Victor and I had gotten separate rooms to sleep in. Although it might’ve been an ultimately horrible idea, considering that there were an amalgamation of things currently trying to kill us.


It would have been better if the two of us had stayed in the same room, or even in the car, where we could control the environment we were in. Here, there were too many parts in the room where we could be attacked from, or ambushed, and little to no defense. 


But I took some comfort in the fact that this was the town we were supposed to be in, and there would be no more nasty surprises like human-coyotes who would try to rip our faces off. Still, a girl couldn’t be too cautious.


It was well into the night now and I was beginning to grow restless. I hadn’t slept at all since I had met Sidus and he had shown me Victor’s fate, or a potentiality of it. And yet, I still found myself unable to… unable to what?
