Alexander Wants A Contract

Cassie was curious. She could not understand why Eleanor decided to keep mute and suffer all those years.

"Well it's no use"

Eleanor had always known, ever since she was a little girl, that retaliating or kicking up a fuss was useless. Alexander had made that clear to her in the most understandable way possible.

Even so, her father had always said she was like her mother -weak and stupid.

Cassie sighed. She snorted hatefully and said, "Your family sucks, boss"

"I know" Eleanor responded with a chuckle.

Recalling something, Eleanor frowned slightly. She dropped her phone. She turned to face Cassie. "Cass, look up a good school for the kids."

"Will do... with pleasure" Cassie immediately pulled out her phone. She started to search through the net.

Seeing this, Eleanor's lips curled up. One thing she loved about Cassie was that she was always on the job. And she was so perfect in everything she did.

Realizing the house has been too quiet since she woke up, she asked, "Where are the kids?"

"I forgot!" Cassie facepalmed. She had forgotten that the kids were not around.

"Jonathan had come early to take them to the park. They won't return until later."

Eleanor nodded.

"You know... Jonathan's a good guy." Eleanor started meaningfully. It was clear what she was trying to do. "And he's single and rich"

Cassie sighed softly. She understood what Eleanor was trying to do, but she didn't respond. Eleanor had always been trying to play a matchmaker between her and a few other men. She could not complain even if she wanted to. Besides, she too was doing the same to Eleanor.

Seeing that Cassie didn't respond, Eleanor stood up. Tying her hair into a loose bun as she walked to the kitchen, she said...

"..oh, and handsome too. You should..."

"Okay okay. I understand you. Thank you!" Cassie could only give up. Given Eleanor's persistence, she knew she could go on and on for days. She wouldn't stop until Cassie's ears were red and sore.

Cassie's frown grew when she heard Eleanor's muffled laughter from the kitchen.

Was she so eager to get rid of her?

'This must be the case' Cassie thought.

Damien was lost in his thoughts for a while.

What the McKinley family publicly announced, was that the Eldest Young Miss had gone abroad to study. But in truth, she was disowned and sent away.

This was truly baffling.

His brows furrowed as he fell into the sea of thoughts.

If people were to know that the Eldest Young Miss of the McKinley family had been disowned for refusing to marry a scumbag, then Mckinleys' reputation would be at risk. So, to save their faces, they lied to the public.

This was his opinion and it very well suited the issue at hand. Though, Damien knew they may be more to it.

"Eddy.." His voice was full of eagerness. Eddy could hear it.

"Yes boss"

Putting his cup of tea down, Damien stood up.

"The report on the McKinley family. How fast can I get it?" Damien asked.

Eddy was dumbfounded for a moment. Did he just hear the great Damien Winters ask him to do something politely? He didn't order, he asked! And also Damien's tone was not cold nor overbearing. Eddy felt as though he was dreaming. He was even about to ask Damien to repeat his request, but he heard it again.

"When can I get it, Eddy?" Seeing that Eddy didn't answer, and was looking at him. Blinking like a lost goat, Damien asked again.

Now Eddy was sure he heard well the first time and did not need a doctor. He eagerly replied, "Before Sunset sire."

Damien nodded and started to walk out of the office. He knew how efficient and reliable Eddy was. So, he was not the slightest bit worried. He was sure that since Eddy had promised before sunset, then surely he would have the McKinleys in the palm of his hands before sunset.

Eddy was in an unusually good mood today. He didn't follow his boss but remained in the office. He wanted to finish the job before the sunset. Since his boss had asked politely for the first time, he would not disappoint.

He watched his boss leave. He got into a chair and sat down. As his fingers tapped away on the keyboard, he hummed happily. Anyone who would see him would know in just one glance that he was happy.

Eddy still couldn't get over the fact that his very own boss had asked something politely.

In the comfort of the Chairman's spacious office, only the sound of keys tapping and a hum could be heard.

"Boss, it seems your family isn't giving up," Cassie said with a grim expression on her face. Her brows were furrowed slightly.

Eleanor looked up from the file she was going through. She stated at Cassie with a confused look. She also had a look of dissatisfaction.

Where were those people up to now? Don't they ever know when to retreat?

Cassie continued. "I just received an email from the Golden inc. It seems that Alexander had a contract with them that was never finalized. Now, he is requesting to know if the contract is still valid."

Eleanor frowned when she heard Cassie's words. Alexander just doesn't give up.

Thinking of it, Alexander doesn't own a company. So how...

"Under which company?" She asked quickly. She only hoped it wasn't what she was thinking. If it was, then...

"Red Empire" Cassie replied.

Eleanor froze. The air in the room had started to become cold, making Cassie shiver. She knew her boss was getting angry. But why?

"That man...." Eleanor said through gritted teeth. Alexander had some guts. It was obvious, he wanted to form an alliance with Golden Inc. to first against her for taking the ZerAnderson Group.

But wasn't that too foolish?

The ZerAnderson Group belongs to her. So does the Red Empire. The Golden Inc. belonged to her too.

After she had put it to bed, her mother's family bought the company and handed it over to her. But ever since it was handed to her, she had never stepped foot into the building. She had only run things from the shadows, letting Jonathan take control of it.
