KNACK SOME WORDS INTO THE WITCH BRAIN

~Back at Starry Sky Empire~

The Starry Sky mercenaries hall was currently boomed with people moving on about.

Everyone in the Starry Sky knows that the Starry Sky mercenaries hall was the best place to purchase anything that deals with beasts.

Ninety-nine percent of all the beasts core that several malls displayed on their shelves were gotten from the mercenaries hall.

And also, goods sold in the mercenary hall were less expensive than the ones displayed in shops.

In this crowded area, a familiar figure walked into the mercenaries hall.

The lady at the counter saw the figure and said as usual. "Hello. Are you here to put out task or buy some goods?"

"I want to sign up as a member." The figure said.

"Huh." The staff didn't expect that to come out from the person in front of her.

If you could see, the figure in front of her wasn't like the burley guys who visited their hall. Instead, this was a young girl who could be slapped to death by a weak beast.

Seeing that the staff wasn't replying her, Xue Yiran said again, "I heard that you could sign up for membership if you have a C class combat strength."

"Ah, yes but, where are your parents? The mercenary isn't a child play. You'll have to go outside of the safety line." The staff said trying to persuade.

"I know." Xue Yiran looked at the staff who was trying to signal that she was still a young kid.

"How old are you, and where are your parents?" The staff finally couldn't hold it in.

"They're gone. And I'm fifteen this year." She calmly answered.

"Oh." The staff persuasive stance faded. Turns out the girl in front of her was facing a hard time due to her parents death. "Okay then. You should know that beyond the safety line is a very dangerous place. I'll match you up with a powerful team so you don't need to be afraid."

Xue Yiran knew the staff must have misunderstood something, but it was great for her. "I'll like to be on my own."

Xue Yiran didn't want to team up with anyone and would like to venture into the wilds by herself.

"I've seen a lot of people say that but they ended up rushing back to form a team. Although you're eligible for the membership, your strength is too weak to venture alone outside the safety line." The staff smile at the young girl before continuing. "Tyron team had a empty spot due to the leaving of one of their team members, so I'll add you to their team. Don't worry, they're nice people and would love to have you join their team." The staff started to proceed with the membership application.

Xue Yiran light brain was then connected to the Starry Sky mercenaries hall. On her profile was a new information.

[Name: Xue Yiran]

[Gender: Female]

[Age: 15]

[Mercenary guild: Tyron]

[Combat strength: C]

[Mental strength: E]

[Contract beast: Null]

There was also a notification about her joining a group chat.

Although, the staff was doing this out of goodness, Xue Yiran didn't know how to react.

Back in the apocalypse, the word 'team' was something she detest.

She was betrayed by a team. She was almost killed by a team.

When she saw that being part of a team almost cost her life, Xue Yiran decided to scale through the apocalypse world alone.

Hence, she didn't know how to react to the new feelings of joining a team.

The staff saw Xue Yiran dumbfounded look and thought she was stunned. "You don't need to say thanks. Just take it as my goodwill. I'm pretty sure your parents would want to see you live, so do not grieve."

Finally, Xue Yiran sighed softly. "Thanks. I'll get going. Here's a piece of cake for you."

Xue Yiran gave the staff the piece of cake Susu packed among her lunch this morning, before stepping out of the hall.

The staff looked at Xue Yiran departing back and said with eyes full of concern, "What a poor kid."

"That girl gave you something, Esme. What's it?" Another staff who watched the whole conversation walked towards Esme counter.

"Get off." Esme hurriedly picked the cake Xue Yiran gave to her. "This, I'm sharing with no one."

The staff snickered. "I've never seen a thing like that. Who knows if it's deadly?"

"It's none of your concern." Esme didn't like the other party speech.

Aurelia was someone who was employed into Starry Sky mercenaries hall through back door.

Even knowing she got in through the back door, Aurelia was proud, and high profile with it.

She would shout at others saying she could get them fired. She would also butt nose into others conversation.

There were times she would flirt with the rich male mercenary just to latch on to their golden thigh.

Everyone saw her behavior but decided to ignore.

Even if they could talk, it's either they get on Aurelia backers bad side so everyone decide to overlook her tyrant behavior.

"I heard you talking about the Tyron team. Don't tell me you sign up that weak girl into their team." Aurelia rolled the tip of her hair around her finger. "Last time, I told you to let Levi join in their team in exchange for two million coins. But what did you do, you refused outrageously. Now you let some weak girl applied."

Aurelia couldn't believe what was happening.

Who the hell would leave two million coins just to let someone unworthy joined the team.

If she'd knew that the Tyron team would come out as a strong team back then, she would have registered them under her department.

This was her regret till date.

Each guild were head by a certain master. Just like a game where a guild is being created and you accept members into them.

Although the department staff are like an NPC who are to help with the application, they are in a very close relationship with the guild.

If any transactions were to take place between the guild and the mercenaries hall, it must go through the department staff who helped with their application.

Which is the reason why Aurelia had been regretting it. If she had been the one who helped the Tyron guild applied for their membership, she could have gotten Levi into the guild without spending any cent.

"Why should I agree to your request? Do you think you can just do as you want just because we're putting up with you." Aurelia was really stepping out of her way this time. "Don't think because you've a rich backer, you could do as you wish. Last time, I saw what happened in the parking lot. Do you want me to tell that to the world." Esme voice risen a bit garnering some attention from the passersby.

"You..." Aurelia face suddenly went pale.

"What? Afraid." Esme scoffed. "The rich mistress knows how to be afraid this time."

"Esme!" Aurelia screamed, her face gloomy.

"If you don't want me to split it out, never appeared in front of me or else..." Esme showed a smile that said 'I'll boom it out'.

Aurelia gnash at her teeth when she heard Esme threat. "You wait for me!" Aurelia shouted and rushed out of the mercenary hall.

With the trouble maker out, sound of claps resound through the whole hall.

Esme looked up and saw the other staffs cheering her up.

"Good justice, Esme."

"Go, Esme."

"Finally, someone knack some words into that witch brain."

Esme burst into a laugh when she heard that statement and bowed. "Thanks so much."

She also apologize to the customers for causing some disturbance and resumed back to her work.

Esme arrived at her home latter in the evening. She was about to undress when she felt something in her pocket.

Esme reached inside and brought out the cake given to her at the hall.

"Oh. I almost forgot this." Esme smiled and unwrapped the strange thing given to her by the girl.

"What's this." Esme stared at the strange thing and bring it closer to perceive it. "It has some strange scent and smell nice too. Is this for eating."

Esme brought the strange thing to her mouth and took a bite. "Hmm." Esme eyes widen. "This... this is so good." Esme finished the whole wrapped.

"She really gave me such a delicious thing. It's must be very expensive right." Esme mind thought back to the girl who gave her this thing with a calm look. "I should thank her whenever I see her."
