Chapter 24: Taking a Break from Life

Tara POV

I didn’t want to leave the pack for good. I just needed a break. So, I headed back to the human world and got myself a coffee at a coffee shop. I walked through a familiar art’s district and watched some of the street performers.

There was something so simple about the art galleries and people playing instruments on the street. A simplicity I almost missed.

I walked around drinking my coffee and glancing in some of the gallery windows. It was exactly the kind of break I needed.

When the galleries started closing, I finished off my coffee and made my way back toward the pack territory.

As much as I enjoyed returning to the human world, I didn’t belong there anymore. It was obvious to me now. I could walk around drinking coffee and watching them but no one had looked at me or talked to me. They didn’t know I was a werewolf but they must have sensed something was different about me.

No, I didn’t belong there now.
