Sonora's POV:
15 years later
It's been 15 years
15 years since I've seen my mother's beautiful smile or heard her contagious laughter
15 years since I've heard my fathers laugh or felt his the warmth of his hug
And 15 years since the werewolves tore Amiras' and my lives apart
Every day since I was 6 I wake up and hope everything was a dream everything I've seen and everything I've experienced was just a nightmare but life doesn't always work in our favor
flashback 15 years ago
"nowa I'm tired," little Amira said in a weak voice
"I know Mira but we have to walk a little longer okay mommy and daddy will be back soon" Sonora tried to assure her little sister but fear lingered in her heart they'd been walking and running for hours and it was starting to get dark.
A lot of creatures linger and hide in the dark depths of the forest wild, hungry, feral creatures exist hiding in the shadows waiting for their next meal to walk out and now two little girls were walking around nowhere to hide no one to protect them
"nowa I'm scared," Amira said while shivering because of the night's cold
"Don't worry okay I'm here I will protect you" Sonora replied hugging her little sister suddenly a loud growl could be heard and a werewolf slowly walked out of the bushes its fur soiled with dirt and mud, its eyes glowing an ugly orange and its teeth sharp and pointed
Sonora hurriedly pushed her little sister behind her fear and panic coursing through her veins she knew she was probably going to die but she was going to die protecting her sister
the wolf slowly walked towards them his eyes looking directing into Sonora's as he got closer the leaves crunched beneath his paws as the distance between them got shorter and shorter a quick shadow can be seen moving in the corner of an eye but as the wolf was ready to pounce a figure popped up behind him and snapped his neck leaving the body limp
Sonora jumped up in shock and pushed her sister further behind her she looked up to see a dark-skinned man holding his hands out for her to take
"I'm not going to hurt you little one," he said with a smile on his face but still, Sonora didn't budge scared the man was going to break or probably bite her arm off
"I'm a friend of your parents Solon and Amara"
as soon as she heard her parent's name tears started to roll down her cheeks and her little body started trembling as she reminisced about what she had witnessed she slowly brought out Amira from behind her and gave her to the man she didn't trust him but she trusted her parents
he stooped down to eye level and gently wiped her tears "it's okay now no one going to hurt you" while Sonora sobbed in his arms.
