Skye

"Don't worry, it's a good thing." Fanny couldn't help but laugh at Skye's utterly terrified face. He walked closer to her and said calmly, "Do you remember when I told you about the power inside your body?"

Skye sighed in relief and then nodded. "Yeah, the power of vibration."

She then asked with a puzzled expression, "What about it?"

"I can help you awaken that ability."

Skye suddenly jumped off the bed and ran to Fanny with her lithe legs. She asked excitedly, "Really? How?"

"Let's go. I'll take you there." Fanny pulled her hand and opened the portal to Kamar-Taj, afraid to keep Ancient One waiting.

Skye paused after entering the portal, suddenly realizing that she hadn't changed her clothes. Her pink pajamas clashed with the sacred atmosphere of Kamar-Taj.

"Fanny, I haven't changed my clothes yet," Skye hurriedly said.

"Uh." Fanny looked at Skye's cute pajamas. "Forget it. Master won't mind. Let's go find her first."

Skye was still reluctant, but hearing that Ancient One had been waiting in the meanwhile, she could only follow along with Fanny.

"Are you sure this awakening won't cause any changes to me?"

Skye's anxiety grew with every step they took toward Ancient One's room. She was excited when she first heard about the possibility of having superpowers, but now worries and fears overtook her heart.

"Don't worry, I'm here." Fanny grasped Skye's hand. "You might be paralyzed for a bit, but it will end soon."

Skye nodded. Compared to the abrupt and uncontrolled transformation she went through in the original plot, she was in a much better situation now, especially with Fanny and Ancient One accompanying her.

They arrived in front of Ancient One's doors, and Fanny confirmed one last time, "Are you ready?"

"Yes!" Skye nodded, determined. She had decided to save her parents after hearing about their current situation. This power was indispensable for that.

Fanny said nothing after seeing Skye's determination and silently opened the door. He then nervously asked Ancient One, "Master, what should we do next?"

"Miss Helsed. Step forward and pick a crystal." Ancient One gestured at the pile of crystals taken from the 'obelisk.'

Skye slowly approached the pile of colorful crystals. She looked back at Fanny one last time when she finally stood right in front of the crystals.

Fanny nodded encouragingly.

Skye took a deep breath and nervously picked a crystal. And then...

Nothing happened!

Fanny quickly looked at Ancient One, asking what to do next.

Ancient One waved her hand, and the crystal shattered into a fine powder as if blown away by the wind. All of it was then sucked into Skye's body.

A layer of black stone-like substance began to emanate from Skye's body, wrapping her.

Fanny had already told her that she might be paralyzed, but Skye couldn't hold her fear and panic. She kept her eyes fixed on Fanny, terror filling them.

Fanny walked towards Skye, ignoring all potential danger. He comforted her. "It's fine. It will only be a moment. Trust me."

"Yeah!" Skye replied, her heart suddenly relieved. She closed her eyes, letting the substance cover her entire body.

Fanny watched the process nervously. He couldn't hold his worries and asked Ancient One, "Master, this thing won't be dangerous, right?"

Ancient One was much calmer. She casually sat on the chair and replied, "This is an alien item, so I'm not clear on its specifics. But it seems that there is no problem for now."

Not long after Ancient One finished her sentence, Skye completed her transformation. The stone-like shell cracked, and Skye emerged like a butterfly from within, seemingly unchanged.

Fanny breathed a sigh of relief in his heart. It seemed that no unpredictable event had happened.

Skye felt something stirring within her after the transformation. Since she wasn't as ignorant as in the original plot, she had prepared to anticipate the changes within her.

"Fanny!"

Skye immediately jumped and hugged Fanny after the shell was entirely broken. The fear and loneliness were more than she ever wanted to experience.

"It's fine, it's fine," Fanny patted Skye's back, comforting her like a child. "Alright, come now; Master is still watching. Can you feel any supernatural powers?"

"Yes." Skye then remembered that Ancient One was still sitting not far from them. She quickly released Fanny, blushing. She whispered, "I feel like I'm hearing some weird sound."

"I think I can control them."

Skye closed her eyes.

Shortly after, Fanny felt the ground beneath him tremble slightly. He hurriedly stopped Skye, "Skye, wait. Don't continue that."

"Huh?!"

Skye opened her eyes in confusion. She didn't really understand what had just happened.

"You were shaking the ground just now," Fanny explained. He looked at Ancient One, who had a curious expression on her face, and continued, "This ability is quite dangerous. Don't destroy Master's room."

"Ah!" Skye was shocked and quickly apologized to Ancient One. "I'm sorry, Master Ancient One. I just want to try and control them."

"It doesn't matter, Miss Helsed." Ancient One smiled gently. "My room is not as weak as Fanny had worried, but this ability is very powerful. You must control it well so it doesn't hurt yourself."

"Yes!"

Skye had an inexplicably deep reverence towards Ancient One, so she obediently bowed. It didn't seem like she would forget these words anytime soon.

Fanny actually knew that Kamar-Taj structures would be strong enough to withstand Skye's ability, but he didn't want Skye to get into the habit of using her ability randomly. Moreover, just like Ancient One had said, this ability might harm the user.

"Thank you for your help today, master," Fanny sincerely thanked Ancient One. Without Ancient One's help, his only option was to take Skye to the underground temple, where unknown dangers might lurk.

Fanny and Skye left Kamar-Taj later, bringing the fragment of the 'obelisk' with them.

Skye was understandably excited about the whole ordeal. "Did I really shake the ground? What does it look like?"

"Alright, don't think about the ground for now."

Fanny took a few cups from the kitchen and filled them all halfway with water.

"What are you doing?"

"Keep the water in the cups vibrating—well, let's add a little difficulty. Use them to play Beethoven's Symphony No.5!"

Fanny looked into Skye's eyes. He recalled that Skye's ability included the creation of shockwaves. It was a powerful ability, but its strength made it difficult to control. Thus, she had to obtain mastery of her power immediately.

"?"

Skye showed a confused expression.

It was as if she had skipped all the tutorial levels of a game and then found that she had no idea how the game mechanics worked at all.
