Chapter 25: A Day at the Beach

Tara POV

My back and arms felt a little sore from my encounter with Luke the night before. I sat up in bed yawning and stretching, wincing when I strained my sore muscles.

“Good morning, good morning,” Victor’s voice said. He knocked on my bedroom door and came in with a big, bright smile.

“You’re in a good mood,” I said as he sat on the side of my bed.

He took both my hands in his and ran his thumbs across the back of them, running over my knuckles and veins.

I closed my eyes, loving the way his touch made me feel. My skin tingled and small shivers ran through me.

“There was a while last night where I thought you had left me for good. I’m just happy that I found you and that I got you back,” he said.

I smiled lightly. “I was never really leaving. I just needed a break.”
