Nikolas sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair then turned back to Aurora.
"This doesn't mean you're not in trouble, Aurora but we have to deal with your sister first." He muttered, then grabbed Veronica's arms and pulled her out of the room while she pleaded with him.
As soon as they had left, Her mother walked up to her with a guilty look on her face.
"This is all my fault. I shouldn't have left Veronica in charge of you at a very young age. I didn't… I didn't know she tried to bury you" Aurora sighed.
"She did and I don't even know how I remember that but it's all good now. At least, all her antics didn't get me killed. Even if I have a weak heart, I'm still alive and that's all thanks to the Demigod you and father are milking like a cow" Aurora said in a breath then turned away from her.
She loved her mother to bits but she was a bit of a pushover most of the time. She always went along with what Nikolas wanted no matter if it was unreasonable or bad all because of love.
"My love? We are just looking out for you and…."
"Don't look out for me, mother. I'm not a child anymore. Just because I have a weak heart, doesn't mean I can't take care of myself. I'm fine and I haven't fainted in so long and you want to know who's to thank for that? Xavier. Anytime he's close to me, I feel stronger so why, why do you and father want to take that away from me?" She sighed then bowed her head slightly, something she always did when she was tired or frustrated.
"Because you are just a normal wolf, Aurora. I have seen first hand what he can do and they have never been good. He's very Powerful and can kill thousands in just a single blink of an eye. You don't understand how dangerous he is because he can't use his powers fully. Listen to me, Aurora. He's only being nice to you because he's up to no good so be careful because I know no matter what I say, you're still going to go to him" Her mother murmured and the worry on her face made Aurora frown but before she could say anything, her mother hurriedly walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.
Aurora stood there for a while, processing what her mother said, then she moved over to the bed and sat down slowly with a complex look on her face. Could her mother be right about the fact that Xavier was just being nice to her because he wanted her to pull out the stake? If she pulled it out? Will he kill her?
She shook her head, trying to get rid of that thought. Even though she knew Xavier wanted to use her to take out the stake, there was a part of her that believed his attitude towards her wasn't all fake. Sometimes, she could have sworn she saw some kind of emotion when he spoke with her. Could he be faking that? Impossible.
She was about to lay down and rest when she heard a knock on her door.
"Mother? Is that you?" A deep voice chuckled.
"No, my lady. It's Steven" Her eyes widened slightly then a smile appeared on her face. Even though she didn't have romantic feelings for Steven, after Xavier, he was the only friend she had.
"Oh, come in" Steven walked into the room with a smile on his face. There was something about his aura that bothered Aurora but she couldn't put her finger on it. He just seemed…. Different and she had noticed that that night they had gone for a picnic.
"Are you okay?" He questioned as he pulled a chair towards her bed and sat down on it. She noticed he was fighting the urge to cross his legs, a habit She had never seen Steven do before and the only man that had ever crossed his legs in front of her was Xavier.
"Yeah, why won't I be?" He tilted his head. An action only Xavier did as well.
"Because I saw your sister being dragged down the hall, screaming so I thought something had happened to you" She smiled.
"Thank you for worrying but I'm good. I was just about to rest" He frowned.
"Where's the fun in that? Let's go out for a stroll so you can enjoy the breeze and feel more at ease. What do you say?" She narrowed her eyes on him. At least he was speaking like Xavier but he wasn't speaking like Steven either. Was he really Steven?
"Erm… I don't think my parents would want to see me outside right now" He moved his chair closer to her then grabbed her hand.
"Since when did that stop you from sneaking out?" She didn't want to go back with him but she found her head nodding even before her mouth could open, making her gasp while he just smiled.
He stood up then pulled her up and she gasped again when she fell on his chest. She looked up and her eyes widened when she glanced at the pair of unfamiliar eyes.
"You are not Steven" He grinned.
"Took you too long to notice, princess" Her eyes widened further. She placed her hand on his chest as she tried to release herself but his hold on her was strong.
"Let me go, now" She uttered with a stern look but he just cooed at her.
"Now I see why Xavier is getting attached to you, Wolf. You're like a child and he's feeling responsible for you after lending his blood to you so you can survive" She gasped.
"Who… who are you and how… how do you know all this?" He smirked then leaned closer to her ear.
"I'm just a loyal follower that would do anything to get his master out of the cage he has been placed in and the only way to do that is to get rid of the reason he's being locked up which is you" Her eyes widened but before she could even say anything, he snapped his fingers and she immediately lost consciousness and fell on him.
"Don't worry, Xavier. I'll do what you are unable to do and kill them one by one. Don't hate me but I'm going to start with you little wolf" After saying that,he vanished with her in his arms….
