Chapter 101: A Disagreed Plan

Tara’s POV

The small council convened the next day. I stood between the girls, Sima, Rena, Rose and Alexandria at one side of the table, while Victor stood between Axel and Evan on the other side. I hadn’t spoken to him much after we had had the conversation in his study, and by much, I mean at all.

Instead of using only the afternoon to complete his work like he had said, Victor spent the entire night in his study as well. And while I was urgently waiting his arrival so that I could speak with him, after I had taken a shower and sat on the bed, I found myself falling asleep while waiting.

I hadn’t even seen him the next morning, and a part of me had wondered if he had slept at all. The bags sitting beneath his eyes as he looked at the map on the table before us told me all I needed to know. His eyes were still heavy, still tired, still sad.

“Any news?” he asked the small council, barely lifting his head to regard the wolves around them.
