Crystal Queen, Lightning Empress

A bit of distance away from the battlefield, two shadows were quickly moving through the empty street that seemed to have been deserted for a long time.

The two silhouettes revealed themselves to be a ponytail and a fox girl — Luna and Mina were running as fast as possible while trying to reserve their stamina.

"How long until we get there?" Luna asked worriedly as she glanced at Mina.

"We should be there soon." Mina replied, then added after a moment of silence. "Ah! Speak of the devil."

A barren land that was full of broken debris and pieces of shattered buildings laid everywhere started appearing in front of them.

Luna and Mina increased their speed and were met with a horde of monsters running rampant, destroying everything in their path.

The duo nodded their heads slightly in prior agreement, and they dashed forward at the same time.

Mina confronted three grey-skin ogres which made them growl crazily and jumped at her.

The former snapped her fingers and multiple crystal bullets materialized out of thin air, then they started spinning like whirlwind before shot at the three ogres.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

All the bullets hit the Corrupted's vitals but they were only pushed back for a few meters with some surface wounds inflicted on their steel-like skin.

"...Tsk. Tough skin bastards." Mina clicked her tongue before retreating a little away and snapping her fingers again.

Three crystal golems got spawned in front of the fox girl and they immediately crashed head-on with the ogres.

While the six were still wrestling, Mina made a snapping gesture again as the crystal creatures got armed with weaponry.

With a sudden advantage, the golems instantly overwhelmed the abomination as the latter were directly stabbed in their hearts.

Mina dismissed her summoned creatures and breathed out a sigh of relief.

After making sure that there was temporarily no more threat around her, she shifted her gaze to the ponytail girl who was battling two Corrupted a bit away from her.

Luna rolled away to dodge an essences bomb flying in her direction. She then dashed at the creature that attacked her, the dagger in her hand crackled with blue lightning for a second before swinging horizontally. The rat abomination got fried into crispy meat and died instantly.

She didn't celebrate as she shifted her attention back to the other Corrupted which raised its sharp claws to cut her apart.

Luna sidestepped perfectly and grabbed the cat on its hind leg, she activated her ability and began channeling high-voltage lightning at the cat.

"KYARGHHHH!!!" The beast screamed painfully before falling and it died.

Luna kicked the black corpse away with contempt before turning to the fox girl as she asked:

"You're done?"

"Way before you did."

"Let's go then." The ponytail girl nodded and the two started sprinting to the center of the warzone again.

"Hmm? Some people are approaching." Mina pointed her hand at the duo's right while looking at them with caution.

Four individuals were coming closer to Luna and Mina which made them stop running and changed into battle stances.

The four revealed themselves to be a handsome young man in his late twenties, a black-haired woman with a face that went through plastic surgery, a young lady in her twenties with a bob-cut, and a middle-aged man with an arrogant look on his face.

"Ryan, Tiffany, and...who are you two supposed to be?" Luna asked while scanning at the two unknown persons.

"Yuna. Government." The bob-cut girl named Yuna answered curtly.

"I'm Jackson from the Augustus family." The arrogant man replied while looking at Luna and Mina lustfully.

The two frowned a little when noticed Jackson's gaze before changing their looks to that of contempt.

"I see. The Johnson didn't send anyone?" Luna asked puzzledly.

"Unfortunately no, they said they don't want to lose valuable manpower." Yuna spoke with scorn in her voice.

"Coward dogs as usual..."

"Anyway, big sis should be fighting right now. We should go and help her quickly." The ponytail girl pointed her finger in the direction of the battlefield.

After that, Luna and Mina disappeared from the four people's vision. They looked at each other for a moment before swiftly following behind.

The group of six soon arrived at the center of the fight and noticed something weird.

At a particular skyscraper, thousands upon thousands of spiders were crawling on every corner of the tower.

The sight of this made the six people feel chills running down their spines, especially Tiffany who hugged her boyfriend — Ryan's arm tightly in fear.

"What are those spiders doing...?" Jackson asked in an anxious voice.

"No idea bu-" Luna was about to say something when she suddenly paused and looked somewhere else near the building.

"Is that...a Mother Spider!?" She said in a terrified tone while still staring at the giant mutated spider.

The others also followed her gaze and some of them took a step back in fear. They gulped down nervously before Ryan spoke:

"Is that...a Mutated?"

"Yeah...that's most likely the case."

"...Someone's up there!" Mina's fox ears twitched slightly and she said in a surprised voice.

"...I can't see anyone. Are you sure?" Luna turned to her and asked doubtfully.

"I'm certain. I sensed human movements on top of the Mother Spider."

"Is that person planning to attack it?" Yuna glanced at Mina for a moment before turning to the spider again.

"Most likely so. We need to help whoever's up there! Scatter into formation now!" Luna commanded the bunch like she was their boss even though they had only met just now.

The others except Mina weren't comfortable with how the ponytail girl was ordering them, but the situation did not allow them to argue like a bunch of kids.

Once they had prepared Luna shouted in a loud voice:

"On my command...FIRE!!!"
