We can't all be friends

It was now 6 months into the tribal stage, and the Jackrixis tribes had ample time to converse and interact with one another.

This inevitably caused some tribes to not be too happy with some of the tribes they were situated near and caused some problems to pop up.

No matter how many countermeasures Jack made to make sure his race was as loyal and close as possible, there would still be conflict in the end.

Because just cause they are loyal to the gods doesn't have to mean the same for a tribe that another group wanted to disappear.

This is why, currently, in the mountain biome, two tribes were preparing for war, and it would be the first in the history of the race.

The fight was between two tribes with the first being called the Mountain slammers and one of the few tribes who was controlled by a clan.

The Mountain slammers liked living deep in the mountains and enjoyed building and creating structures, in particular, the more defensive kind.

They mostly kept to themselves but were kind and respectful to the tribes who had stumbled upon their home.

Mostly, the slammers just wanted to be left alone to build and protect their home and pray to their gods in peace.

This, however, changed when they had a meeting with another tribe that had some semblance to them except for one key difference.

While the Mountain slammers preferred the more defensive position, the other tribe went for a more offensive position.

This tribe was called the Shadow Bringers, and they didn't stay in the mountains but in the valleys below, where it was dark and shadow. For most of the day, except when the sun was at its highest and so they preferred to fight and attack the enemy.

You see, the valleys were mostly safe in the day, but when it became night, some strong monsters came out to hunt.

Knowing this and that they wouldn't do great in an up close and personal fighting style, they preferred using ranged weapons and tactics.

The war started because of a simple disagreement over the different tactics used and also their ways of thinking, which were very different.

The slammers believed in standing their ground and fighting to the last man for their homes and also believed in being calm and patient towards others.

The Shadows believe in coming back to fight another day and don't care about losing ground or places.

They also believed in being sure of themselves and prideful of their skill and not letting the incompetency of others drag them down.

This quickly led to some arguments, and this led to distrust, and it eventually bubbled over to fighting between them.

The slammers thought the shadows were overly aggressive and unpredictable so they couldn't be trusted.

The shadows thought the slammers were pretentious and thought of themselves as better than them, which they hated with a burning passion.

So, a few little fights eventually turned into a full-on war, which was declared in different ways by both sides.

The Shadow Bringers started by killing a member of the slammer's tribe and putting them outside of the mountain.

The Mountian slammers replied by capturing a shadow bringer and torturing him for a day before sending him back to his tribe bloodied and beaten.

Both sides now knew there would be a war, so they both prepared with the slammers, fortifying their home's positions as best as they could.

The shadow Bringers started to make stronger and longer weapons to use against the slammers while also making sure to scout the target.

They also had rudimentary rock throwers they would use that if it hits the target could break bones and cause some severe damage

The two sides had prepared, and around a week after the first killing and capturing began, the two sides clashed with the shadow bringers, making the first move.

It was in the darkness of the night when they struck with the defenses the Mountain slammers made and caught them off guard, but they quickly moved.

The slammers added the extra fortifications they prepared in case the shadows attacked and used mostly stones and large sticks and dried mud.

The shadow Bringers continued to attack while the slammer's structures held on, and this is what happens for the first few attacks.

The shadows hoped to break the will of the Mountain slammers, but it did not work for whatever reason, and they held on.

They managed to get one of two hits on some members, which did manage to break an arm or a leg and bring them out of the fight.

But they didn't know that the mountain tribe was simply preparing a large attack that would scare off the shadow bringers at once.

They had managed over the week to procure a couple of large boulders and made sure to smooth out and break as much of the edged as possible.

They also slathered the rock in different types of plants and liquids they had found useful for the plan they had.

So once more on the 4th day of the attack and 3 of the mountain slammers out of the fight with broken arms or legs.

The shadow bringers were sure they were going to win and contained to pelt the slammers from the valley below.

They go so confident they start to inch closer and closer up the mountain while roaring at the enemy to hopefully scar them into submission.

This, however, didn't work, but they saw a great opportunity as the Mountain slammers opened up the only opening I'm their large fortification.

The Shadow Bringer quickly ran forward, hoping to grab this opportunity and break through the annoying walls that held their prey.

That was until multiple large flaming boulders came rolling down their way and quickly picking up speed towards them.

They didn't expect this at all, and a few of their members froze in shock and fear before being crushed under the boulders.

Once a few snapped out of their shock, they quickly ran down the mountain, hoping to get out of the boulders way before it crushed and burned them.

The boulders were now going at great speed, and we were illuminated by the darkness of the night and allowed for the slammed to see their enemies.

The temporary base that the shadow brings made below the valley was struck by the boulders and torn to pieces as anything valuable was set a light.

Those in the base ran for their life while screaming in terror at the sight of their friends or family being burned alive or crushed under the rubble and rock.

The mountain slammers watched from above as the shadow bringers ran into the shadows around them and off into the night.

The Mountain slammers congratulated each other but did not celebrate as they never wanted this small war to happen.

They just wanted to be left alone in their mountains and be allowed to pray and sleep in peace, but even when enemies came Their gods protected them.

They would hope that after this heavy blow, the shadow bringers would come back, and they could talk about peace, but that would not happen.

On the morning of the second day of looking through the ruins of the temporary base, their enemies had set up.

They had found a few useful things, but most had been destroyed or buried under the mess, so they decided to go home once more.

However, as they were walking up their mountains, they invoiced that on the outskirts of the broken base was the body of an animal.

Its head was on a sharp pike that had been planted on the ground, and the tribe's members who saw this new it weren't there at the start of their search.
