Stop checking me out like a pervert!

"You can still apply for it, if you want to" came Liam's polite voice from the corner of the room.

Sofia wiped her tears immediately and turned towards him with a bitter smile on her beautiful face,

"Nope, I am done dreaming. I am living in reality these days"

She folded the paper and kept it inside the drawer again.

She noticed the sad look on Liam's face and instantly regretted her sharp words. She knew no matter how many times she will try, the discussion on this topic will only lead to countless fights and worsen the situation than it already is. Hence, she decided to change the topic.

"So, what are you wearing today?" She managed to smile when she asked the question.

Liam noticed the struggle on her face and decided to go with the flow.

"Um. I am planning on wearing the black tuxedo you gifted me on my last birthday. What do you think?" Liam asked with curiosity and waited for her reply.

"I agree. You look really handsome in that" Sofia clapped her hands to show her approval.

"Why were you asking me about my outfit though? Want to do twinning with me?" He asked with a teasing smirk lingering on his handsome face.

"Nope, of course not!" Sofia replied waving her hand casually.

"Ohh please, smarty-pants! I know how much you love twinning since we were kids. You always stole my clothes to look like me. Step aside, let me choose a dress for you" He said with a scoff before pushing Sofia by his waist and diving into her closet.

Sofia sat on her bed looking at the guy destroying her closet with helpless expressions.

"Um.. nah.. too sexy, must gifted by Blair. Ugh too revealing..! Freak weird! Ney, too grandmotherish..!" Liam started commenting on her dresses one by one and threw each one rejected by him on the floor.

"You jerk, I will have to clean this mess!" Sofia uttered angrily from behind but Liam blissfully ignored her and continued his hunt for the perfect dress.

"Uhh.. no! This one is okay? Nah! Ew, never! Too much! Are these kid's clothes? Where is the rest?" He shouted with horrific expressions while holding a tank top.

Sofia only rolled her eyes in reply, so Liam resumed his chase without sparing a second glance at the ignorant girl.

"This one is perfect. It will make your waist look snatched and still won't reveal much" Liam happily removed the dress from her closet and revealed to her.

It was a knee length midnight black dress. The dress had a corset fitting at the top with sweetheart neckline and A line at the bottom. It had sheer bell sleeves reaching till elbow.

"You will look divine in it" Liam said with the brightest smile on his face.

"Oh, okay" replied Sofia glancing at the beautiful dress.

Liam raised his eyebrow in suspicion before asking,

"You are really agreeing with my choice?"

She didn't fight, comment or even glared at him. She just said two magical word and agreed on wearing the dress he chose.

'Is she okay? Is she drunk by any chance? Did our mothers hit too hard on her head? Is she not an imposter? Something is fishy!' Questions swarmed his thoughts.

As he was engrossed in his thought and he was unknowingly staring at Sofia.

Sofia noticed him battling with himself in his own thoughts. Hence, she sighed and cleared her throat to grab his attention.

"Do I have another option?"

The reply came almost immediately.

"Of course, not! I had to go through thousands of clothes to choose just 'one dress'. You better be wearing this one!" He uttered stubbornly and Sofia chuckled.

But soon her chuckled disappeared and she screamed in pain when he pinched her arm.

"Why did you do that?" Sofia rubbed her hand which developed a small rash.

"I was checking if I am dreaming" Liam replied with a wide ugly grin.

"You should have asked me to pinch you if you wanted to check. Why did you pinch me, b*tch!" She replied in fury.

The disappointment clearly visible on her face.

"What nonsense! You and Blair pinch a person like you are trying to remove the soul from their body! Do I look like an idiot to you?" Liam replied with a scoff.

"Well, yes, you do look like one but.." Sofia replied playfully but Liam was beyond offended,

"Hey…!" Liam started tickling her and she was laughing hysterically. She did a failed attempt to stop him.

Suddenly, the door of Sofia's room opened without knocking and her mother walked in unannounced.

When she saw the playful environment in her room and regretted her timing.

"Oh, I am extremely sorry. I didn't know Alpha was there. Did I interrupt something?"

"It's okay. I was just leaving. Catch you later" He replied politely before Sofia's cheek lightly and she just smiled in reply.

With that Liam left the room.

Sofia's mother turned towards her with proud expressions like she has won a battle all by herself.

"That's it. That's how you are supposed to behave. Make him fall for you and let him listen to everything you say!" were her mother's encouraging words but Sofia wasn't really encouraged by it.

"Mum, he is my best friend not my puppet" was Sofia's cold reply.

When Sofia's harsh tone registered in her mother's brain and her smile disappeared.

She gave her a bone freezing glare and replied in a stern voice,

"He is not just your best friend. He is soon going to be your husband. Treat him with love and respect, and he will do anything for you"

"By the way, what was he doing here?" She looked at her daughter curiously.

"Ahem, well, he was just helping me to choose the dress I should wear today" Sofia replied honestly.

"So, what did he choose?" asked Julia, her mother, excitedly like she has won a lottery.

Sofia grabbed the hanger from the bed and pulled it up to show her the dress.

The moment her eyes fell on the beautiful dress, she clapped delightedly.

"Really classy! I knew he has a good taste. Wear it for today's event and make him go crazy for you" Julia said in a voice as sweet as freshly harvested honey.

"Yes, mom" she was annoyed but she can't fight a hopeless battle.

Julia couldn't care less about Sofia's mood swings and left the room hopping happily.

'Only if you would have showed such enthusiasm in things which actually make your daughter happy'

...…..

Sofia got ready in the dress selected personally by Liam. The midnight black color was making her milky white skin glow. Her hypnotic electric blue eyes were sparkling because of the dark shade of the dress like they hold the entire galaxy in it.

She paired it with platform black heels. She did a light make up and curled her chestnut brown hair. She wore a diamond stud and a silver watch to complete her look.

As she was almost done with her look, the door of her room opened with a loud thud and Blair walked in with a big grin on her beautiful face.

'I should probably lock that door at all times!' Sofia thought frustratedly.

"Ooohooo, my my! Someone is looking smoking hot! Liam is going to hell today after seeing you, for sure!" Blair whistle like a playboy when she checked Sofia out from head to toe.

"He is the one who chose it" Sofia informed casually and continued when she saw the grin on her best friend's face.

"Stop checking me out like a pervert!"

"Ooo, now we are choosing dresses for each other, huh?" asked Blair while grinning like a Cheshire cat.

'Does she have selective hearing?' thought Sofia as Blair ignored her remark and kept on grinning.

"Do you have filter in ears or what?" Sofia asked dumbfounded.

"Nope, I am just good at ignoring!" replied Blair with a wide smile while showing her perfectly aligned pearl white teeth.

Sofia shook her head. She was so distracted by Blair's perverted grin that she didn't notice her attire at all.

Blair was wearing a brown colored ruched bodycon dress with square neckline and full sleeves. She straightened her brown hair, matching perfectly with the color of her dress, and kept it open.

She did a light smoky make up making her almond shaped eyes look more bigger. Her hazel globes were shining and looking more prominent due to the darker background. She wore smoky quartz earrings and a ring of same gemstone. She completed her look with a strappy knotted heels and a brown leather sling bag.

"By the way, you are looking breath taking! Brown is really your color" Sofia said in admiration after taking a good look at her.

"I know, right? I got a feeling I am going to meet my someone special today" She replied after batting her eyelashes.

Sofia bursts into laughter before replying,

"You say that before every peace keeping"

"You are being a b*tch! But the point is, I have a strong feeling this time" Blair didn't let her confidence waver by her best friend's mocking.

"Let's agree with your strong feeling then. I hope you meet your Mr. right today" Sofia had to agree with her if she didn't want to enter a party with bruises.

As they were bickering non-stop, someone knocked the door lightly a few times.

"Finally, someone with manners!" Sofia said with a deep sigh and the corner of her mouth twitched into a beautiful smile.

Before she could enquire who that well mannered person is, a male's voice came from the other side of the door.

"May I come in, Sofia?"
