Chapter 8

"Exiting jump in 3... 2.. 1, everything looks stable, we got a 2 star system with 3 planets, 1 gas planet and to average size planets." Dot's running her scans while I'm moving us to closer to the gas planet, the radiation from it will help us stay invisible. I'm pretty sure that we are hard to see on scanners anyways, but a new reality means new dangers as well and a Guardian never takes chance without stacking the odds in his favor.

Dot pulls up the planet second from the suns, "this is were the pirate hideout is at." Looking at the planet, it seems to be a desert planet, possible to sustain some life, with a breathable atmosphere. This planet looks more like survival of the fittest than a planet to call a home. "Well Dot what are we looking at?" She pulls up some images while explaining to me the intel she was able to get. "So I pulled this from a mercenary gang, that do some pirate operations on the side, there call the Blood Pact, a group primarily composed of Krogan troops and Vorcha cannon fodder." Vorcha? I don't remember her mentioning those species? "Dot, whats a Vorcha?" She pulls up another image of what I guess is a Vorcha, "the Vorcha are a primitive race of the planet Heshtok, they are taken and trained by the krogan due to their savage nature and adaptability to different environments. The rest of the galactic civilization regards them as pests and scavengers, so they don't really have a presence in the Citadel."

Dot then pulls up image's of the blood pack, I see a couple krogans leading a small fire-team of vorcha. "The thing about the krogan and vorcha is that they both have a mild regenerative ability, if you shoot one and leave them there without a kill confirmed, after a couple seconds they will get back up to be a problem again." Get just what I need a group of species that just won't stay down when I shoot them. "Alright Dot what about there weapons and armor?" "Right, well for the vorcha, they don't really use armor, and shields, I guess the krogan don't think their worth it." She pulls up, what is probably a mean looking krogan to anyone else in this reality, but no one here has ever seen the Hive. This krogan is covered in armor, the only thing not covered is its head, which even then it has a plate on it so... "now the krogan, the krogan have secondary and where applicable, tertiary systems capable of serving as back-ups in the event of damage to the primary biological structures." She changes the image, showing me the anatomy of a krogan. "They have , for example, 2 hearts, 4 lungs, and... ugh... 4 testicles?" Taking that in for a second, turning to Dot "ugh, why is that relevant?" Changing the image back to the one in armor, "it's not, just ignore that last part, anyways they have all these back up systems in place and are armored head to toe and have a kinetic shield in place."

"Kinetic shield? They don't have proper shielding?" "No, they use eezo for everything here and the most they can do with eezo is kinetic shielding unlike ours." Ah yes, like anyone can just charge themselves with Light. "Now there kinetic shield only reacts to weapons fired at a certain speed, mostly because all of the weapons use eezo as well and they fire at a supersonic speed or higher, so the shield would activate, that does mean that our weapons will more then likely not cause the shields to activate, because our weapons don't fire anywhere near these speeds." She pulls up images of their mostly used weapons. "At the same time, to generate ammunition a weapon shaves a projectile the size of a sand grain from a dense block of metal contained within the weapon." The image's starts to show me a 3d blue print of the ammo block in the weapon, "ammunition is never a concern because of this, but managing its internal heat is."

Nodding my head at what she's saying, its kinda of a ingenious design but, from what I can see they can only fire so much before the weapons overheat. "How do these compare to ours Dot?" "Our Weapons fire fire much slower, and have a higher stopping power behind each shot" She closes out the the screen. "More then likely you would bypass the shield entirely, but at the same time punch straight through the armor of most combatants that we will face in this reality."

Thinking about it, she's right most of the enemies we faced as Guardian, had more armor then shields so we needed piercing power more then anything. "So, how about against my shields?" "At most, and I'm only the theorizing this but you should be able to take more hits then normal. You would look like a monster to them, since we have no need to worry about overheating, we can just keep firing to your targets down, at the same time you would probably tank most of what they shoot at you." She then gives me this look, "that doesn't mean to just stand there and take it though... "

Scoffing at her "come on Dot I'm not that dumb, besides that's just your working theory, I'm not going to just stand there off of a theory... " Nodding at me, "good, while I'm sure I can still revive you, no one in this galaxy can do that, so if you don't want to be hunted down to be dissected, I would keep that on the down low for as long as possible." "Already ahead of you there Dot, while I'm going to use the Light, and my Light based powers, I don't need to be advertising myself to the wider galaxy just yet."

I start to bring use closer to the planet, "what should I be expecting down there?" Looking to my side I see Dot updating the screen with more information, she's doing a scan on the planet it self to show me where the base is. After awhile the screen starts to zoom in on a northern section of the planet, I can see some mountain's "the blood pack seem to have taken over an abandon mountain base, its built into the side of it so there's only one way in and out, the front door." Moving the ship to be over the northern section of the planet, I start entering its atmosphere at an angle to reduce friction and heat build up. "It looks like, from my scans, there's a group of krogan and over a dozen vorcha here, they must be use this place as a training center for the vorcha." Breaking through the atmosphere and moving the ship to bring me as close to them as I can. "No defenses for the front, no torrents, guards, or mines. I guess they were relying on its be in the middle of no where for protection."

"Good, good, how long do you think before the rest of them come back from omega?" I see the entrance and maneuver us to be on the other side of the mountain, I'm going to have to hick it from there. "A couple of days at least, when I stole this information, the leader had just arrived on omega to sell some inventory, and it takes at 3 days for him to make it back, so a day or a two." Setting us down in a ravine that will hide my ship, and I see that it cuts through the mountain as well, a straight shot to the base.

Turning everything on standby mode, so Dot can take control if need be and pull us out of there encase it becomes to heated. Giving Dot the sign that I was ready she transmat's us outside of the ship, and I take my first steps in this reality. While I take a moment to take all this in Dot starts scanning some weird flora growing on the side of the ravine, Taking a deep breath, and catching Dots attention "lets show this reality what a Guardian is... "
