A brother's anger

Farren frowned. He looked at Rayana with a confused and suspicious face. For a moment, the man was silent before finally nodding in approval of Rayana's request.

"There's a guy who likes Chloe. Someone who is very close to her and also you…" Rayana was silent. Staring at Farren's confused expression. "That person is David."

"What?" Farren exclaimed in disbelief. "What do you mean, Rayana?"

Rayana immediately touched Farren's hand to calm the man. "Farren, you promised me not to be angry," she said reminded.

"I am not angry. Just explain everything to me." Farren said, holding back his anger.

"Chloe told me that David had confessed his love for her. David has liked Chloe for a long time, Farren. He confessed his love right at our wedding party. And... And Chloe was confused by the feeling. That's why…" Rayana was silent. Felt tensed as Farren's angry face became more visible. She could feel Farren's hands clenching in anger. "Farren, you won't be angry, will you? You promised me..."

Don't know what to say. Even angry, Farren couldn't possibly because he had promised Rayana. Also, the woman is pregnant with his child. He is more concerned with the feelings and condition of his wife than having to get angry at Rayana to make the woman upset.

"Didn't you see how hard I held it? You better go to sleep, if you don't want to see me getting angry, Rayana."

Half amused, half worried. Rayana started to climb into bed. Before sleeping, Rayana kissed Farren's cheek briefly. "Thank you, Farren." She whispered, smiling softly.

When Farren entered David's house without permission. The man found only silence in it. Several bottles of drinks had disappeared and were scattered on the table. Clothes lay on the sofa, and food fell apart on the floor.

Farren went upstairs to David's room. The man was sleeping in his bed. Farren looked annoyed at David. He reached for a glass filled with half mineral water. Farren immediately poured it right in David's face until the man woke up with a start and opened his eyes wide.

David had wanted to throw out the cruelest curse he had, but he couldn't because he saw Farren's figure staring at him with an angry look.

"Wake up you bastard." Farren's orders. The glass he was holding earlier, was immediately thrown on the bed just like that.

David wakes up. With a face full of water—cold—he wiped it with his palm. Some of the water gets into his nose to make him feel uncomfortable. David looked at Farren in surprise. "Damn, this is how you greet your best friend after a long honeymoon, Farren." Sue David.

"Shut up. Don't think I don't know what you're doing in my absence, David." Farren said. His eyes narrowed sharply. He knew David understood what he was talking about right now.

"Hey, Farren... Listen to my explanation first..."

"Who do you think you like, David!" Couldn't hold back the annoyance. Farren grabbed David's gray T-shirt tightly. Causing David to stagger forward, nearly falling off the bed. "Chloe my sister, how dare you to toy with her." Farren hissed, then.

"What? Playing around?" Wonder David. "Hear. I know you'd be mad if you found out I like Chloe. But..."

"If you knew I would be angry. You shouldn't be messing with her, David. If you dare touch Chloe by the end of her hair. I will not remain silent, even though you are my own best friend." interrupted Farren, threatening David. His eyes were full of anger. It didn't matter if today David would be alive or not. And how angry Rayana will be. Farren didn't care at all.

"Farren, calm down..."

"You're telling me to calm down, while this concerns my sister?!" Farren snapped. He pushed David back and staggered.

David propped himself up on his elbows as Farren pushed him back. Staring at how angry his best friend was right now. David got up, then stood half-fearful.

"You can kill me, my friend. However, I won't deny that I really like Chloe…"

"David… You really…" Farren's hands clenched into fists. He was about to hit David in the face, but David stopped him.

"Before I did like Chloe. And to this day I still really like it. Love her more than I've ever felt before. But, it's all over Farren. Chloe turned me down. And I've given up on grabbing her heart and making her mine." Obviously David.

Farren was silent. The first in his hand started to loosen. David realized that and spoke again.

"We've been good friends for a long time, Farren. And I couldn't possibly dare hurt Chloe. In fact, I would never be able to forgive myself if I hurt Chloe…" David paused, feeling a pang in his hurt heart. "And I also realized that I'm not a good man." David laughed. "Neither of us are good men. But you have Rayana whom you love very much. Even though it was difficult at first. But, you deserve it…"

"Stop beating around the bush, David." Cut Farren.

"The bottom line is… I absolutely love Chloe. It never crossed my mind to toy with him or hurt him. The thing I feel for Chloe is the same as how you feel for Rayana... But, the difference is, that Rayana also has the same feelings for you. Meanwhile, Chloe didn't." David smiled sadly. "She has rejected me and chose the man she loves. And as a real man. I accept the choice… I give up on Chloe, Farren…"

They were both silent for a moment. Neither Farren nor David made a sound.

"Are you going to kill me?" David said, breaking the silence. With a small chuckle, he took a small blow from Farren's fist.

"Just one hit. If you dare to approach her again. You'll get a long way from this, David." Farren threatened.

"Stay cool. That will never happen." David chuckled. Wiping the blood that dripped from the corner of his lips. "Hey, do you have a present for me?" He asked changing the subject.

"It's downstairs. Some bottles you like." Farren said. The corner of his eyes glanced at the bedroom door lazily.

David's face immediately turned happy. "Wow! I wasn't wrong, having a friend like you, Farren..."
