He asked in confusion.
"Well, it's Lamora after all. As I said, it doesn't act at its own will but at someone's command. So... first and foremost, we'll find the Lamora, kill it, and then we'll know who did this."
He explained, and a deep frown of bewilderment ensued on Luthiel's face.
"But... how do we find the snake, or whatever you call it? Wouldn't it have escaped by now?" He inquired.
"Nope. It doesn't act at its own will, so until its victim is dead, it will keep stalking to make sure that its task will be completed."
"Yennefer is not yet dead, therefore the Lamora is still within this castle." He clarified, and Luthiel blinked his eyes, immediately relieved that this would be done faster than expected.
"You stay here and take care of her. I will go find it." He said, and Damian pinched his brows in disbelief.
"Do you even know how it looks?" He inquired.
Luthiel halted his step and turned around to look at him.
"No…" He shook his head, and Damian rolled his eyes at him.
"Will you be able to get us into the royal storage room? I believe the Emperor hid those mythical books there."
He inquired, and Luthiel thought for a moment before nodding.
"Yes, I can." He responded and pushed the door of his chamber open.
"Follow me." He proceeded out of the chamber, and Damian quickly made himself invisible to the eyes and followed after him.
They made their way downstairs and heeded through the passage under the stairs.
"Wait here for me. Am coming," He suddenly ceased, and although a bit confused, Damian obediently waited.
Luthiel hurried to William's chamber, and the guards announced his presence.
William allowed him in, and the royal guards pushed the door open for him.
He stepped inside, and they shut it afterward.
"Your highness." He bowed to William in respect, and William, who was lying on the bed with his eyes fixed on the ceiling, turned his head to look at him.
"Is there a problem?" He inquired, not sure why Luthiel would come to his chamber in the middle of the night.
"No. I am here to request something from you." Luthiel replied.
William arched his brow at him and sat up on the bed. "What is it?"
"Can I borrow the key to the royal storeroom?" He implored, and a bit taken aback, a small frown formed on William's brow.
"The key to the royal storeroom? What do you need it for?" He asked.
"Well, there is something important to me at stake now, so I need to find a book in the royal storeroom." He explained, not bothering to lie, and William narrowed his eyes at him.
"You do know that the things in there are things related to magic, which my father has disposed of, right?" He reminded, and Luthiel nodded his head at him.
"I know, and that's why I believe that the answer will be there." He responded.
"Well, just don't ruin anything in there, or else my father will kill me. No one is allowed in there, not even Manov." He explained, and Luthiel, who already knew, did not utter a word.
William stood up from the bed and walked towards his closet.
He pulled it open and grabbed onto the particular key.
He strolled towards Luthiel and handed it over to him.
"Don't take too much time." He said this despite not knowing exactly what was at stake.
Luthiel bowed deeply to him in gratitude and turned around.
He walked out of the chamber and proceeded downstairs.
He returned to the spot where he had left Damian and called his name to make sure he was still around.
"You have the key!"
Damian's voice resounded, and Luithiel nodded.
"Let's go." He led him down another set of hidden stairs under the stairs that led up to the second floor of the castle.
"Who built this?" Damian suddenly asked.
Luthiel, who had no idea, shrugged. "I don't know."
"Such a genius. I'm pretty sure not everyone is aware of this.
"No one knows about it except a few of us, Damian. And when I say "a few of us," I mean the royal family. I only knew of it because I was around when magic was wiped out. After all, I am the crown prince's personal guard."
Luthiel clarified, and Damian nodded his head in understanding.
A few more minutes passed and Luthiel abruptly halted.
Curious as to why he stopped, Damian looked over his shoulder to see a not-so-tall door in front of them.
"Is this the door?" He asked.
"Yes." Luthiel nodded and pulled the key out of his pocket.
He unlocked the door and pushed it open.
Considering the fact that it has been a while since he last came there, he stepped inside with a bit of hesitation, followed by Damian.
They glanced around the dark room, and Luthiel snapped his fingers, causing the torches within the room to light up in flames.
He shut the door and slowly moved towards the shelves filled with thick books with brown covers and locks.
"They are... still safe..." Damian, relieved to see that the books that told their stories, books that were like their soul, were still good and fine, smiled widely.
Maybe not in such great condition, but it was definitely okay.
"So which book are we looking for?" Luthiel suddenly asked
Damian glanced at him and made himself visible again.
"Thamameire," the books of creatures." He replied, and Luthiel quickly began to look for the book.
Damian did as well, and even after thirty minutes, they were still unable to find it.
"Are you sure you remember what it's called?" Luthiel, now doubting that the book was there, asked, and Damian nodded, very sure that the book was there.
"Yes, I am sure. It's definitely in here somewhere; we just need to search a bit more."
He responded, and out of frustration, Luthiel kicked the iron box on the floor next to his legs.
It fell over and its cover opened, falling to the ground.
A huge, black, thick-covered book fell out of it, and the two of them quickly turned to look at it.
"What is that?"
