* NICHOLAS *
"So you agree?" I asked her when we were done with dinner.
"To what?" She asked sipping her wine.
"To be my girlfriend." She choked on her wine but then composed herself, and I chuckled.
"I agreed to a date, one date, not being your girlfriend."
"So that's a no?" I asked deflated.
"No... It's not a no.." When my eyes lit up she spoke again. "It's not a yes either... It's a maybe."
"A maybe?" I asked her.
"Yeah.. I need more time to think." She said as soon as the waiter appeared and I paid for the food.
"Then let me take you out tomorrow. As a second date." I told her and she just stared at me like I was telling her to murder someone. "What?"
"Nothing... A second date?" She furrowed her eyebrows and I nodded, taking her hand and leading her out of the hotel and back into her car.
This is one good car.
"So? What do you say?" I asked her when we were on the road.
"Okay.. I'll go with you." She said and I sighed in relief. "But. I don't want anything fancy like tonight. Something simple and casual." She told me and I nodded my head.
Thank god.
"Good. I wasn't going to take a no anyways." I told her and she smiled as I put my hand on her bare thigh, the touch sending electricity through me. She felt the spark, and I did too.
"I know." She whispered and I glanced at her, a faint smile playing on my lips.
"Did I tell you how beautiful you look tonight?" I asked her and she blushed.
"Yes. Multiple times." She told me and I smirked at the effect I had on her. And the same effect she had on me.
We stopped in front of her house and she looked at the front door before glancing back at me.
"How are you going to get home?" She asked me.
"I'll ask my driver to pick me up." She nodded.
"Do you want to come in while you wait?" She asked me with a hopeful glint in her eye and I couldn't help but follow her inside. We went in and were greeted by darkness, and a faint light coming from the living room. I walked behind her and saw all her friends and sister in their pajamas, sprawled over the living room with snacks everywhere while a movie played on the television.
She flipped the light switch on and everyone flinched and hissed.
"Ah! My eyes! The pain!" Cole cried out but stopped short when he saw me, and gave me a small wave as the others turned around to look.
"Hey man." Cole said and got up. "Dove, finally you came. Come on, we're watching a movie." He dragged her by her hand and she laughed. A warmth filled my chest at the sound of her laughter. It was so soft, so warm, so lively. It was a sound I could get used to easily and yet never get tired of.
"Cole! I have to change!" She pointed to her dress and he finally let her go.
"Fine. Hurry up cause we're gonna watch a horror movie!" He said and looked at me. "You want to join us?"
I blinked my eyes and looked at Dove.
"Do you want to join us for a movie Nico?" She asked me, the name Nico rolling off of her lips easily. Too easily. I gave in.
"I'd love to." I said and her face lit up like a child's as she clapped her hands.
"Oh wait, you don't have any extra clothes.." She sighed and came over to me.
"It's okay, I'll tell my driver to drop them." I told her and she nodded.
"You can freshen up while you wait, come on." She took my hand and led me out of the living room and went upstairs to her room, closing the door behind her.
"That impatient to get me alone?" I smirked at her and she blushed.
"No, I was just giving you some privacy. Ever heard of it?" She bit back and I ran my tongue over my teeth.
She had guts.
I took my coat off when my phone chimed and I looked to see a message from my driver.
"He's here with my things." I told Dove and she ran out of the room, soming back a few minutes later with the bag of my clothes.
"Here you go. Bathroom's there." She pointed to a door and I went in, taking a nice shower to cool myself down a bit. I closed my eyes, letting the water run down when memories of her moaning my name came crashing.
Fuck, she tasted so sweet, so beautiful.
I shook my head, chasing away all my thoughts and stepping out of the shower. Tugging my sweatpants on, and walking out of the bathroom, to see her all ready in a pink silky sleeveless shirt and very small silky shorts matching the shirt, combing her hair. She turned around when she saw me, her eyes roaming my body as her cheeks turned pink.
"Enjoying the view?" I asked her and she looked away smiling.
"Not really." She shrugged and pulled her hair into a ponytail while I put my shirt on.
"Ready?" She asked me and I nodded.
"Ready." I told her and we walked down and into the living room hand in hand.
They had already made space for us on the couch and so we sat there, and I pulled Dove closer to me. She gave me a small smile before resting her head on my chest. I saw Daniel eyeing me from the corner of my eye before settling back into his bean bag.
"So what are we watching?" Abby asked and we all looked at her.
"Any good horror movie." Ava answered and Abby switched through the movies until she found one and played it, turning off the lights. Ava handed us a bowl of snacks and Dove munched on them happily, occasionally popping a chip in my mouth.
Someone screamed occasionally and Dove would often cover her eyes or jump in fright, but I held her close to me.
The movie was about to come to an end and everyone was asleep except me and Cole. Dove was in my lap, her head on my chest as she slept peacefully. She had climbed up on me somewhere in the middle of the movie when she got scared and honestly, I didn't mind it at all.
When the credits started playing, Cole stretched and looked around and then at me.
"Oh you're still awake. Can you take Dove to her room?" He asked me and I nodded my head while he got comfortable in his sleeping bag.
"Sure." I told him and picked her up carefully and went upstairs with her, placing her on the bed and closing the door. I put the blanket on her and turned the lights off, setting my phone on the bed side table and got in the covers next to her, pulling her to me. She stirred a bit and turned to face my chest, burying her face in the crook of my neck.
I inhaled her sweet rosy scent, running a hand through her hair and adjusted us both to make us comfortable. All I remember is holding her close, because I drifted off to a peaceful sleep the next minute.
And I had a feeling the peace came with her.
