Opening the double doors, I was ready to go and start searching for Pearl and get the act started. Looking around the living room, I saw that there was no need to look for her as she was sitting on a nearby armchair and was about to stand up.
"Pearl~ I'm back~" I said, my voice sickly sweet as I ran towards her and hugged her, making her sink deeper into the armchair.
"W-What th-the-" she stuttered as I hugged her tighter and hid my face in her hair.
"Ahaha, David you might wanna get off of her." Arthur said with a chuckle as he tugged at my hand.
"Mmmm, No." I said slapping away his hand. Twirling a strand of Pearl's hair in my fingers, I inhaled her scent. She smelled like roses. It was quite calming.
I was stuck in my thoughts and could hear them talking but did not bother with anything but how sweet Pearl's voice sounded. [Mmm. her voice is so sweet.]
All of a sudden, my peaceful state was disturbed by Arthur's annoying shout and a pull at my legs, "Get off of her, David!"
"No!" I shouted back, kicking at his hands with my free leg. The idiot put up a big fight, but after I kicked him in the stomach, he gave up trying and layed down on the carpeted floor.
Wrapping my arms around her waist, I whined, "Pearl~ He's being mean~"
"H-how is that?" she asked confusion present in her voice.
"He's trying to separate me from you~" I said looking up to get a look at her reaction. She looked adorable with her full face flushed.
"Well, David! I honestly think that you shouldn't disturb your wife who is probably already angry with you." Arthur said.
"I'm not disturbing her..." I said glaring at Arthur, this guy was starting to get on my nerves. "R-right, Pearl?" I asked looking over at her with a pitiful expression.
I could tell just by looking at her expression that she didn't expect me to ask her. "Of course not, but David how long has it been since you woke up today?" I could see the worry present in her eyes as she spoke.
"Oh, I woke up a few hours ago." I answered, looking up at her cutely.
"Well.. have you eaten since you woke up?" she asked.
"No." I said. Wanting to make it look like I was innocent, I touched my nose with hers, making it look to her as if I was just giving half of my attention.
"Huh?! Arthur, didn't you make him eat?" she scolded the man still lying on the floor. I liked the fact that she didn't even stop for a second to think about who she should scold.
Arthur said something, and of course, I didn't pay attention to what he said, but the second he caught hold of the back of my collar, it was already too late.
"Gah!" I yelled as I fell to the ground. This guy was so gonna pay later.
"Y-you okay, David?" Pearl asked, her voice laced with worry.
"Mhm!" I hummed up at her with a cheerful smile. I stood up, throwing a glare at Arthur who just smirked back, and was about to go back to snuggling next to her, when she said,
"Why don't you go to the kitchen and get something to eat?"
I looked at her for a few seconds, contemplating if I could leave her alone with that idiot Arthur. But then again, if I was fast, I could be back in about two minutes with the food and just eat here.
"Okay, I'll be right back!" I said and ran to the kitchen. Running in, I took a look around and grabbed a plate of dumplings from the counter, and ran back to the lounge.
By the time I got back, Arthur had already started explaining, so I just sat beside Pearl and hugged her from the side, trying not to disturb them.
