Chapter 150 Carol Ferris

Chapter 150 Carol Ferris

Although Superman vehemently denied that Stephen had defeated him, he explained that he was on Earth due to his upbringing. However, Amanda Waller and General Swanwick remained skeptical.

Amanda Waller had witnessed Stephen overpowering Superman herself. If Stephen hadn't defeated Superman, why would he be here? Amanda Waller couldn't bring herself to believe it.

"Kal-El, I advise you to stay calm. If you truly mean no harm, remain here and await a solution. If you depart, we might not be able to prevent you, but there are those on Earth who can.," Amanda Waller told Superman.

Superman tried to explain helplessly, "I'm not a bad guy."

"It's not relevant," Amanda Waller shook her head.

What mattered was not whether he was good or bad but the fact that he was an alien. It was natural to exercise caution.

"I'll attempt to speak with Stephen," Amanda Waller said, turning to General Swanwick.

"Very well," General Swanwick nodded. He then motioned toward the door, which a woman in military uniform entered.

"This is Major Carol Ferris, currently serving as my secretary. She will accompany you to meet Stephen, and if he has any requests, she can relay them to me," General Swanwick introduced.

Carol Ferris nodded to Amanda Waller and then left with her.

...

In the hotel room.

The curtains swayed gently in the breeze, casting dappled sunlight across Stephen, creating a sense of comfort. Regardless of whether the sun make him stronger or not, Stephen relished this comforting feeling.

He glanced at Lois Lane, her back smooth and enticing as she faced away from him. Returning his attention to the kryptonite nearby, Stephen realized that it could have a certain effect on him. While the influence was not significant due to his unique abilities to copy power's and not DNA, so he is not a Kryptonian but has a power as one, it could still harm Superman. And that's precisely why he had picked up a piece of it – to experiment on a fascinating things.

Knock Knock Knock!

Knocking on the door disrupted his thoughts, and Stephen turned his head to see who it was. His X- Ray vision instantly penetrated the door, revealing two skeletons.

Correction: It's not two skeletons; it's two individuals.

One of them appeared considerably overweight.

The soft knocking roused Lois Lane from her half-awake state. Gazing at Stephen wrapped in a bath towel, she momentarily looked puzzled. Seeing her, Stephen waved his hand to indicate that it was okay, she attempted to continue dozing but was abruptly startled when Stephen opened the door to let in the two visitors.

"Oh, Hello miss beautiful and Waller. What can I do for you?" Stephen inquired nonchalantly.

Amanda Waller's expression was grim, very grim. "Those things are highly important and could cause significant trouble if they get out. We hope you to give them back."

"What?" Stephen paused for a moment, then smiled. "The Argus's vault was robbed?"

"Don't pretend to be ignorant. This morning, three individuals attacked the secret Argus Warehouse and made off with everything. Two of them possessed superhuman abilities. One had the power to emit sound waves, which directly obliterated the warehouse walls. The other one was Betty!" Amanda Waller received this news while on her way to locate Stephen.

There was no need to contemplate; the mastermind behind this had to be Stephen. Was this a retaliation for using Betty to threaten him previously? How did he learn about the location of the Argus's secret Warehouse?

"I gave the order. My collection room was looking a bit empty, so I thought I'd get something to decorate it with. After all, who else but Argus collects the most valuable items? Blame yourselves for stockpiling so much instead of working!" Stephen's theory on the robbery left Amanda Waller momentarily speechless. She reluctantly responded after a while, "These items are of great importance, and I will find a way to retrieve them."

"That's up to you," Stephen replied indifferently. "Is that all you came here for?"

"It's about Superman!" Amanda Waller quickly redirected the conversation.

"Hello, I'm Major Carol Ferris, and I'll be discussing matters related to the Kryptonians on behalf of General Swanwick," Carol Ferris said, glancing at Lois Lane, who was still on the bed, and then back at Stephen, whose god crafted sharp muscles and abs were on full display. Stephen extended his hand and introduced himself.

"Hello."

Stephen shook her hand but then leaned in and planted a kiss on the knuckle of her hand, leaving Carol Ferris somewhat perplexed and flustered.

"Let me say this again, You are quite beautiful," Stephen complimented with a smile.

"Thank you!" Carol Ferris responded nervously.

Suddenly, a harsh noise pierced the air, sounding like an electrical interference.

"Phone!"

The source of the sound was the phone, and everyone's phone emitted the same harsh noise. Stephen turned back to the bed and picked up the phone. The screen lit up on its own, and there was a crackling noise, as if the signal was poor. Subsequently, a few English letters and intermittent sounds appeared on the screen.

"I am General Zod... I come from a distant planet, and I have crossed the vast sea of stars to find you. You've harbored one of my people, and now I demand that you surrender him. For some reason, he chose to conceal his true identity and blend in with you. He may look like one of you, but he's not of the same race. If anyone reveals his whereabouts, the fate of your planet rests in your hands. Kal-El, have you heard me? Come out and surrender within 24 hours, or let the entire world bear the consequences."

This message was translated into numerous languages and played repeatedly before abruptly ending after a lengthy pause.

The phone then returned to its normal state.

"Ring ring ring..."

Carol Ferris and Amanda Waller's phones rang incessantly, all inquiries related to this message.

This message was broadcast on TVs and mobile phones worldwide. Coupled with Lois Lane's news about Kryptonians, Kal-El, and General Zod, the entire world was left in shock.

Were there truly aliens, and had they come to Earth?

...

P.S.: Carol Ferris is the girlfriend of Green Lantern in the Justice League, known as Star Sapphire, and later gained the Star Sapphire Lantern Ring, becoming a member of the Star Sapphires in the Star Sapphire Corps.
