So many things are happening at one time right?

"Who are they?" Sarin asked as they entered the empty carriage as the 'boys' walked towards them.

"The leader is my sister's love but we have never been on the same page since he's such a pain" I sat opposite to her.

"Hi Bethany, I didn't miss you by the way" he said joining them plus two more men.

"I wouldn't miss you even in my death" Beth said.

"Lies, anyways where's my Ava, she should be with you right?"

"Yes she should but she handled things on her own quite better" the carriage was moving now.

"What happened, why are you out here?" another colleague asked pointing to the direction they just came from.

"I opened a gate and it dropped me off there, I guess it's Eva's fault she has over used her power" she said thoughtfully.

"Am not sure that's entirely true since the gates and portals too have been reacting the same lately" the conversation took a serious turn.

"Really?" Beth looked genuinely surprised as her sister's love took charge of the conversation.

" There had been some reports previously but it was pushed back but lately, it's occurring at higher rates but the queen won't let any research take place" he says and then looks at Sarin who suddenly becomes nervous.

"She won't let go, will she?" Beth asks looking at the men who are deep in thought.

Rhetorical question.

"Anyways, who is this beauty you brought with you Bethany?" all eyes turned to look at her.

"She's Sarin, she was my assignment" Bethany says looking out the the small carriage window.

"What do you mean 'my assignment'? Sarin asked curiously already forgetting and not noticing the widened eyes of the men around her.

"Don't worry Sarin, you'll understand soon" a man with long black hair with a pony tail at the back of his head said with a smile.

"Home sweet home" Pony tail said as they alighted all at once. They were in the middle of thuck bushes so Sarin wondered where was the famous home.

"Just follow me Sarin" Beth said and guided her through the thicket and her eyes widened in surprise.

It was a castle, one of the prettiest and majestic castles she ever saw. It was on a hill standing proud of it's beauty. It had four peaks, those that she could see, it was white almost like a snow castle but with golden hue to it too.

Sarin could feel the happiness from the men behind them as they talked and most probably because they were excited and also Beth seemed the same. This was obviously more than a castle; it was a home for everyone in these parts.

"You'll need to take a shower first before anything so that you can meet the queen" Bethany said as they crossed a drawbridge which lifted immediately they got to the other side.

"You do know that you've not told me why exactly you brought me here" she said looking at the castle's exterior once more and now they were in.

"Why did you follow me then?"

"Because I have nothing to live for in Cunningham plus you said those Bandit guys were dangerous"

"True, you'll know soon enough, here you're under my care" they stood as the guys carried on without them but not before she noticed the curious looks they gave her. She nodded.

"Show her to her room and give her anything and everything she needs" Beth said to no one particular but some maids appeared behind her and she followed them.

The walls were majestic especially now that she was inside the castle. There were intricate paintings on the ceiling, and it looked beautiful.

Everything about this castle was just alluringly beautiful. Somewhere deep down she hoped she could stay here forever, live here, know all the hallways and secret doors and everything about even it's history, that was the hopeless desire in her mind.

After all, she didn't have any family to live for and her circle of family had been reduced to just her, maybe coming here would turn on a new leaf. But she hadn't entirely forgotten about her mother and father and although she felt sad about what her mother did, she was still her mother after all and in the end she had been guilty of her actions.

"This will be your room from now on but you'll be sharing with someone who will be coming soon but for now you're alone, would you love to take a bath now?" the pretty decent maid with a decent smile asked. She looked so innocent and young.

"Yes I would, Thankyou" she dissapeared behind the divider. The room was big with two huge beds plus a divider separating the two beds there was a balcony opposite the beds but no window. Double doors to close the balcony and tall curtains Infront of them. The walls were cream in color with traces of gold.

The beds sheets were teal colored.

"The bath is ready" she went to divider undressed and bath herself quietly.

"Put this on, Bethany is waiting just outside" the maid walked out with a smile. The dress was casual but with lighter material than those from home, bare arms, V shaped neckline and it reached just above her ankle.

It was weird in some way, she thought.

Walking out, "Let's go?"

"Where to Beth?" she still followed.

"The queen wants to see ya" While looking at the castle's ceiling which had animated drawings she bumped into someone's body.

"Am so sorry" she said quickly walking back. He was tall with short hair, huge body frame and baby face, he just smiled but it faltered immediately he looked at her.

She was nervous all of a sudden.
