Not The Time

Gemma couldn't stop her body from shaking. She had almost gotten raped. That dirty old man had almost raped her!

She wrapped her arms around herself, feeling naked in the torn shirt.

Her eyes burned with unshed tears but she wouldn't allow them to fall. Now wasn't the time to cry.

"Where are we going?" Gemma asked Miguel as he sped out of the premises of the safe house.

He didn't respond to her question. His eyes were focused on the road his jaw clenched tight. He looked angry.

Gemma was grateful that he saved her from his father, but she couldn't feel at ease yet. Even if he had rescued her from his father, that didn't mean he wouldn't try to do the same or even worse to her.

They were all the same.

"Are you taking me back to my father?" Gemma asked.

"No," Miguel replied in a clipped tone.

"Where are you taking me then?"

Miguel didn't respond, he just kept his eyes trained on the road, not sparing her a glance.

Gemma was foolish to have thought he might take her back to her family. How foolish of her. If he wasn't taking her home where then was he taking her? Was he kidnapping her again?

"Stop the car!" Gemma instructed.

Miguel acted like he didn't hear her.

"Stop this car now!" Gemma said again, this time louder than the first.

"In case you haven't noticed, I don't take instruction from you," Miguel said, still not looking at her.

"Stop this car now or I'm going to jump out!" Gemma threatened.

"I would love to see you try," Miguel said in an amused tone.

Did he think she was joking? Gemma unbuckled her seat belt and opened her side of the door.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Miguel tried to close her door with his right hand while he controlled the wheel with the other. But Gemma struggled the door with him.

When Miguel realized that she didn't care for her life and was truly going to jump out of the moving vehicle, he quickly brought the car to a stop.

Before the car came to a complete stop, Gemma jumped out of the car, running in the opposite direction into the pitch of the night.

It was a lonely road and everywhere was dark.

Gemma didn't have any idea where she was going. She needed to get away from this guy and his rapist of a father.

Gemma could hear the sound of Miguel's feet as he ran after her. He was close but Gemma didn't stop. Her bare feet hitting the dusty ground, She winced in pain when something pierced her left foot, but she didn't stop. She was determined to get away from him.

Gemma let out a loud cry when she felt Miguel's huge body tackle her to the ground and his strong arms pinning her to the ground.

Gemma screamed, hoping someone might hear her and come to her rescue. She kicked and fought Miguel with all she got.

"What the fuck do you think you are doing?" Miguel growled as he yanked her off the ground like she was weightless.

"Put me down!" Gemma screamed hitting Miguel's back with her hands as he carried her over his shoulder back to the car.

Miguel groaned when she bit him on his neck, but he didn't put her down.

"Put me down now!" Gemma shouted, kicking and hitting him.

Miguel finally put her down when he got to the car, pinning her body to the car with his. He was breathing hard from running after she and Gemma were breathing even harder from trying to outrun him.

He pressed her body so hard with his, it was difficult for Gemma to push him off. She no longer had the strength to fight him off anyway. So she just stood breathing hard through her mouth and nostrils.

"Now listen!" Miguel gritted. "I'm trying to save your life here, pulling that stunt you just did, is stupid and you had better not try it again!"

"Then take me back to my family! It's either you take me back to my family or I will run again."

Miguel cussed under his breath as tried to control his emotion.

"You don't get it, do you? I am your best shot at safety! Where did you think you were running to anyway? The only persons you will find around here, work for my father and they won't hesitate in taking you back to him."

Miguel sucked in a breath.

"I know you want to go back to your family. Trust me when I say I am sick of your ass already. I will take you back to your father, but not tonight."

Gemma opened her mouth to say something.

"It's not safe!" Miguel said before she could get any word out. "We need to get to safety first, and afterwards I will contact your father. Pablo and my father's men will be out looking for us. Now, if you want to go back to them," Miguel pointed in the direction that they were coming from. "be my guest. I need not remind you of what will become of you when they get hold of you. If you want to be safe, then get into the car."

Gemma was still breathing hard as she stared at Miguel, she couldn't quite make out his full face in the dark but she could tell he was furious.

"We don't have all night, daddy's girl. Which is it going to be?" Miguel asked, each word dripping with impatience.

"It's hard to move when you have your hard rock body pressed against mine!" Gemma snapped.

Miguel hissed out a breath as he let go of her arm and moved away from her. He watched with a smile as Gemma went to the passenger's seat and sat down.

"If you are coming with me, you had better not try that stunt you just pulled. Have I made myself clear?"

"When you are done whining, kickstart the car," Gemma said, looking out the window.
