As my family left, I looked at Arthur who stood by the door.
"Tell me, why do I get the odd feeling that you have been planning this for some while now." I asked looking at him skeptically.
"I'm a good actor from what I've heard." he said with a haughty look on his face. "And you'd better be grateful you had me hear, or else you'd have to wake up to your beloved Cordelia."
"What do you mean? She can't have had the face to come by while I was in the hospital." I said, my features starting to harden.
"She did. She came by just a few hours ago, telling me to leave so that she could be the first person her 'lover' would see when he wakes up." he snickered, making me feel worse. God, why was I such an idiot to fall for her?
"Ugh. Shut up." I said as I got up from the bed and looked around to see a bag sitting on one of the chairs.
I picked it up and looked inside to find a set of clothes. Walking over to the attached bathroom I changed out of my hospital garments.
As I walked out of the bathroom, I saw Arthur standing by the door waiting for me.
"Finally your here, c'mon let's go." he said, opening the door, his tone visibly impatient.
"You say it like I took an hour." I said, rolling my eyes at his impatience.
"You were in there for a long time, I almost considered checking if you were dead or not." he said, his voice laced with sarcasm as he hopped on the balls of his feet towards the elevator.
"Very funny." I said, pinching the bridge of my nose in annoyance looking at his child-like behavior. Could he even be considered a teen in an alternate world with his behavior?
Getting onto the elevator, I pressed the parking level button and the elevator started moving downwards.
"So, since we have the first two issues solved, how about the last?" I asked looking at Arthur as he tapped his fingers in a rythemetical way on the walls of the elevator.
"There was more?!" he shouted with a shocked look and I could tell what he was thinking before he even voiced his thoughts, "How many more issues do you have?!"
"Lots and the one I need help with now is how am I supposed to get past this act in front of Pearl." I said leaning my head back and looking at the light in the ceiling part of the elevator.
"Well, that's simple, just act like you don't remember anything. Since you two got married over a year ago, you can just act like you don't remember the events of the past year." Arthur said with a shrug as the elevator stopped in the parking spot.
"Sure. But with how sharp she is, it won't be long before she figures out something's up." I said, evident sarcasm present in my voice. We started walking towards his
"Fine then, just act like your deeply in love with her, and I'll just explain to her about your memory loss." Arthur said, a satisfied smirk playing on his face, as he walked up to his car and opened the door to the driver seat, and sat down.
*Sigh* "Alright, genius. Then what should I call her?" I said, sitting down in the passenger seat and closing my door.
"Hm?" he hummed in confusion, as he started the car.
"If I'm gonna act like a lovesick fool, I need a good nickname to make my act sound believable." I said, strapping in my seatbelt.
"Hmmm." he hummed thoughtfully as the car got onto the highway. I just sat there and looked at him, waiting to see if this idiot could come up with something food.
"Goddess."
"Huh?" I looked over at him in confusion.
The car stopped at the signal as it turned red and he turned to look at me. "Goddess. It sounds like the speaker is lovesick and is in deep love." he said, an unknown expression on his face.
"You- How- Forget it. I put you up to it anyways" I said, leaning over in my seat as he turned back to the road.
Goddess. Such a stupid and foolish thing to call someone. I'd never even considered calling Cordelia love, now he wants me to call the woman I didn't even agree to marry Goddess? Yeah, no. That was not gonna happen.
The car started moving again and in no time we had already arrived in the street leading up to the house..
