"Did I ever tell you Alpha Jed's son has a girlfriend", Drew said.
It has been over a week now and today was the day Alpha Jed hosted his annual ball which saw different packs coming together to celebrate the full moon.
"I... No", Laura said.
She knew her step brother had a girlfriend since she had seen her on the day she went to scout the area. Laura didn't want to tell him but was waiting for him to say something about it.
"Yep, he sure does", Drew said.
"Tell me about her", Laura said.
"She's a young girl, in fact she'll be eighteen years old today hence the main reason for this ball", Drew said.
Laura was glad about this, it would give him the perfect opportunity to carry out his plans, something he had been wanting to do.
"I see. What's her name?",she asked.
"Her name is Liyah,'' Drew said.
"Okay. What time would we be going over to the ball?", Laura asked.
She needed to know the time if she was to effectively carry out his plans on attacking Alpha Jed and kidnapping Liyah
"Just before the full moon comes out. We're supposed to be at the hall when the moon comes out", Drew said.
"Alright, I'll be ready", Laura said.
He left the cave, heading outside to feel the breeze on his face. She needed to think a bit before she began her plans.
"I'll be setting things in motion," Laura sighed.
He knew that the spirits of the gods were around here somewhere and she needed them to look out for her because she knew she couldn't do it alone.
"I want you to look out for me. I can't do it alone, I need your help", she said.
She smiled, feeling a light breeze tickle her face. She sighed as she felt a gentle touch on her face but it was gone before she could think about it.
Laura walked back towards the cave, her mind and heart already on the task ahead. She had no plans to fail and with her determination, she knew she would succeed.
"It's time, let's go", Drew said.
Shifting into their wolf form, the duo ran into the night, stretching their limbs to their full extent. For the first time in a very long while, Laurafelt alive. She could feel the energy buzzing through her and she knew she would succeed in what she was about to do. Laura wasn't a failure, heck she hardly failed in anything she was doing and she sure wasn't going to start now.
"We're almost there, I can feel the pull", Drew said.
Laura could feel the pull too, it was like a blurb of energy, gradually pulling her closer to the home she was about to destroy.
They got to the mansion soon. Laura stood on the same cliff she was a few days ago as she looked over the house. The building was flooded in light with wolves of different packs going in and out.
"I'll meet you up Drew, I need some time alone", Laura said.
"Alright, take all the time you need", Drew said.
Laura watched him walk away and she knew after what she was about to do, it would be the last time she would be seeing him because Laura had no intention of coming back after she had carried out his plans.
Quickly, Laura Wore a long robe that effortlessly concealed the gun she kept hidden in her pocket. Unknown to Drew and even his pack, Laura had hidden her gun at a far corner of the bag she carried. She didn't want to take any chances since they were traveling but she had failed to get the gun out especially since they were caught off guard.
He didn't know he had a gun, an ammo he had gotten a few years back from a dealer who wanted to sell it badly. Laura knew that with the position she held, there was no telling the things that would happen. She knew he or his wife could be a target and he didn't want to take chances with their safety but now, she had failed to protect the woman he loved.
"This time, I will get each and every one of them", Laura vowed.
He walked down the steep path towards the building. He could make out five to ten guards who stood at the doorway, checking for invites. Laura didn't have one but he knew just how to get in.
"Invite sir",the first guard said.
"I'm from Drew's pack", she said.
The guard looked closely at her, trying to see if she was really telling the truth. Something in Laura's face must have convinced him because within minutes, he ushered Laura's inside. Laura walked into the large hall and he was a bit surprised to see the size. It was huge but knowing who Alpha Jed was, he wasn't surprised. Alpha Jed would always want to have the best things, he would no doubt like to show off his wealth.
Laura's eyes zeroed in on his target. She watched her laughing at what one of her numerous maids said and she had a deep urge to walk towards her and just end it right there and then but she had to wait, she was biding his time as she waited for the perfect moment to strike.
"Champagne ma'am"" a waiter smiled.
Laura's wolf was itching to come out and strangle the living daylight out of the idiot who thought everything was funny. She had suffered so much because of these people and all they could do and care about was their perfect ball and their perfect Alpha.
"Get lost", Laura growled.
The waiter, seeing the mood the guest was in, walked away without another minute to spare. Laura trained her eyes on her target and discovered she had left where she saw her earlier. She growled because the stupid waiter had distracted her and now, she had to begin looking for her.
Just then, she saw a flash of her jet black hair going over a bend. Laura knew she was moving towards the direction of the private quarters. Without wasting any more time, she followed suit, making sure that she wasn't being followed.
Soon, Laura walked into the private quarters of the building, shutting the large door behind her quietly.
She moved quickly, her gun still hidden within her robe. She had a feeling that she wouldn't be needing it this time as the plan he had earlier crafted would do the whole work.
Laura checked each room, finding it empty as most of the family were downstairs, enjoying the spirit of the ball. She didn't know what room Liyah stayed in, which made his work more difficult. She had an inkling that she wasn't far and soon, she found her by the balcony, her back to her.
Up close, Laura saw that her hair was darker than she had imagined and the only thing that distinguished her from the rest of the pack was her nose. Where hers was pointed, her family was flat just like the typical Greek man they were.
"Hello", Laura said.
She had the urge to tear her apart but she controlled himself because she had come too far to jeopardize everything.
She turned around and when she saw her, her eyes took on a soft hue and Laura knew she had her in her grasp
