CHAPTER 9.

XAVIER'S POV:

She screamed but not in the good way. "Laura, calm down!" I yelled as she kept trashing my office. Jesus lord, what have I done this time?

"You said you loved me!" She cried. I know I did. I just didn't mean it.

"We can't talk while you're this angry baby. Please just calm down." I coaxed and she glared at me with furious eyes.

"Don't you dare call me that again. Why her?! It could've been me!"

I realized she was jealous of Quinn. Why would she? Quinn was just going to get my last name and nothing more. The girl despised me to the core.

"Laura. I'm sorry. You and I know this is for the best." I said as she looked down with tears in her eyes.

"I was pregnant."

My head shot up. The hell did I just hear?

"I didn't want to tell you or sound desperate so I got rid of it." She whispered. "Laura? Why didn't you tell me!" I snapped.

She got rid of my child! My heir! The main reason I was being pressured into this marriage was to produce Heirs for both businesses.

"I didn't think you'd want it. I mean it's okay because we can just make another one." She said and I gave her a look.

"You don't just make babies Laura." I snapped and she sighed.

"Just leave. you can still keep your job but whatever history we have is in the past." I said lowering my self on to my seat.

She walked out of my office just as my Father walked in.

"A lot of broken hearts eh?" He joked and I sighed.

"Dad. What brings you here?" I asked sitting upright. "No particular reason son. I just want to drop your mother off at The Andrews. She's with Lily." He explained.

Lily is my baby sister. She's twins with Lucas. Those two are a recipe of disaster that I can never get right.

"The Andrews? Why though she's probably in school. Where's Lucas?" I asked. My question was answered as he ran into the office.

"Xav,Nicoiscomingtocatchmewhereisthebesthidingspotyouhave?" I barely caught on to what he said and just pointed at my study. He thanked me before running off.

Dad chuckled as he turned back to me.

"For a 13 year old, He talks alot." I grumbled.

"When is the wedding happening?" Dad asks and I shrugged.

"Next week." I answered.

"Isn't that too soon? Is she even aware?"

"I sent her a text explaining everything." I said and was just stared at.

"Son, are you crazy? That is no way to inform your bride about matters like this!" He chided and I frowned.

"She's okay with it. I'm certain. I'll be sending her dress today." He shook his head at me.

"You need to let her trying to make the best out of this situation. You shouldn't pick her wedding dress. You have no fashion sense."

I took offence to his words. After all, I picked out the dress she wore for the engagement.

"I understand we as your parents are pushing such heavy responsibilities on your shoulders, but your happiness is also a priority." He explained.

Well, if they really wanted me to be happy, They'd leave me the fuck alone.

After talking for a while, I walked him back to his car where my mother jumped out and pulled my into her arms.

"You're never home anymore." she said and I smiled. "I've been so busy. I promise to come soon." I said and she smiled.

"When you do, bring her along."

I nodded and bent to peek in the car.

"Hey Lils!" I said and she smiled at me. Her silver eyes sparkled. "Xavy! I missed you." She said as I laughed.

"I missed you too. I promise to stop by the house later." I said. Nico finally brought Lucas back to the car and they were off.

I stood for a few moments with Nico beside me.

"Nico? How do you do this?" I asked with a tired sigh. He only smiled.

"There's nothing to change. They'll still learn and understand you with time."

I felt a lot better after hearing that.
