SIXTY THREE: THE ACCIDENT

[SHAIRA's POINT OF VIEW]

"This will be your second and last chance. If you cheat on me again, I swear you'll never see Tamra and me again, not even this one." I touched my baby bump. I know I made it clear to him. A tear escaped from his eyes as he hugged me tighter.

I told him to loosen his grip, but he didn't listen. Instead, he showered me with small kisses.

"Thank you...thank you... thank you...I love you."

Each kiss carried a heartfelt "thank you" and "I love you." It must be his way of expressing his gratitude for the chance I was willing to give him and assuring her of his deep affection.

My heart softened as I felt the sincerity in Jhotam's actions. I, too, loved him, but trust had been damaged, and the scars run deep. I knew that rebuilding our relationship would take time and effort, especially since there's an innocent child involved in our problem.
