Oh what a wonderful savior...

*Swoosh* Ian had his eyes closed, expecting to either die a second time in the span of minutes or be in a shocking amount of pain. But neither happened. Instead when he opened his eyes he saw an orange hair girl with worried orange eyes. Ian automatically recognized this girl as Touru but found it hard to believe. Although he did just come from what appeared to be the afterlife after earth was stricken by some big disaster that "wiped out most of the population" Ian mocked the goddess. "Are you alright sir?" A red haired woman approached from behind. She wore glasses that were just in front of her pretty much dead eyes. "Nope… Not alright" Ian said with a smile before promptly passing out, it had been too much for one day… he needed some time.

When I finally came to my senses I was in a small bed in a fairly unfamiliar and similarly unfurnished room. I looked at my hands and arms which had remained unchanged despite transferring to another world. I heard footsteps approaching and I peered over to a door positioned to the left of the bed. The door slid open and Tohru, still cant believe im saying that, walked into the room. "Ah sir you're awake! Thank goodness." "Uhh… Haha…" I didn't know what to say. It was pretty shocking seeing someone I thought my entire life was a fictional character right in front of me.Thankfully I didn't have to say much as the red haired women from earlier, now registering as Kobayashi, walked into the room as well. "Oh hey… Glad you're awake… Sorry if it was a bit odd to take you back to our place instead of a hospital. We didn't think it would be quick enough to dial emergency services'' Kobayashi said in the monotone voice I had grown so used to. "Oh no it's fine, I'd prefer this over the cold hospital any day." "Well that's good, '' Kobayashi said, getting closer to the bed. "Kobayashi '' she said, extending an arm. I took her hand, "Ian". "So are you a foreigner? Your Japanese is perfect." "My Japanese?" Ian said, quite dumbfounded he was speaking a whole other language. All of the words he had spoken and heard were perfect English. Now that I think of it I did always watch the dubbed version but I guess they are Japanese… I wonder if this happens to have something to do with that guide the goddess was talking about.

Should I tell her about my previous world? Might make things more complicated… And knowing Tohru's character I don't think being from a different world would get me very far. "Oh yeah, I studied for years. Haha… I really loved the culture so I figured learning the language would be enjoyable." Kobayashi nodded and then put on a confused face "So how or why were you falling from the sky earlier? If it wasn't for Tohru that wouldn't have ended well" Kobayashi said jestering to where the orange haired dragon had been moments ago. Kobayashi sighed at the fact her maid had once again disappeared with no word to her. "I don't know honestly… I was just hanging around my house and then poof'' Ian said whilst demonstrating an explosion with his hands. He knew it was probably wrong to lie through his teeth but being from another world could be complicated. And even after that I don't want to break these characters mentally by letting them know they are technically fake. "Well that's odd. We can get to the bottom of that later, this room here isn't currently being used so you can stay here a bit to recover, do you have any parents? Or guardians perhaps? Maybe we can dial them?" I was about to tell them my mom's number when I paused. "No… I don't have any relatives." "Well… I cant just let you go off in Japan on your own.'' Clearly she was too kind if she was just going to let a stranger stay at her home. Then again she seemingly did that a whole lot in the show. A loud bang sounded from the other room as muffled screaming ensued. Kobayashi hurriedly left to check on what madness must already be going on in the next room over. Ian giggled at how much this felt like the few isekai manga he had read. He thought about the game like abilities and then had an idea. "Player Info!" Ian yelled just for nothing to happen. "Uhhh, stats?" Ian said quieter this time for nothing once again to happen. Ian slapped his head, what did that stupid goddess even give me? Once Ian removed his hand from obstructing his view he noticed a reddish transparent panel displaying stat info. "Ah, that's it!" Ian tapped on his palm multiple times opening and closing the panel. Bit of an odd way to do it but sure. Scrolling down the stats list everything was normal, or at least that's what it looked like. There was no way to correlate the stats with actual capabilities. For example Ian had a total of 20 life points. But who's to say whether or not a broken leg is a health point? Ian began reading off all his stats to himself.

The idiotic human part ticked Ian off a bit but his special abilities sounded valuable. He assumed investigating was like appraisal. He figured he would test it by "investigating" the bed. Ian touched the bed with one finger and muttered "investigate" under his breath. Suddenly a robotic voice came out of nowhere and just said "bed". "Well thanks Sherlock I'll have to keep that in mind." Ian brushed it off knowing he could level it up later. Suddenly Ian heard a soft knock at the door as it slid open, he quickly taped his palm and the screen disappeared immediately as Tohru walked in with a bowl of soup and glass of water in hand. "Sorry for the wait, here is some soup. Kobayashi said huma- I mean, she said this might help." "Well I don't believe I'm sick but thanks anyways, my name's Ian" Ian said, grabbing the steaming hot bowl and glass of water and swiftly placing them on the nightstand beside him. "Oh! I'm so sorry for not formally introducing myself! I'm Tohru, it's wonderful to meet you." Tohru said, bowing. Perfectly fine, I should be the one apologizing for taking up so much space and time! Is it just the two of you? "No unfortunately…" Tohru said not even trying to hide her disappointment. "There's Kanna and Ilulu.". Oh so this is pretty late in the second season… "Well that's wonderful, sure they are great." "yeah sure…" Tohru remarked, rolling her eyes. "Well I'll leave you alone for now, byeee" Tohru said, sliding through the creaked door. Ian sighed, realizing lying wasn't going to be easy. Ian was about to enjoy a few more minutes of rest when a lard crash sounded from right outside the room he was in.
