When the plane landed we were met by Jake who led us to a very large estate. I looked at it in awe, jumping in excitement. When the car stopped in front it didn't take me a second to get out and look at the huge mansion. Nico observed me and was amused by my behavior.
"Is this your house?" I asked him and he nodded, offering me his hand. I took it and we were met by a man with silver-grey hair in a suit.
"Mr. King, it's good to see you again." He said and Nico nodded. The man looked over to me and gave me a warm smile.
"This is Dove Winchester. She's my girlfriend and will be treated like a King and no less. Understood?" Nico instructed him and he gave him a curt nod.
"It's nice to meet you Ms. Winchester."
"Please, call me Dove. It's a pleasure to meet you too.... um..." I looked over at Nico.
"Richard. Our butler." He told me and I smiled at the man.
"Nice to meet you Richard." I told him and he stepped out of our way to let us pass as Nico led me up the stairs and into one of the many bedrooms in the hall.
"This is the east wing, it's where family members stay. And guests stay in the West wing." He told me and I looked around.
"It's so beautiful. Everything is so lovely here." I said as I observed the golden chandeliers hanging down and the expensive art work hanging on the walls.
"I'm glad you like it." Nico said with a satisfied grin on his face.
"So I'll be staying in the West wing, yes?" I asked Nico who frowned.
"No. You'll be staying here. Close to me." He told me.
"Alright... which room then? I'd like to get changed and take a shower. I desperately need one." I said, eyeing my casual and comfy clothes. A bit too casual.
"Mine." Was all he said with a smirk and led me into the master bedroom. I was awestruck by the modern furniture and the decor.
"Why in your room?" I asked him as I walked around to his bookshelf.
"Because we're together." He shrugged indifferently and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Yeah but... what if people find out I'm staying in your room? What will they think of me?" I said biting my lip and Nico walked over to me and took my hands in his.
"First of all, most of the people here already know we're together. And second, I honestly don't give a fuck about what they think, and neither should you." He said and I nodded slowly, taking it all in.
"Or are you not comfortable with me? There's no pressure, it's your choice, I won't push you to do something you don't want to." He said with a small smile but I noticed the disappointment and hurt in his voice. I shook my head violently and gave him a dazzling smile.
"No." I said and he frowned.
"No as in?" He raised his eyebrow and I laughed.
"No as in I'll stay with you dummy!" I said laughing and he took a breath of relief.
"Oh thank god. I couldn't imagine being away from you. Even if you were in the next room." He said pulling me closer and embraced me, putting his chin on the top of my head.
"Really?" I asked him and he smiled, pulling away.
"Really." He said, kissing the top of my head when someone knocked on the door and Richard came in.
"Mr. King, the luggage is here." He said and Nico nodded to him, and a two men came in with our bags and suitcases. Nico told me to shower and change and meet him downstairs as he had some things to take care of, so I quickly opened my suitcase to find everything packed and ready.
I wonder who packed my things... I'll ask Nico later.
I pulled out a warm sweater and jeans and went to shower in the bathroom. The bathroom was also huge, and the shower was just amazing.
The weather was changing already and I could sense that spring would come early this year. Getting ready I dried my hair and went downstairs, looking around the place. I walked in the hallways a bit, the shiny marble floors reflecting the light from the chandeliers, and saw a study near Nico's room, joined to a very large library.
I saw a living room and a dining room, along with a separate drawing room for guests. I even saw a private theatre there and a pool joined to a large backyard. There was an office and a large store too and soon I found myself wandering into the kitchen, and found Richard instructing the cooks.
"Ah! Ms. Winchester, what are you doing here? If there was something you needed I could have sent a maid to your room." He said and I smiled.
"No need Richard, I was just looking around since Nico's not here yet." I said and his eyes shot in surprise and the cooks and maids turned to look at me skeptically.
"Nico?" He asked me confused and my eyes widened in realization and I laughed.
"Oh I meant Nicholas." I said laughing when a pair of arms wrapped around me and I yelped when I was picked up from behind.
"May I ask who the reason of your laughter is?" I heard the deep voice and I laughed even more.
"Let me down Nico!" I said laughing and the servants all looked at us with wide eyes. When he finally put me down he turned me around and placed a lingering kiss on my lips.
"Who made you laugh like that?" He whispered against my lips and I smiled, pulling away.
"I called you Nico and the whole kitchen turned to look at me horrified. Richard even asked me who Nico was!" I said and Nico chuckled and threw a look to the kitchen staff who scurried away and continued with their work.
"So I'm the reason for your laughter, is that right?" He asked me grinning and I gave him a sly smile.
"Um... Mostly the house. And the backyard and garden and the theatre and oh! the shower too!" I said and saw Nico's face fall and he scowled.
"So you're in love with my house?" He asked me skeptically and I put a hand on my heart.
"I know right! It's just amazing. At least there's some advantage in being with you." I joked and Nico scoffed. We heard laughter behind us and saw Jake approaching us, wiping a fake tear from his eye.
"You got him there Dove." He said and high fived me, then looked at Nico. "She got you good Ace."
Nico scowled and glared at him. "Stai zitto." (Shut up) He said and took my hand and led us to the dining room. When we walked into the dining I saw some unfamiliar faces among some familiar ones talking amongst themselves. They all looked at us when we went in.
Just then Stuart, Nico's cousin walked over to us. His hair was messy and he came smiling to us.
"Ciao bella, long time no see." He winked at me and Nico glared at him.
"Calm down man I'm not hitting on her. I already have a beautiful fiancé." He said and waved to a beautiful young girl with olive skin and long black hair. Her green eyes shimmered as she walked over to us with poise and smiled at me, linking her arm through Stuart's.
"I'd like you to meet Dove Winchester, Ace's girlfriend. Dove, this is my fiancé Adriana." He said and the girl hugged me politely.
"Hello Dove, it's so good to finally meet you." She gave Nico a meaningful look who shrugged.
"È così bella Ace, sei davvero fortunato." (She's so beautiful Ace, you really are lucky.) She told Nico who looked at me and smiled.
"Non avete idea." (You have no idea.) He said looking at me and I forced myself to look at Adriana who watched us carefully with a smile.
"Come with me tesoro, tell me more about yourself." Adriana took my hand and was about to take me with her but Nico pulled me back.
"Non provare niente di stupido Addy o altro." (Don't try anything stupid Addy or else.) He warned her and she gave him a fake smile.
"Non preoccuparti Asso. Non rovinerò la tua reputazione più di quanto non sia già." (Don't worry Ace. I won't ruin your reputation more than it already is.) She smirked at him and dragged me with her and we sat down on two empty seats.
"So, you are the mysterious woman who caught Ace's eye." She asked me smiling.
"I guess so. I don't know how though." I said shrugging and she laughed, her green eyes gleaming.
"You don't know? Just look at yourself bella! Your so dannatamente bello! Absolutely gorgeous! Men must be falling at your feet!" She smiled at me and I shrugged.
"So your Stuart's fiancé?" I asked her and she gave me a big smile and nodded.
"Yeah, I'm also Nico's cousin from his mother's side. Stuart is from his father's side." She said and I nodded.
"Stuart seems to love you a lot." I said and she smirked.
"Oh bella I have him wrapped around my fingers. But yes, we both love each other very much." She said and I chuckled. She looked at me intently for a while and then at Nico.
"You've made a big difference in Nico's life you know." She said after a while and I looked at her.
"How so?" I asked her and she gave me a friendly smile.
"He's... less grumpy now." She looked at me meaningfully. "He's definitely more calmer now. More... happier... after all the unfortunate events that happened in his life, he deserves this happiness." She gave me a genuine smile.
"Unfortunate events?" I asked her and she nodded.
"You know everything about him, yes?" She asked and I nodded. "Then you must know that his mother died when he was young and his father left us too a few years back."
"Yes he told me... His father was killed wasn't he? By Giovanni?" I asked her and her eyebrows rose.
"You know?"
"Yeah I had a little... situation... with Giovanni." I said and she frowned.
"Oh... Yes, I heard from Ace... I'm really sorry for what happened." She said and held my hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"It's okay. I'm trying to get over it." I said and she nodded solemnly, not asking me anything further.
"But you really made a big difference in Ace's life... And we all are thankful and grateful to you for making him smile after such a long time." She said and a smile made its way onto my face.
"Yeah. I guess so... He makes me smile too." I said, looking at Nico and when our gazes met, there was a sudden spark between us as his gaze held mine and he smiled at me.
You made my life amazing Nico, and I love you to the moon and back.
Maybe even farther.
