Juniper lurched as far away from the door as possible. Her mind was slow to react to her adrenaline-high body. She looked around but couldn’t find a way to escape. The door slowly opened, causing her heart to quicken. She silently cursed herself for not locking the door.

There was a silence that spoke promises of determination like there was no mistake that they were there with her alone. The footsteps that followed made the air feel nonexistent. Juniper stood in the center of the room, watching as the cloaks danced over her fallen guard with each step the figures took.
