The Entrance Ceremony

The much-awaited entrance day arrived, all of the Reinheart kid except for Reiner of course, (since he already has passed from the academy) was ready for the entrance. For Daerys, she was just promoted to another year in the primary education and for Amon it was his final year in the academy. They were all was excited for many different reasons. Daemon was excited because he was re-joining the academy. Aurelia was excited because she was going to be in the same class as Draciyan. Aegor was excited because… because… for reasons even he himself cannot fathom.

All of the kids waited at the entrance of their castle along with their mother duchess Elisa. She gave all of them hugs before their departure. She was a frail looking lady but she was also a rank A mage. Looks doesn't convey her talent.

When it was time for Daemon to get his hug, she squeezed him for a long hug.

"If you can't stay there, return here, okay." She tenderly said with her concerns.

"Nothing is going to happen, ma." He replied

"If they bully you again, you tell Amon about it, okay."

"Okay, I will." He heard several snickers from behind. "Ma, let go." He whispered.

"C'mon you're going away after six years, shouldn't I be concerned about my baby's safety, not to mention you were bullied there."

Now not just the kids but also the knights started to laugh.

"Ma, I was just kid back then. I'm grown up now. I can look after myself." He embarrassingly said.

"No matter, you're still a kid to me." She rebuked. She was still holding him.

"Alright, I understood. If something happens, I'll approach my beloved brother. Happy?"

"Okay," She finally let him go. "You'll call me every day, right?"

Sigh "Okay I will."

After some more time of small talks the duke arrived. He was in his formal suite.

"Alright, let's get going." He announced. With that the students boarded the limo.

The limo was crowded. Excitement was oozing on the car. After two hours, they arrived at the most prestigious academy in the whole human kingdom, Laeden academy.

As expected, the atmosphere was quite rowdy. Boys and girls alike were swarming the place. Some people wore uniforms while majority of the peoples wore casual dresses indicating they are the new students.

The Laeden academy was large, very large. The academy was several kilometres long, with all of its companion buildings spreading out. Not to mention, the security inside the academy is top notch, since the students learning here are sons and daughters of noble families and the future pillars of the kingdom, they won't compromise on the security. The teachers teaching here are top ranked adventures, some of them even are S ranked one's.

"Alright, I'm off. Daemon, if there is some high-level art based on dual wielding, I'll definitely acquire it for you."

"Thanks, dad."

With a quick nod the duke sped off his limo. He wasn't going to attend the entrance ceremony since he has a meeting with the King.

Daerys left them since she wasn't a part of the advance classes, Amon went with the trio since his class was responsible for the program. He parted with them near the stage, as the entire programme was for the first-year students.

Daemon was mystified to see the number of first-year students. Since the hall was large, containing this much number of students was easy. The trio searched for seats. Daemon could feel eyes on him. Amusement, pity and various other emotions flashed across their face. He ignored them all.

"There they are!" Aurelia exclaimed.

She was basically running towards them but abruptly stopped and looked at Daemon.

"There are only two seats. So…" She trailed off.

Of course, Daemon knew what she was implying.

"Yeah, that's okay. There are plenty of empty sea--"

Aurelia just dragged Aegor through the seats like she wasn't even looking for a reply from Daemon. He was hurt of course. When he looked at who she was referring to, he saw them.

'Of course, its them.'

Over the other side he saw Draciyan Dragonborn along with his sister and other members of the great families. Among them was his previous bullies. Bile raised from his stomach but he fought the urge to throw up here, on the ceremony hall. Aurelia already had warned about making them the laughing stock because of him. He took a deep breath and calmed down. He selected an empty seat among the countless rows and sat on it.

The ceremony started at sharp 9:30. The headmaster himself was present there, which excited the students more. Many S ranked adventurers were also present, they were the professors. Usually, the S ranked ones teach the advanced classes while the A ranked and below teach the primary classes.

Though he didn't recognise all of them, he did, however recognised one of them. Madelyn circa, she was one of the teachers who taught him at the primary classes. She was rank A at that time, seeing her among the rank S, he was sure she must've broken through rank S.

'So, she will also teach me this year too.'

He doesn't particularly hate her, as she was one of the few teachers who genuinely taught him despite his young age.

The ceremony continued, they were just announcing the rules and regulations that a first year should follow. The various clubs, activities and many other training related subjects were addressed.

It was the usual stuff. He was getting boring when suddenly he heard a voice;

"H-hey, do you remember me?" A red haired rather handsome boy stuttered. His golden eyes were not looking directly at Daemon.

"Arthur, how can I forget you." Arthur Drusley was the heir to a noble family which was a vassal to the Reinhearts. He and Arthur used to play at a young age. After Daemon joined the academy, they seldom played whenever Daemon got vacation from the academy, but after he started his slump Arthur never saw Daemon ever again.

"You're joining the classes too?" Arthur asked, still with wariness.

"Yes, I am. Ah… I almost forgot you're also of my age."

"Yeah. It's good to see you... uh…" He trailed off. not sure what to call his old friend. Arthur wasn't sure if the boy Infront of him has been corrupted by the arrogance of the higher status or was the same old innocent friend.

"Daemon. Just like old times you can call me Daemon." He smiled.

"I hope we are on the same class, Dameon."

"Yeah, me too."

"If you don't mind…, can we hangout like old times?" He asked slightly embarrassed. Not sure if he was offending or not.

"Sure, even though I've started to get out more, I still haven't seen all of the places. So, I would very much like if someone helped me here."

"Okay, I'll help you."

Daemon was relieved to see Arthur here. He was the only friend he genuinely cared about, and Arthur never have bullied him. Arthur is a strong kid; he could use someone like him now.

The entrance ceremony ended and all of the students were directed towards their respective class and as expected he was with the other duke's children and no Arthur were to be seen in the class.
