Heavy Fire

Ferdinand, Waylen and Simpson sat in their respective trenches, forming a half circle behind the cave they entered earlier. For safety reasons, they also blockaded the entrance to the cave, even if it blocked one of their escape route. It is a more viable option to escape to the forest than to escape into a cave with only one way out, even though they haven't fully searched the inside of the cave. It is more better to be sure than to risk it and the fact that they might get lost again but this time inside a cave. They don't have the time to pursue risks as it is night time already.

It is an undeniable fact that he couldn't give the weapons that he summoned to his subordinates. Fortunately, the perishables can be given to his soldier, so that immediately solved his food crisis. It seemed like they made it that way to help him; he thought to himself.

As Ferdinand was looking through his belongings, a familiar sound rang through his ear.

[DING!]

[REQUIREMENTS FOR DESTINY QUEST ACHIEVED!]

[MISSION: SURVIVE THE NIGHT]

[REWARDS:???]

Ferdinand looked fairly shocked as he looked through Owl's notice. This is a destiny quest, which means the outcome of this mission will surely make a great impact on his and his subordinates' life and in this world.

He immediately got up and shouted at his subordinates.

"Waylen, Simpson! A destiny quest has been activated. Keep your wits up and be more vigilant. We could all lose our lives once a destiny quest gets activated!" said Ferdinand.

Waylen and Simpson were quite surprised and confused, but as they hear the word destiny, they immediately understand the severity of the situation. It means that something bad is about to happen that could affect their mission and possibly this world, too.

All of them immediately got up on their gears as they prepare for the worst outcome. They waited and waited until it is now high midnight. They were all getting sleepy now., but they still had to stay more active and vigilant so that they could live and make a significant influence on this world.

It is at that time that the cold hush of the winds started making it's way to them and the leaves were fluttering so hard that it gets ripped off from the branches of the trees. To which, as they look above, the moon became red as blood.

Cold sweat ran through their backs as a tingling sensation came before them. Then, as far as the moon, small little dots appeared before them, as the little dots became closer and closer. Then it came an explosive shriek came from a far.

Ferdinand and his subordinates were sweating bullets as the things transpires before them. Fortunately, one thing they is to prepare and to prepare, because the worst is about to come. Soon the flying dots came into eye view and what they saw struck fear in their hearts. They saw men, women and children flying with no lower body part and the faces looked as if they were burned in hell, and those things were now going to their location.

This was the most horrendous things that they have seen so far since coming to this world.

Ferdinand was rapidly thinking if he was going to fire at them or not, but as he decided that, another explosive shriek came into the forest. Soon enough, they could feel the ground was rumbling, and it was rumbling hard.

Faced with a decision, Ferdinand didn't remove the boulder blocking the cave. Instead, he stood and fight and so he does. His decision was made because they weren't sure about the contents of the cave and so he couldn't afford to risk it and being bottlenecked inside the cave. He ordered his subordinates to carefully aim at the walkers on the ground and he will shoot the flying bottomless walkers.

He is more reliable to shoot at the flying walkers in the air as he has more intelligence points and he also has more ammunition as he can directly buy it in the store. Unfortunately for his subordinates, they would have to make do with what ammunition they have. If push comes to shove, they would have to do a melee fight.

Ferdinand noticed that the flying bottomless walkers were still afar and may take for these walkers to reach him a few more minutes, giving him a time of relief to help his subordinates.

A few seconds had passed, and the walkers were now in sight, so he brought out the big gun, The Mark 1 Automatic Rifle. To which he then went out on a firing rampage before the walkers. Even if it didn't hit the spinal cord of the walkers, it would still disable them and that would give enough time for his subordinates to pick other walkers.

Meanwhile, Waylen and Simpson were focusing on their iron sights while they were placed on the sides of Ferdinand. They were picking off what Ferdinand wasn't able to shoot, or they were covering his blind spots.

It was like a ring of fire as they all fire their weapons except with it only having half of the circle. Soon enough a few minutes have already passed, which makes the flying bottomless walkers within range. So Ferdinand switched from firing at the walkers to bringing out the Mark 1 Bolt-Action Rifle.

He then started picking off the flying walkers. Unfortunately, due to them flying, they were essentially moving targets, so Ferdinand have a decreased accuracy. Fortunately, the effect is negligible, as he has a passive ability that let him have increased focus when shooting. Which means he would have a faster time of calculation to pick off the flying walkers and perhaps enough time to pick all of them.

Ferdinand carefully aimed at his sights and when he was ready, he pulled the trigger to which a thunderous sound came before it, picking off a single flying bottomless walker.
