Arthur What's Wrong With Him?

I pranced around the huge living room, my face shown with worry as I glanced at the windows next to the door to watch as the light outside began to dim as the sun started to set, making my worries worse.

[Where is he? It's been three days.] I pondered as I walked about the room. Sighing in exhaustion, I sat down in one of the armchairs close to the door and held my head in my hands.

Right at that moment the door flew wide open, and David walked in, followed closely by Arthur. I sighed in relief and stood up.

"Pearl~ I'm back~" David said as he ran over and hugged me making me sit back in my seat.

"W-what Th-the--" I stammered, as I sunk deeper into the cushioned armchair.

"Ahaha.. David, you might want to get off of her." Arthur said with a chuckle, as he sat down in another armchair.

"Mmmm, No." David said, his tone stubborn and leaving out any room for reasoning as he fiddled with my hair and buried his head into my neck.

I could feel my face heat up, I probably looked like a tomato. I got so flustered that I didn't even notice that Arthur had walked over and was standing in front of us.

"David, You're making her uncomfortable." Arthur said, pulling at David's arm to try and get him off me, but David simply slapped his hand away.

"Uhh, Arthur, what's wrong with him?" I said as I tried to calm down my racing heart.

*Sigh* "It's nothing Pearl he's just being an idiot after what happened." Arthur said with a sigh. He walked over to the table and poured himself a glass of water.

"Wh-what did happen?" I spoke, the worry in my eyes back as I stared at him while he jugged the water down his throat. "Where was he these past few days?"

"Don't worry, I'll explain to you, but first.." he said, wiping his mouth on his sleeves. He took hold of one of David's legs and pulled him, "Get off of her David!"

"No!" David screamed, clinging to the armrest for support as he kicked Arthur's hand with his other foot. A minute later, Arthur lay on the ground panting after being kicked in the stomach by David.

David just went back to holding me by my waist and burying his head in my hair.

"Pearl~ He's being mean~" David whined, rubbing his cheeks against my neck.

"H-how is that?" I asked, looking down at Arthur who lay there on the carpeted floor, an ugly expression on his face.

"He's trying to separate me from you.." he answered, pulling out from my hair and looking at me with a grieved expression.

"Well, David! I honestly think that you should at least not disturb your poor wife who you've already worried so much." Arthur said, still laying on the carpet, his tone holding a sense of foreboding.

"I-I'm not disturbing her.." David said, slightly glaring at him. "R-right, Pearl?"

Huh? Why are you pulling me into you twos riff-raff? I don't want to get involved.

"O-Ofcourse not, but David, how long has it been since you woke up today?" I asked, worry once more present in my eyes.

"Oh, I woke up a few hours ago." he answered, looking at me with an innocent look on his face.

"Well.. Have you eaten since you woke up?" I asked my voice a little stiff and holding worry.

"No." he said, touching the tips of our noses together.

"Huh? Arthur didn't you make him eat?!" I inquired from the man still lying on the ground.

"I tried, OK? But your dear husband refused to eat anything till he saw his darling wife." Arthur said, standing up and hovering a few feet behind David. He slowly moved his hand towards David's collar, and before pulling him he yelled, "C'mon!"

"Gah!" David gasped out loud as he fell to the ground.

"Y-you okay there, David?" I asked looking down at him worriedly.

"Mhm." he hummed, smiling up at me. Standing up, he glared at Arthur who had gone back to occupying a further armchair, and was about to sit back next to me.

"Why don't you go to the kitchen and get something to eat?" I asked.

He stood there for a few seconds staring at me as if contemplating if he should obey my words, then, "Okay, I'll be right back!" he said cheerfully and ran towards the hallway leading to the kitchen.

"Now explain." I said as David's shadow disappeared, turning to Arthur with a serious expression.

"Well.."
