Chapter 4

Mark/Westlie: My name from now on is "WESTLIE"

(A/N: The "E" in Westlie is silent so it's pronounced Westli)

I said to myself and to them that from now on I will be Westlie and not Mark. "West" means I'm going West and "Lie", because I know that this name is a lie, a lie that I can't force to forget my past even though I can't remember my family, friends, and who I am.

So, I will try to embrace the future of what's coming and face it stronger and braver. I don't want to be seen as weak-willed by people because I am a child. As I thought that I clench my hands to know I'm ready. Ready for a new me, ready to accept what's out there and I will never go back to where I came from.

Tallahassee: That's a good name Westlie.

Columbus: I think so too. Compared to West Virginia, because you are going there. Like my name is Columbus without Ohio.

While we are chatting, I heard Tallahassee laugh and he suddenly stops driving, being curious I ask him.

Westlie: Tal, why did you laugh?

Tallahassee: Well, you see Westlie, I see our friend eating while we here are hungry.

He said while pointing a head at us. I look over to where he is pointing and see a zombie munching on a corpse in the middle of the road.

Westlie: oh, nice to have something to eat too.

The two looked at me like I was crazy and they were weirded out by what I said. That's when I realize that the words coming out of my mouth is a bit crazy. Then I look at them and said,

Westlie: uhm, I mean human food, not human meat.

I can see the relief on their faces when I correct what I said earlier. I know it's crazy but only because I am hungry and we need food right now. Because we may die out of hunger and not be eaten by a zombie. Then I put my right hand on my stomach and heard it rumbling. They can see that I am hungry, in the past 5 days now we barely find anything to eat.

Then I see a smirk on Tallahassee and Columbus's faces and know that they are just teasing me. He then starts the car again and I can see that he is planning on doing something to our new friend zombie over there.

As we moved Tallahassee open the car door beside him and he slams it on the zombie who was eating. We see the zombie stumble and roll backward, so we all laugh at what he just did and what happened to the zombie.

Tallahassee: HAHAHAHA

Columbus: HAHAHAHA

Westlie: HAHAHAHA

We laugh until we hurt our back and finally settle down when we are a bit away. Tallahassee knows how to liven up the mood. Even though he has a scary face he knows how to make us laugh.

Now that we are back on the road again, I try to not think about my rumbling stomach and think of something else. I then see Columbus writing something in a notebook, then I remember what he said to me earlier.

Westlie: Columbus, how did you make your rules?

When Columbus heard what I ask he shift his sitting position and face me and said,

Columbus: oh, I thought you will never ask me that. Well, I made these rules to make me survive in this Zombieland.

As he said that while passing me his notebook and letting me see what rules he had made and he made a lot, a total of 32 rules. I think he made more than when season 2 was released if I am not wrong it was 73 rules total. I think I'll ask him if he will add more rules as time past by.

Westlie: Wow, there are so many of them here. I got to ask Columbus, are you gonna add more rules as you travel?

Columbus: Yeah buddy. There are so many things we have to be careful of in this Zombieland and I think that my rules are lacking.

I see him frown and I know that Columbus is just being cautious and he wants to be ready when danger arrives. Creating rules can help save our asses out here.

Westlie: Columbus can I have a copy of this when you finish your rules?

I ask him.

Columbus: Sure Westlie. And when the time came, I will give you the complete rules of how to survive in Zombieland.

He smiled at me while saying that and I smiled back saying.

Westlie: Thanks Columbus.

I feel relief because I know it can be a personal request, but these rules he created can help me. Help me survive in this world.

especially when the time that I will travel alone. I'm not saying I will travel alone right now, but maybe later when I'm old enough. It's not that I don't want to travel with these guys and I love traveling with these two, even though I only have been traveling with these guys for the past 5 days.

It's just that I'm in another world and even though it's in an apocalyptic era I want to see what can this world offer me. I want to know what I can find out there. But I'm sure it will be one hell of a journey.

It may be scary but I think it will be fun. I just want to feel the thrill of being alive. I don't even know how I died in my past life maybe I slip into a manhole while I'm drunk or something and thinking about it, I can feel disappointed in what I did in my past life. I can feel the loneliness and sadness. I don't know why but I feel that I need to be out here on the road keep moving forward and find what awaits me.

While Columbus and I are talking about the rules he made and will make Tallahassee says something to us.

Tallahassee: Columbus, Westlie I think we hit jackpot. *smirk*

I don't know what jackpot Tallahassee talking about but I bet I will be good.

The van stopped beside the road and Tallahassee got out with a happy smile on his face.

Tallahassee: Come on guys you need to see this hehe.

Columbus and I are still inside the car and we look at each other we smile and shrug as we got out of the car. Being watched the movies and knowing Tallahassee in these 5 days I think I know what made him happy.

As we head over to Tallahassee who is standing on a cliff while having a smile plastered on his face, we see a van at the end of the cliff. The van has a "hostess" logo on it.

I can see the doubt on Columbus's face.

Tallahassee: Let's go check it out.

Columbus: What is there to check? It's only a van with the sign of "hostess"

Tallahassee: I can see that dumb face. But I need a Twinkie right now. Are you guys coming?

Oh, Tallahassee you are weak against Twinkies.

Westlie: Yeah, I could eat one too.

As we are about to head down, we see Columbus standing there and about to do something. I know what will he do but it's never bad to ask.

Westlie: uhm, Columbus what are you coming?

Tallahassee: Yeah, are you coming?

Columbus: Yeah, just give me 1 sec.

Columbus then looks at me and Tallahassee. Then I see him about to do rule #18 and which is "Limber up", holding his gun with both hands and lifting it to his face while doing sit-ups.

I can see that Tallahassee had a doubt on his face about what Columbus are going to do. While me snickering at the side while watching the two of them talk.

Tallahassee: Hehe, are you f*cking with me?

Tallahassee said to Columbus.

Columbus: Ah nope, you guys should actually do "Limber up" as well especially since we are going down that hill and it's very important.

He said that to the two of us while still doing the "limber up". I see Tallahassee look at me and had a disbelieving look at what he is seeing right now and ask if his Columbus is for real. Tallahassee then looks back at Columbus and said,

Tallahassee: I don't believe in it, do you ever see a lion "lumber up" before it takes down a gazelle?

I can see in Columbus's face appearing a question if a lion really needs to do it.

Columbus: Hmm.

Tallahassee then just nods to him.

Tallahassee: Well? Let's go ladies hehe.
