White Flame

After assigning all of my SP into attributes and using Unique books, I stretched my hands and let out a satisfied sigh.

Suddenly, an azure hologram appeared in front of me, making me frown.

< Congratulations on defeating The Dark Prince! >

< Do you want to Announce your Achievement to the World? >

[ Yes / No ]

Without hesitation, I pressed the [ No ] button.

I didn't plan to brag or seek attention from others, I also didn't want to attract unnecessary envy or reveal my identity.

< Congratulation to [ Unnamed Player ] for Defeating The Dark Prince! >

Another system window appeared on my screen, however, I quickly moved it out of my face.

Although I was very calm and composed, the world around me was not.

The entire player base was in complete chaos.

Players knew how hard it is to defeat a Hidden Boss and yet, someone managed to defeat The Dark Prince on his own!

Within minutes masses began to create threads on forums, sharing their astonishment and curiosity about the mysterious player.

Soon enough, Guilds were trying to find the identity of the player, hoping to recruit or learn from someone with such incredible skill.

They even sent some people toward the location of the Gloomy Castle, hoping to catch the guy and recruit him for themselves.

However, while the world was buzzing with excitement and speculation, I was completely unaware of the commotion happening around me.

I was happily marching out of the destroyed library, carefully closing the bronze door behind me and descending down the stairs.

Unfortunately, as soon as I left the castle's territory, a group of men blocked my way into the Dark Forest.

Since we were not in the village area, combat was allowed and they had the choice to engage in battle.

Observing the group, I noticed one of the men pointing at me with a smirk spread on his face.

I had dealt with a lot of bastards in my past life and this guy seemed like just another one.

Unknowingly, I tightened my grip on the Eerie Staff.

"Move..."

I growled at the gang, however, their leader barely let out a giggle as if I said anything funny.

It didn't seem like they took me seriously.

However, I wasn't worried about fighting. I was more than confident that I could handle them with ease.

I was hesitating only because my hood was barely covering my face and a sudden movement would reveal my true identity.

Unfortunately, the group began to unsheathe their weapons and take a step closer, ready for a fight.

"We'll consider letting you go if you are willing to give us all the Boss loot..."

The man at the front spoke whilst swaying the Darkling Staff in one of his hands.

It seemed that the fight was unavoidable.

Whoosh...

Taking a deep breath, I conjured a Lightning Spear, feeling Mana traveling through my hand.

Lightning Spear is considered a low-tier spell and its chanting time is small hence it appeared on my palm in a few seconds.

Taking a peek at the leader's face I noticed some hints of fear in his eyes.

He probably knew that I just defeated the boss and got some powerful loot.

Smirking at his reaction, I launched the spell straight at his chest.

Whoosh...

The projectile tore through the air, hitting the player.

" You Fucker! Now you're dead! "

Another man shouted, seeing his leader fall in seconds.

He signaled to the other men and held his staff tightly, conjuring a spell.

I would be able to sidestep if they threw projectiles, however, if one of them was a Dark Priest...

That would be a problem.

You can't dodge curses, after all.

Warily looking at the attackers chanting their spells, I relaxed my muscles seeing them cast Darkness Shields for protection.

I instantly knew that all of them were Dark Mages.

Darkness Shield is a spell that is exclusively for a Dark Mage subclass.

Creating another Lighting Spear I threw it at the closest person.

Seeing me trying to forcefully breach through his shield the man smirked. From his own experience, he knew that the shield could block up to 25 Magical Damage. Unfortunately for him, he didn't see how much damage my spear did previously.

Now the group of four men was halved.

The two alive weren't stupid though.

They knew that they had no chance to win against me.

Slowly retreating they threw a few Darkness Blasts trying to prevent me from chasing them.

Unfortunately for them, I had no intention of letting them go.

I wanted to test my Demonic Flame.

Taking a step forward I narrowed the distance between myself and them in a few seconds.

I felt that I couldn't throw the Demonic Flame yet. Extending my palm I grabbed one of the men's faces and instantly lit it on white fire.

Crackle...

I could hear him wince in surprise, but soon his eyes dimmed down and a few seconds later a hologram appeared.

The whole group was dead.

Walking close to the fallen man I set him on fire and left his corpse to burn alone.

Quickly walking back to the castle I let my Demonic flames devour another 2 men before walking deeper into the forest.

Seeing my flame's upgrade I decided to log out.

I've had enough Fragmental for today.

A few scouts ran through the forest trying to outrun each other. While sprinting they noticed something white in the distance. Coming closer to the thing they noticed a man with a pierced calf burning in white flames.

A silence engulfed the whole group. Taking some glances at the burning body they slowly turned their heads towards the gloomy castle.

Their pace was a lot slower now.

Soon after, a Forum thread was created with pictures and news about the Hidden boss's defeat and 4 players burnt in white flames.

The players who were burnt in the fire also commented about their fight and confirmed that they were killed by the same player who defeated the boss.

They also mentioned that the unknown player was hiding his face under the hood and that he was a demon.

The Fragmental player base was in chaos for the whole night trying to find out who the unknown player was. The Unnamed player became some kind of celebrity in one night, while I was happily dreaming about a new and expensive mansion.
