Chapter 37: The Eclipse Pt. 1

Tara POV

Beside me, Victor was so tense. I thought the vein in his forehead might actually explode.

“Victor, who is that?” I asked again, squeezing his hand.

I could hear him grinding his teeth.

“That is the man that killed Logan,” he hissed through gritted teeth.

My face paled and my hand felt cold and clammy suddenly. I knew how much Victor wanted to sink his teeth into that guy.

A pack ceremony for peace and unity meant that Victor couldn’t act out. If he did, Alpha Briar would never forgive him. Besides, we both knew that Victor couldn’t make the first aggressive move or whatever Alpha Sidus was planning would be blamed on Victor.

“I know you want to tear that guy’s head off, but we both know now is not the time,” I reminded him in a firm voice, under my breath.

I glanced sideways at Victor and he smirked.

“Don’t worry, my love, with you by my side, I’m completely steady,” he assured. He lifted our interlocked hands and kissed the back of mine.
