

Even the strongest immortals can be duped by his deceptions.

"I know this isn't the best greeting, but what is your real cultvation base? I can't perceive it, to be precise." Felicity commented that made Dawn smile.

"It is the Immortal King Realm. I got plenty of resources from the Tsai Family's lockroom." Then a shy-like chuckle came after that sent chills down their spines.

"You are still a creep, Dawn." Senior Hui said.

"Yes… I am…"

"By the way, you did great with that stealthy move you made. Since I left, it appears that you have made significant progress. How come you can trick even my senses?"

"It wasn't that really great, Madam. I just got help from Trip. We were rather good practice partners."

Felicity raised her eyebrows as she heard another name. It wasn't that strong a name to remember, however, she took it into her interest that he wanted her to pry.

"Trip? How was he anyways? Was he still good with zither? Did he achieved enlightenment with his zither skills?" Felicity asked.

Zither is class of a stringed instrument. Historically, the term has been applied to any instrument in the psaltery family, or to any instrument with a thin, flat body and many strings strung across it. However, it wasn't just an instrument for them, it can be even used as a weapon in some way.

There were different arts that made sound arts surface in the martial world. And not just because it was a destructive form of a weapon, it was the most regarded weapon which still holds beauty in murder.

"He wasn't that active on the zither. But his Sound Manipulation Arts improved. I was even having a hard time escaping his ears."

Felicity smiled. "That's good to hear. But why isn't he here? Was he still mad at me?" Felicity asked.

"I was mad at you, Madam. All of us were. However, we can forget that madness towards you anytime since you came back." A bold words, mostly being offensive in some way to Felicity but she didn't mind. She know that she did wrong there.

Even Senior Hui and Killua didn't react aggressively to it. They also understand Dawn in some way.

"Forgive me. But, I can't really explain why I did that and could just promise that I will do great this time. But with this set up, I think we won't be able to continue things promptly. Gather those who want to join. I will meet them tomorrow."

"Understood, Madam." Dawn said and disappeared in an instant.

Meanwhile, Felicity could only shook her head at how skillful her subordinates have become. And remembering how she disregarded them for some illusion of life, she looked at herself contemptuously.

'I was still a bad parent after all. But being a parent of these strong immortals wasn't bad. Not just they were understanding, even with how I betrayed them, but they were also sensible.'

Killua stood up from his place then bowed before Felicity.

"I will be going now, Madam. I will come back tomorrow, " he said.

Felicity nodded, then closed her eyes and went back to cultivation. Even after Killua left, she didn't stop cultivating until the next morning came and almost seven immortals were standing outside the pavilion.

But even they were waiting for her that long, she didn't get out. She still hoped that they will be completed.

However, their numbers didn't increased. And as it seems there was no improvement, Felicity stable her spiritual energy then stopped cultivating.

"I think it's time to meet them again," she mumbled to herself, then opened the door of her room.

A bright sky greeted his eyes and a yard was in front of her. There were immortals standing as well, and were emitting some kind of aura that Felicity felt nostalgic to.

'I will continue the legacy..' she said to herself as she recalled all of the events she experienced in the Immortal Heaven on her first visit.

Chapter 80 - A Deal [1]

Lucas became the most prominent disciple in the Profound Symbol Sect. Not only to the sect elders but also to the Sect Master, who was sitting across the table from Lucas.

In the room that Lucas was in, there were important family heads that stood as the pillars of the sect. Not just because they were also curious about an expert that had a guise of an examinee, they were also curious about the offers he had.

Of course, they lowered their standards at this point after they heard he was a rogue cultivator, which meant that he had less reputation and political power. But even with that, they were still optimistic about the opportunity they could get from Lucas.

Lucas was at the other end of the long table. In total, there were ten individuals attending the meeting. However, despite how it looks lively, it was different for Lucas. Deep inside, his emotions were gloomy.

'How could this turn out to be a grandiose meeting between the biggest individuals in the sect? I was only wanting to meet with the Sect Master and offer a deal.'

What Lucas hates the most are meetings. Not just in his previous world when he was still an advisor, even in this world, he still dislikes it since dealing with people is a headache for him.

"Fellow Daoist Lucas, I am Gillian Lishi, the Patriarch of the Lishi family of the southern region." A cultivator in the Master Spirit Realm introduced himself.

And as he initiated the talk, others followed as well. They introduced themselves, including the affiliation they had and the position they held in the sect. Even though it was a bit show-boasting, Lucas didn't mind it since it was normal for them to act this way.

Human nature is what's commonly called it.

Everyone finally introduced themselves until the last one, the Sect Master of Profound Symbol, who had a reverent appearance. He has a long white beard and a slightly aged face. However, despite the signs of being old, there was still some vigorous energy that Lucas felt from him.

Lucas smiled as the Sect Master introduced himself.

"Good morning, Fellow Daoist Lucas. I am the Sect Master of the Profound Symbol Sect, Wilford Guangchang." A respectful voice came from the Sect Master.

From the information he got, Lucas nodded at him as he was assessing what to do next.

The majority of them were at the Master Stage, with the exception of the sect master, who was slightly stronger than them who's at the beginning of the General Spirit Realm.

Lucas was just silent. His eyes never showed any specific expression. In short, his face was expressionless. However, there is a reason behind this.

"Ah… I only wanted to talk with the sect master, but why was everyone gathering here?" Lucas asked.

There were some tense moments, but even though Lucas was exuding some otherwordly aura, they weren't budging from it; they confidently faced Lucas, wearing a fake reverent smile.

"It was because we were told that a senior would visit us. And thus, we were here to respectfully greet you."

Lucas scratched his nape in a rather classy way where he sways his arm while his robes move like a feather. The cultivators that saw him act in this way almost blushed in admiration of his poise.

"So it was because of it? I don't mind it. Let me just talk with the Sect Master, and no one will pry into our conversation. Will that be okay?"

"Of course, it will be okay, Fellow Daoist." They all answered in unison.

Lucas smiled and nodded. After that, he activated a storage spell and pulled something from it.

He took a silver scroll-like artifact and placed it on the table. The artifact was detailed with the artistic preference of a well-regarded artisan in Lucas's previous world. And as it was filled with majestic style, Lucas smiled.

But on this course, he wasn't expecting the eyes to stare at him with flickering eyes. Of course, Lucas knows that it was filled with amusement because of what he showed.

'So it isn't common for them to see mystical arts despite living long lives?' Lucas concluded.

He smiled at each of them, then finally opened the scroll-like object. As for Lucas, it opened with dim light, the whole artifact turned into gold and shone brightly, almost drowning Lucas's face.

"This is a treasure called the Dome of Flames. I know that this sect had the best array masters in the world. However, this treasure here is something that can't be forgotten and be passed on to the next generation as this treasure has unlimited energy and use."

All of their eyes widened in amusement as soon as they heard Lucas's description of the artifact.

"Was this that great?" one of the cultivators asked, but Lucas didn't reply. He just smiled at him with some unknown purpose.

The cultivator who asked shut his mouth and retracted awkwardly.

Wilford, on the other hand, raised a question in accordance with the other cultivators.

"What does it mean, Fellow Daoist Lucas?"

"This is a self-sufficient treasure. The energy it needs will be automatically absorbed on its own. However, I only said that it was unlimited use, but time is important for this one. You know what it means. Like humans, they need to rest to recover their energy."

Everyone nodded after Lucas's explanation. And with another question raised by Wilford, Lucas willingly answered it.

"What's the use of it? You mentioned that you know that we were one of the best in array formation. Does that mean that this one is from an array?"

Lucas shook his head. "It is not connected to any array formation, but this one had a similarity to array formations. I can't explain it to you, but it will be useful since the use of this treasure is for protection. It can create a 500-meter radius dome, and it is adjustable to a lower radius. Also, this protection dome can withstand an attack from me."

"Why was it named the Dome of Flames?"

"Well, it was made from flames in reality. The dome that can be created from the treasure was covered with flames, but it won't harm anyone on the inside. It will be another way of protection and can cause damage to pursuers as well if they are contacted physically."

Everyone nodded again after his explanation.

"Thank you for this. What will be in exchange for it? I believe you are asking for something. That's why you wanted a deal with us."

"On point! That's right, Sect Master. However, I am not that cheap to only give you one gift. I have plenty."

Lucas then pulled out another one from the storage spell. And the second time, their eyes were dazed off while following Lucas's hands.

But Lucas just ignored it and put another artifact on the table. It was a bottle-like object in silver. Like the previous one, it has well-carved details, as if it were made by the same artisan.

"This one here is called "Refreshing Bottle." Any water you put in will turn into healing water. Just like the previous one, it has unlimited use and needs time to recover its energy."

Wilford raised a question. "What's healing water? Does that literally mean water that can heal? I mean, that's amazing, but there are good doctors on this continent."

Lucas just snickered after hearing Wilford's sentiments. Although it was reasonable for him, it was not the least frequently asked question about Refreshing Bottle.

"You are underestimating this treasure. It can heal any complication that isn't connected with spiritual energy. Let's take, for example, blood loss. It can help the body recover its blood by only drinking the healing water."

Everyone's lips were shaped into an 'O' with Lucas's words. It seems too good to be true, but from how Lucas confidently tells it, they can't feel any fraud in it.

"I'll take that into account. We can't bring doctors with us at any time for every simple complication. Thus, I think it will be helpful for the general to have this treasure. Was this all?"

Lucas nodded.

"Then, what do you want to ask in return, Fellow Daoist?" Wilford asked.

Lucas just smiled and put his hands on the table, then pushed his body onto the table. His elbows supported him, leaning on it, and as he did it, a cunning smile formed on his lips.

"I want to ask for an array that can gather a specific type of energy. Do you have any of those? Or even just an array that can gather spiritual energy."

Everyone looked at Lucas with cheerful eyes. It was as if they had gotten the most advantageous deal in history.

Not only did they receive treasures with high importance, but what Lucas requested is too common to be found since any array master can create an array that can gather energies.

"We have those. But why do you need to have a deal with us if it was only that simple array you wanted?"

"You are underestimating arrays. Well, I guess it's because you know it in every corner of the field. However, I am not asking for a simple array formation. I want complete knowledge and the most powerful of them all. I bet you are treating it as the most valuable item here in your sect."

And as Lucas pronounced those words, everyone's faces went blank.

[A/N: Thank you very much for the gifts, Fellow Daoist Curtis8918.. And also, to all of those who continue to read my work. From the bottom of my heart, I love you!]

Chapter 81 - A Deal [2]

"What will happen if this treasure ends up being fake? Will you reimburse us for what you got from us? Knowledge like what you mentioned costs too much." Wilford asked in a serious tone.

Lucas smirked at that notion. He knew for sure that in deals, especially with powerful people, there would always be a gap in benefits; it would not always be an equal trade.

Lucas didn't underestimate them. That definitely was the reason why he picked the most valuable items in his storage space. However, even in a case like this, where doubts surface, what he just needs to do is to stand by his position.

"Am I still your disciple, Sect Master? I think I am still your sect's disciple. That is the reason why I joined the sect: to get new knowledge. And in return, I present these items to you."

"Does that mean you won't be leaving the sect until you get what you want? Well, the items were superb, but I still have my doubts."

"You don't fear death, Sect Master?"

At that point, everyone became still and looked at Lucas with dilated eyes. Eventually, they retreated to their seats and let the sect master deal with the 'mess' and threat Lucas made.

"Are you threatening us, or just me? Please don't joke with us; we will not turn down your offer. However, we will also make the demands and conditions for equal standing, even with you being the powerful. Let's be civilized."

Lucas smiled as he heard Wilford's stand in the negotiation. It wasn't bad for him, though. He was not only open to equal trades, but he was also not entitled to them.

"I see… Please forgive me. So, what are your demands? I am sure that it won't be as simple as what I have asked as it is what the array masters wanted to learn." Lucas uttered.

Wilford nodded. "Please become my disciple and represent the sect in the upcoming InterSect competition. That's all my demands will be."

When Wilford said it, everyone, including the official, looked at him with surprise. But Lucas, though, was not even aware of what had just happened and gazed at each of them with a clueless expression.

"What do you mean by that? Inspecting the eyes of your brothers, it seems like it wasn't simple words." Lucas said to Wilford.

"I know. I asked you to be my direct disciple, which means that I will devote my time to you as my junior, not as my senior, who aspires to be an array master. In that case, will you accept my demand?"

A glint of a flashy smile curled up in Lucas's lips as he looked at the determined eyes of Wilford. He felt nothing but pure intentions, nothing malicious about it, and that made him feel relieved.

"What is this InterSect competition you are talking about? I am curious about it, " he said, sending a hint to Wilford that he immediately bit.

"So, you accept my condition?" Wilford inquired.

"I will. But I won't be a normal direct disciple. I want to have a peaceful time in your sect, Sect Master. That's why, earlier, I was respectful towards you as you are my master in the array field." Lucas said as he smiled at him.

"I will comply with your request."

And so, Wilford started explaining the InterSect competition he was talking about.

"The purpose of the factions inside the sect was to InterSect competition. It was to filter out the best disciples and make them representatives of the sect in the quadrennial InterSect competition at the center of the Southern Region."

"Disciples of every faction don't know it, even if they only have a small idea of the InterSect as we don't make it the priority of the disciples. However, as the competition between factions produces a winner, it will either be a representative or a core disciple."

"It might be confusing at the beginning, but the reason why we did this was to keep the secrecy of our knowledge from the outside. We always keep our secrets inside, and thus, we practice making diversions from information that couldn't be easily filtered out, as even the disciple doesn't know it."

"Pertaining back to the InterSect, why does we join the quadrennial competition? It was to raise our reputation and help the ancestor of the sect ascend to the upper heaven. That is our purpose, so, Fellow Daoist or Junior Brother Lucas, is it clear to you now?"

As Wilford's explanation finished, Lucas's eyes only looked at him with a bored expression, as if he was not interested in any of those things he said. And as Wilford noticed how Lucas was being stultified, he sighed.

"I felt respect towards you earlier, Fellow Daoist Lucas. But as your facial features were youthful, it seemed like your attitude as well." Wilford commented.

"What of it now? I am only wondering if you even bother joining the InterSect competition. Does it even give you benefits for keeping your secrets or does it have any other benefits that will give your ancestor or founder some ways to ascend."

"You are being blunt. But even with how you disrespect the master, I won't react aggressively to it. I only have one goal, and that is to assist the ancestor. After that, I will look for another purpose."

"Ah… Was that all? What a loyal subject! I commend you. I don't have anything against you." Lucas sighed.

***

After establishing a mutual benefit deal, Lucas started studying arrays. It wasn't just as simple as learning martial techniques so that he could easily take an image of the sheets he learned. What he must learn are the fundamental structures of arrays that he never knew about.

Well, he was familiar with memorizing or even familiarizing with different arrays. However, what he noticed is that arrays are slightly different from magic circles.

"Array formations, from what I noticed, are the same as creating magic circles. However, the array can only be drawn on the surface, unlike the magic circle that can be on bones as runes or even at any location on the body."

"Seemingly, it felt like this was just a basic creation of a magic circle with not that complex of conditions. Unlike magic circles, they have complex structures."

Lucas smiled as he read through each book in Wilford's personal library about arrays. Things about arrays weren't complicated for him now, and as he grasped the contents he read, he immediately memorized them.

"Tranquil Mind and Picture Mind take action."

After a week of endless reading and studying sessions, Lucas finally grasped all of the knowledge he needed to create an array formation to gather unique Qi. And as he had also already put into account the ingredients, he was now prepared.

Lucas only needs the ingredients to finish creating his own array formation. The purpose of why he needed to learn was to formulate his own array formation. And, because he already had the most important and basic information, he can now create his own specialized array formation.

"What I need is unique Qi. From what I had observed, there were average people who could take magic into their system. In this world, there is also disease caused by magical effects, as well as mana. If I put it into account, then, I can really create a sect of mages."

"What an amazing experience that would be. This could also mean that I don't have to worry about companions and my bloodline since I am creating immortals. If that's the case, I can reach the Upper Heaven without worrying about my accomplishments."

"But I don't care about my accomplishments… I only wanted to have a good life with immortals."

Lucas was endlessly mumbling to himself like a fool. After formulating his own array, ideas emerged in his mind, making him think of a possible future he could have.

And as he reevaluated his purpose, he sighed in frustration with himself. He couldn't believe that he had just thought of things that way. Was he really that depressed of not having a good life?

Well, now that he thinks of creating his own 'guild' which he hasn't done in his previous life, he could take a different track from what he is accustomed to. That was his only purpose in life.

He wasn't tired of life; he was tired of the monotonous flow of scenes as he grew older. And such a feeling of hope hasn't fallen on him.

"I only need ambition in this world. And such a thing isn't impossible."

Lucas became Wilford's direct disciple, and as he was tasked with reading anything he could for the whole week, Wilford visited him to see his progress.

"Were you done?" Wilford asked.

Lucas peeked at the location where the voice came from and pondered at Wilford. He gazed at him, then smiled after noticing the time he had used.

"Ah. I already used all of my time? I didn't notice." Lucas said with a stupid look.

Wilford then entered the library and had a confused look in his eyes as he laid them on Lucas. He approached him and eyed the table, which held a book of somewhat difficult to comprehend characters.

"This is… The Theory of Otherwordly Structural Qi. Did you already read every book here that you managed to read the last book?"

Wilford couldn't believe what he had just discovered. Initially, he thought that Lucas would have a hard time studying and memorizing the 1000 books in the library. But from what he could see, he was wrong.

Lucas was indeed a genius and wasn't even just playing with them like other strong peak experts in the Mortal Heaven.

"Let me ask you, Junior Bro — Senior Lucas, did you read all of these books in just one week?"

Lucas took a pondering look at how Wilford was strangely being respectful to him.

"I did. What of it, then?"

"That's just amazing…." An awkward smile came from Wilford, as he almost lost his strength and leaned on the table with his right hand.

Chapter 82 - Theoretically

"How did you do it?" a dazed expression emerged on Wilford's face as he asked a question to Lucas.

Meanwhile, Lucas just nonchalantly fixed the books in their order without answering him for a while. Curious about it, Wilford followed Lucas's actions to see if he could learn something from him, but as he was silent, he pondered.

'This senior is just too amazing. Even with how oblivious he was, he had some air to breathe without even showing much effort. I think, if not for his youthful attitude, we would understand each other and might talk about serenity.'

Wilford could only sigh in frustration as Lucas was still ignoring him. When he acted to leave, Lucas suddenly paused and Wilford noticed he was done organizing the books.

"I just have an amazing memory. That was all, but can I ask? Why, as a master, didn't you even teach me anything and just let me read?"

Wilford bitterly smiled, "I wanted to see if you have a great memory since array forming needs that kind of asset. And by the looks of it, you seem to be ready for my instructions, Senior Lucas." Wilford calmly said.

Lucas turned his back and shifted his face to Wilford's.

"I am excited, you know. I am planning on creating a sect of unique cultivators. You want to join?"

Wilford snickered at Lucas's notion. He shook his head in ridicule and sat on the chair next to Lucas's.

"Why? Are you interested in making me your subordinate or disciple? What can you offer?" Wilford asked, seemingly his interest was piqued.

"I am a unique cultivator. And the reason why I am here learning arrays is to create my own sect with the same uniqueness that I had from the mass. I want some life experience." Then a smirk came after it.

"How could you even think of creating one if you are so obviously ignorant? Please don't take my words into offense, but just being honest, you are an ignorant, Senior Lucas."

Lucas snickered. "Here we are with that senior address. I really didn't like it, but I'll make an exception for you Sect Master. Because of your aura, you made me feel I had someone who is just the same as me."

Wilford raised his eyebrows. He pondered on what Lucas was talking about. Being clueless about it, he raised a question.

"What do you mean? I can't keep up with your words, Senior Lucas."

Lucas scoffed, then shook his hands at his chest level.

"Don't bother with it. If you are that curious about what I said, just show me some array. If you show me, I will finish my formula by experimenting if it practically works." Lucas remarked.

Wilford sighed at Lucas's still happy-go-lucky personality.

"Okay, I get it. Please follow me."

If ever there was a stranger witnessing this, they would wonder why a master shows respect to his disciple, even knowing how expert he was in array formations.

They went to an open field, which was Wilford's personal field. There were no people, just flat land and a forest-like environment. There were falls and even a streaming river that passed just to their left.

There were boulders formed like pedestals on the right with characters of some practice Wilford does.

Lucas's eyes ventured all around as he was mesmerized by how the beautiful cascading scenery existed in Wilford's personal field.

He breathed out an amazed exhale and faced Wilford.

"You've got a nice space, Sect Master. Does anyone in this sect have the same privilege as you have?" he asked.

Wilford didn't reply, and instead, he diverted the topic of the conversation.

"Did you experience making your own array, Senior Lucas?" Wilford asked.

Wilford's left, which was just before the streaming river, was where Lucas stands nearby. Lucas then pondered and shook his head.

"I didn't. Can you show me how? I only knew arrays theoretically. I still need to learn practical skills, right?"

"Yes, you still need it. Even with how good your memory is, without proper comprehension, you won't be able to create an array. So, let's begin?"

Lucas smiled before nodding after Wilford's question. After that, Wilford started drawing something on the floor after a wide circle.

He then drew something in the air and, for a brief moment, it was shown, but after a few seconds, it disappeared, as it had never been there before.

Lucas intently observed the whole process, then connected everything with what he knew. What Wilford just did earlier was the second layer of the array. As printing an array is enough to create it in the air, having the first layer, which was the basic, is important for those who still don't know the purpose of it.

Theoretically, a basic array can't stand without the first layer or the symbol on the surface. However, there are some arrays that don't need to be drawn on the surface, instead, they do it on-air and paste it invisibly on the surface.

At this point, not only was the array formation hidden, but it was also safe from interference because it was drawn in secrecy.

Then, since Wilford was intended to show the basics, he created the first layer with a physical drawing of the formation and the second layer with an invisible drawing.

When the formation was finally done, Wilford started putting some spiritual energy into the array he created.

'This is it. It is the activation of array formation that is like activating magic circles.'

Light emerged, enveloping the area around the array formation Wilford created. And as the light was already filled with white, they started forming a physical, transparent dome with Wilford inside. And as Lucas gazed at it, he noted the process he saw.

'So, it was this, huh? It wasn't what I'd been thinking. I assumed that activating required far more spiritual energy than was required. Well, the formula I created was the one that was faulty. And Wilford's form was a bit more complex and more well structured.'

Wilford then destroyed the protective array and faced Lucas.

"Was that enough? Do you think you already have an idea of how to do it practically?" Wilford asked.

Lucas didn't reply immediately and pondered.

"I think I can stand on it. Perhaps you can do it without using the theories in the books. After all, they were just theories, and they didn't help much with structuring. " Lucas commented.

"I guess you were not wrong there, but theories are helpful in creating another law in a branch of knowledge. In this case, there are still more studies needed from what you mentioned."

Lucas snickered and stood up before Wilford.

"Can you show me how you can gather spiritual energy with the array? That's what I needed the most." Lucas said.

Wilford chuckled, then nodded. "I get it. Let's continue, Senior Lucas. And please observe and feel the energy since this proves the Qi circulation you needed before passing the exams. If you are not good at circulating Qi, you won't be able to finish an array like this."

"I understand."

Then, without wasting any time, Wilford started drawing symbols in the air. And the next seconds, the symbols appeared for a brief moment then eventually disappeared.

Wilford finished creating the formation, and when he was done, he started circulating the Qi and also gathered some.

"This is registering the energy to the array formation…" Lucas commented.

Wilford nodded, but he didn't reply after that. He just concentrated more on making the array, and in the next few seconds, Qi started gathering around the array formation, as if at its center lay a strong cultivator with good cultivation.

Lucas widened his eyes and laid his gaze on each of the spiritual energies he could see that seemed to be drawn to him. They eventually entered his dantian as if he wasn't cultivating with simple breathing.

He smiled in delight, then checked his core, dantian, and third energy pool.

'They seem to be calm and co-exist. However, I am still worried that I can't merge my dantian and core. If ever there is a high-probability successful chance, I will merge them.'

When Wilford was finally done with the array, he faced Lucas.

"Was that all good?" he asked him.

Lucas nodded and pointed at some of the points that resurfaced on the ground.

"That line there, it appeared after you circulated your Qi and cultivated using the array. Was that it?" Lucas asks as he points at the last symbol at the end of the array formation.

Wilford gazed at Lucas with amusement before nodding.

"Yes, that's where the part of the Qi I wanted to gather also with its identification. It was too complex to be explained by words. Perhaps I could easily show it with the symbols instead."

Lucas snickered, then shook his head.

"I already understood. So can we move to the next topic? What's the purpose of this line? " Lucas pointed at the center of the array formation, which had a character that seemed to be off for him.

Wilford raised his eyebrows and pondered. "What of it?"

"It seems to be less effective. Did you purposely put it?" Lucas asked.

Wilford nodded after his question and explained it.

"In the theories, there exists a center with fewer effects, as they are the epicenter that needs the balance the most. However, they weren't that weak, and just 45% of the total effect was normal."

"But with my array formation, put it that way so that I can easily convert the formation into what I like. For example, this."

Then the symbols shifted like it was just easy, making Lucas dumbfounded.

"How did you do that?" he mumbled in disbelief.

"This new formation is called the defensive array. It gathers Qi and converts the Qi for the defensive mechanism. If some intruders step on this array, they will surely take damage."

[A/N: I just created those theories and stuff.. I didn't know how it happens in other books so please just pass at it without putting issue on it.]
