Easy Day

Ivy yawns, laying her head on Jacksons shoulder as Teddy talks about a patient, "When a heart wasn't available, I opted to continue with Roy Henleys lung trabsplant..."

"Its all in your head," April whispers past Ivy to Jackson.

"My name isn't on the O.R. board. I checked the schedule. Nobody wants to work with me, cause I'm not on anybodys service," he disagrees.

"Its a simple oversight, okay? Just ask around," Ivy suggests.

He looks down at her, "Do you know how many things I've screwed up in the last month?"

Ivy rolls her eyes, "Yes, because I heard about every single one of them."

"Stop it. I'm serious. Just ask around and get on someone's service and get back to work," Meredith commanded as Alex came in.

Ivy catches a whiff of Alex and gags, "You smell like you are purely booze. Dear God take my sense of smell away now."

"I want the weekend you had," Jackson looks back at him.

Ivy slaps his arm as Alex responds, "What happens in Vegas, you know? Hey, who's Stark? I'm supposed to be on Starks service today."

April looks back, "Oh, me, too. Hes the new peds attending, since Robbins left."

Alex mumbles, "Crap. I can't handle a bunch of sick kids today. I can't do it."

"So was it a bachelor party or-" April is cut off by Meredith.

"-Shh. They're talking about Cristina," Ivy sees Jackson smirk at April's stumbling.

"It became clear to Dr. Yang that they were gonna need to switch modalities. The patient was put on ecmo..." Teddy explained.

Some doctor up front asks, "And why did Dr. Yang opt to use the intra-aortic balloon pump over an r-vad?"

Teddy stumbles a little, "I, um, I can't answer for Dr. Yang."

"And why isn't she here?"

Teddy looks to Owen, "She, um, she quit. She left the program."

Mark stands up, "I'm sorry. What? She what?"

"Dr. Yang cleared the balloon pump with Dr. McQueen who agreed that it was the best-" Teddy is interrupted by Mark.

"Go back. Go back. Yang quit the program?"

Ivy rubs her hand over her face, "Seriously? I've never been happier that I'm not actually related to him because his blond is showing."

Her friends surrounding her have to stifle their laughter as Derek questions Mark, "Yeah, where have you been?"

"Well, that's the first I've heard of it. Hunt, what the hell happened?" Mark turned to Owen.

"She told the chief she quit," Mark then turns to the chief, who was taking a phone call.

Teddy tries to redirect the conversation, "If we could just finish the presentation, then-"

Unfortunately for Ivy, Derek is the next one with a question, "I have a question. Can you tell us about your decision to put Dr. Yang in charge of this patient?"

"Can I have one brother not being annoying today? Is that to much to ask?"

"Sorry?" Teddy asks.

"But she didn't quit, quit, right? Grey. You're joined at the hip. What'd she say?" Mark doesn't give up.

Everyone turns to look at Meredith, "Uh, she hasn't spoken to me about it."

Mark then looks to Ivy, "Ivy-"

"No, sit down and let Dr. Altman finish her presentation," she points at Mark, then gestures for him to sit down.

"Does Torres know anything about this? I'm calling Torres," he finally sits down.

Ivy looks at Jackson, "How good are you at faking injuries so I can get out of this?"

He shakes his head and focuses back on Teddy, "Can we please just-"

Derek doesn't sit quietly, "Look, I guess I'm asking you, why did you choose to put Dr. Yang under so much pressure that day?"

"I didn't. I intended the opposite. I gave her a simple pre-op checklist on a stable patient," Teddy lists.

"Stable patient? The patient almost died twice," Derek doesn't stop.

Meredith whispers in Ivys ear, "You're related to that."

"Yeah, I didn't have a choice. You choose to marry him."

"I couldn't have seen that coming. I'm sorry. Is this a, uh, a patient presentation or a postmortem on Dr. Yang?" Teddy questions.

"Well, you saved the patient," Derek answers.

Ivy sighs, "Shoot me now."

The former Mercy Westers make their way to the nurses desk with Lexie hanging out.

"Grey, who are you with today?" Jackson asks.

"Shepherd."

Jackson slams his fist on the desk, "Damn it. I've already blown it with Shepherd. I can't ask him. Uh... Bailey. I haven't blown it with her yet."

Ivy explains to Lexie, "He thinks no one wants to work with him."

She looks back down at her chart, "Are they saying that or are you saying that?"

A nurse hands April a chart, "Who are you with again?"

"Karev. Uh, I mean Stark," she says almost immediately.

Jackson teases her, "No, you meant Karev. And you don't want to go there."

Ivy lays her head on the desk, "You don't know where I'm going."

"Hes right. You don't want to go there," Lexie agrees.

"I'm not- I'm not going anywhere," April weakly defends.

"Hes not the guy for you. Okay? Trust me and don't be paranoid. Trust me on that, too," Lexie advises.

As she walks away, Jackson watches her leave, "Oh, but it's okay for you to go there?"

"I'm a guy, I live there."

Ivy and April share eye rolls as the Ivg mumbles, "Pig."

"Who are you with?"

"Derek. I believe his words were, baby sis, it's been a while since you were on my service," Ivy smiles.

He walks away, "I got to find Bailey."

Lexie and Ivy talk with Derek, "I don't understand, we're on your service."

"You requested me," Ivy adds.
