It was a bad idea. Really, it was. And if Victor were to seen me now, I wouldn’t doubt that there would be something akin to a slight worry for my mental health raging in his eyes, right next to the frustration of realizing that I may just never truly listen to his orders.

Unfortunately for him, that was not something I worried about too much, and unfortunately for him, it wasn’t something I sought to correct about myself right now. Maybe some time in the future.

I had spent the better part of the last few days taking into account the pattern rotation of the guards positioned outside of Sidus’ cell. And like a thief in the night, or a stranger trying to free friend—-or literally anyone else other than the Luna of this pack—-I moved, stealthy, until I found myself standing directly outside of it.
