Amyra's POV...
It's been over two weeks now since dinner with my in-laws.
I made lasagna for Lucas the other day and he really liked it so I'm making him lasagna again.
The contract states that I make him dinner twice a week but sometimes I like cooking for him. In general actually, it's a way of relaxing for me.

I sigh as I take out the lasagna to cool and start cleaning up when three men walk in. The first one stares at me then at the lasagnas I made.
" Uhm, who are you? You're supposed to knock before coming in. ", I say to him.
" He's with me. ", Lucas says as he walks in.
" You made it again? ", he asks with a smile, childish excitement visible in his eyes.
" Yes, I just felt like it. Uhm.. are you staying for dinner? ", I direct the question at his friends.
" Won't we be disrupting anything? ", the last one to come in says but I laugh it off.
" Of course not. Settle down in the living room while I set the table. Lucas, come help me, please. ", I let out with a forced smile.
As soon as they're out of earshot, I glare at Lucas.
" You didn't tell me we were having company over. I hate being surprised. ", I whisper harshly.
" I know that, sorry, it slipped my mind. ", he says before a tall, brunette girl walks in.
She's wearing a body-con dress with heels, I give her a once over.
" Who are you? "
" Oh, you must be Amyra. I'm Tasha, Lucas' ex. But we're just friends now. "
All the red lights in my head start tingling and I just know that I won't be liking Tasha.
" Oh, I see. Could you excuse us for a bit? ", I start but she interrupts me.
" You know, we were all surprised when Luke here told us he got married during lunch. ", she giggles.
" Tasha, excuse us. Join Martin and the rest in the living room. ", Lucas says, she says a few more things before leaving.
" Really? ", I say before grabbing the lasagnas and walking away with them.

" Wow, when Lucas told us your cooking is amazing, I actually thought he was overreacting but this, this is the best lasagna I've tasted in a while. ", Tony says as he eats.
" Thank you. ", I smile and drink some of my wine.
" So, how'd you guys meet? Because this guy right here is known for being a player. ", I chuckle with Martin as I drop my glass.
" Well, it was unexpected. Neither of us actually thought we'd get this far to be honest. ", I smile, thinking back to our first meeting.
Lucas had stormed into Camila's room, scolding her because she stood him up. I was there to grab my laptop and he thought I was her.
" So your marriage is practically arranged, as I've heard. ", Tasha states.
I leave the table with no answer. And as the help clean up the table, I take the cake I made to the table.
" Lucas is allergic to chocolate. It's understandable that you don't know that. I can whip up something for you in the kitchen, Luke. ", she's quick to point out.
" I know that, Tasha. He's my husband. ", I say as I cut him a slice.
" It's coffee cake. Tastes just as nice. ", I smile at Lucas as he tastes it before serving everyone else.
" Wow, this is amazing. ", he says.
Tasha keeps staring at me so I am quick to correct her former statement.
" Oh and Tasha, my kitchen is off limits to strangers. "

LUCAS' POV...
After dinner I retire to my study to try and get some long overdue work done. According to the contract, today's the day our Marriage Counsellor comes over to evaluate our married life. She's in on this whole contract thing as well.
Basically, she'll ask questions and see what we know about each other.
" So, I'll get straight to the point. ", Amelia starts.
" Lucas, what have you learnt about Amyra so far? "
" Well, she loves to cook and is really good at it. She uhm.. she's nice and likes to read books as well, she is very organized, loves flowers and is also very territorial. ", I say.
" Territorial. ", Amelia hums as she nods. " Amyra, your turn. ", she says.
" At first, I expected Lucas to be arrogant and obnoxious but he actually isn't. He is very playful and he's nice to me, I guess although he acted like a stick in the mud previously. Oh, he loves paintings and sports cars. He's also quite forgetful in the morning. I have to find his cufflinks and glasses for him a lot. But it's kind of cute. ", she giggles.
" Good, good "
" That's good, you both have learnt quite well. "
" So, I'll ask each of you questions about the other and you have to answer to the best of your abilities. You're allowed to correct each other, it's all about learning. Ready? "
She flips through her file book and starts, directing it at me.
" Her favourite colour. "
I think for a while and look at Amyra. She doesn't give away anything from her expression so I try to recall.
" Blue. I remember asking her once to pick out a shirt for me. She picked blue and said it was one of her favourites. She has three favourite colours actually. Blue, grey and Green, nature. ", I say.
" That's true. I like the blue skies when it's cloudy and grey when it starts to rain. ", Amyra confirms.
As the questions go back and forth, I can't help but wonder what will be the outcome of our marriage after the contract expires.
" So, Amy, can I call you Amy? What is one thing about Lucas that you don't necessarily like? "
Amyra seems to ponder over the question for a while before looking at me.
" Well, I don't exactly know.. I'm not sure because, so far, we've been really civil with each other. We try our best to consider the other's feelings and well, I don't think there's anything for now. ", she says as she plays with her fingers.
" Interesting. Lucas, one distinct feature of Amyra. "
" I guess the fact that she finds it difficult to be dishonest. She's the type that will tell you immediately once her peace of mind feels threatened. ", I say, looking over at Amyra who looks off into a distance.
" Yea. So, I guess that's a wrap for today, Mr and Mrs Dawson. I will get going now. "
" Thank you, Amelia. ", I nod and Amyra walks her out.
