I Accidentally Broke Your Toy

Scarlett didn't know how long she had been unconscious. However, her body felt very light, as if she was floating above the clouds.

"Scarlett, why are you here?" a soft voice from a woman made Scarlett open her eyes.

Scarlett widened her eyes when she saw that she was in a room that looked familiar. A thunderstorm sounded from outside, and flashes of lightning lit up the completely dark room.

"This must be a dream," Scarlett whispered to herself.

She couldn't believe that the scene in front of her was real.

The room that Scarlett now occupied was her late mother's room.

Scarlett was standing in front of the bed, staring at her mother's body which was hanging from the ceiling. Her mother's eyes were bulging, showing the blood vessels that had popped up due to the rope pressing her neck.

Blood was pouring from her mother's eyes, ears, and nose, but the woman still managed to ask Scarlett, "What are you doing here?"

"Mother?"

"Yes, it's me, your mother." Adrianna tried to show her smile to Scarlett. However, that smile looked terrible in Scarlett's eyes.

Scarlett took a few steps back. The sight before her was not something she was happy with. Moreover, the thunder and lightning never went away, increasing Scarlett's anxiety.

"Scarlett, I miss you." Tears of blood rolled down Adrianna's cheeks. "I miss you so much, my daughter."

Adrianna stretched her hand at Scarlett. Her gentle voice suddenly turned into a scream, "Please, accompany me here, Scarlett! Don't leave me alone!"

"You chose to die yourself! Why did you have to ask me to accompany you!"

Scarlett threw things in the room at Adriana. However, Adrianna's body seemed to have no physical form, so the object Scarlett threw went through her body.

"Why are you so mean to Mother?!" Adrianna screamed loudly, the rope around her neck snapping so she could stand on the bed.

"Didn't you always want to be with Mother? Therefore, Scarlett, stay here with Mother." Adrianna shuffled toward Scarlett.

Scarlett screamed, "I'd rather go to hell than stay here!"

Adrianna was silent for a few moments before finally walking quickly toward Scarlett. Scarlett suddenly closed her eyes because she didn't want to see her mother's face.

Gasp!

Scarlett gasped when she opened her eyes. Scarlett tried to control her panting breaths, her eyes blinking a few times to adjust to the light that had suddenly entered her retinas.

"Sister! You finally woke up!" Silvano's screams managed to wake Scarlett up completely.

When Scarlett cast her eyes in all directions, she realized she was in a hospital bedroom. The sound of the heart monitor greeted her ears, and the scent of medicine entered her nose.

She finally got out of that nightmare.

"Doctor! My sister already woke up!" Silvano screamed wildly outside the room, causing three nurses and one doctor to rush into Scarlett's room and examine her.

After checking Scarlett's pulse, vision, and the wound on Scarlett's stomach, the doctor spoke, "Mrs. Lombardi, can you hear me well?"

Scarlett massaged her forehead, which felt sore, then answered in a low voice. "Yes, I can hear you."

The doctor smiled. "Fortunately, the fired bullet did not hit your vital organs, so your life was not threatened."

"However, you still need time to recover fully. Thus, I advise you to stay in the hospital until the wound dries up."

Scarlett, "No need. I have many things I must do. I'll be out of the hospital if I'm feeling fine."

Before the doctor refused, Silvano had already shouted, "Scarlett! Don't be stubborn! Your health is the most important thing now!"

"Silvano, stop yelling. You're making my head hurt even more."

Silvano's face immediately turned pale. "Your head hurts? Doctor, what happened? Was the wound not sutured properly? Or my sister has an infection? Doctor-"

"Silvano, shut up," Scarlett interrupted.

The doctor sighed and smiled. "I will give you painkillers to make you feel better. As for your return … we can talk about it again when you feel better."

After giving medicine to Scarlett, the doctor and nurses left Scarlett's room. Even though they didn't know Scarlett's true identity, they felt uncomfortable being too close to the VIP guest.

"Scarlett, do you want me to get you something?" Silvano picked up an apple on the counter, "Would you like me to peel an apple?"

"Silvano."

"Yes?"

"Isn't there still something we should discuss?" Scarlett's tone turned serious; she even glanced at Silvano sharply.

Silvano gasped in surprise. The apple in his hand even fell because his hand started shaking. "Sis … sister, you've just recovered, so why not rest more instead of dealing with things that will give you a headache?"

Before Scarlett spoke, Silvano had already stood up from his chair and walked quickly towards the bedroom door. "By the way, I just remembered that the drinks in this room ran out. I will ask the nurse to bring more water."

Silvano stormed out of the room as fast as the wind, not even allowing Scarlett to retaliate.

Scarlett breathed roughly, her eyes fixed on the two jugs of water that were on the table.

She clicked her tongue. "Tsk, such a brat."

Scarlett pulled the blanket up to her neck, then stared at the ceiling for a few moments. She tried not to go back to sleep because she didn't want to deal with her nightmare again.

"Why is this room so quiet?" Scarlett asked herself.

Cerano was probably temporarily taking over Scarlett's job, so it was natural for him not to accompany Scarlett.

The woman took her handphone, which Silvano placed beside the bed. When she checked the date on her cell phone, Scarlett frowned.

"I was unconscious for three days?" Scarlett grumbled, "Ah, it sucks! I can't play with my toys."

Thinking of her toys, Scarlett immediately thought of someone who hadn't visited her either.

Her finger moved swiftly as it pressed against that person's contact.

The sound of a telephone line rang for a few moments before she finally heard a man's voice. "Scarlett, are you awake?"

"If I haven't woken up, how can I call you?"

Dante laughed over the phone. "Yes, what you say makes sense."

"Dante ..." Scarlett's voice sounded seductive as if she wanted to seduce him. "My toy … where is he?"

"I accidentally broke your toy, so you can't play with him anymore," Dante answered. His voice was calm when he spoke of Russo.
