After Storm

Ivy and Jackson are laying together when Owen comes into their little area, "Hey, we need a board meeting."

"About the E.R. and the mess it is?" Ivy asks.

"Yeah, Avery, you good?" Owen looks at Jackson.

"Never been better," Jackson smiles.

As Owen leaves, Ivy sits up, "I want to wait to tell people until we tell your mother. About the engagement and the pregnancy. Even though April already knows about the baby."

Jackson nods, "Yeah, okay. Wait, how does April know?"

Ivy tells him, "She took my blood to run the test. Don't worry, she promised not to tell anyone as long as I help her plan her wedding. Which I was going to do anyways. I'm going to head to the board meeting, you should get a shirt on then join us."

"You love me with my shirt off."

"I think that's obvious but we need to be professional, so, hurry up."

The board plus Bailey and the new baby are in Meredith's hospital room as Ivy holds little Derek Bailey and Cristina takes pictures. Owen speaks up from behind them, "Okay, we should get started. Um, Bailey, we have some board business that we need to disc-"

"I'm not going anywhere. Me and this baby got Bailey business to discuss. Don't we? Yes, Mr. Derek Bailey Shepherd. Yes, we do," Bailey says, taking the baby from a pouting Ivy and sitting down.

"What does Zola think of him?" Ivy asks her brother.

"Oh, she wants to take him to day care for show and tell," Meredith laughs.

"Where's Richard?" Derek asks.

Owen shakes his head, "I paged all the board members."

Derek looks at Ivy, "Well, Avery should be here, too."

Ivy smiles, "Yes, well, the idiot was being a hero last night and dislocated his shoulder saving a little girl from the bus crash."

Meredith grabs Ivys hand, "What bus crash?"

"She had a baby. She doesn't know things," Cristina reminds the group, causing Ivy to smile slightly and put a hand on her stomach where little baby Avery was growing.

"So tell me."

Ivy sighs, "A church was evacuating some people, and their bus overturned. There was a little girl trapped and Jackson played hero. Causing me to almost have a freakin heartattack."

Owen speaks up, "Good news is, everyone survived, and there are no major injuries."

"And the bad news?"

Ivy answers, "Everything else. The blood bank is flooded, and the E.R. is a mess."

Derek looks between Owen and Ivy, "So we need to close the E.R.?"

Owen doesn't really answer his question, "We're dangerously low on meds. Personnel can't make it in due to the flooding."

Cristina says, "So we need to close the E.R."

"Can we do that?" Arizona and Meredith ask.

"You are the board. I am telling you that E.R. cannot open today," Owen tells them, Ivy nodding in agreement.

"What do we need? I mean, I can try to coordinate with our suppliers. I had a baby. I'm not dead," Meredith says.

Ivy answers, "If they have it, we want it."

Owen adds, "In the meantime, let's make sure that our inpatients are taken care of and discharge who we can."

"Like me."

Derek shoots that idea down quick, "No, you just had a major abdominal surgery. You're gonna stay right here."

Jackson makes his way into the room and goes to stand behind Ivy, "All right, airports just reopened. I just put Dr. Boswell in a cab."

Cristina asks, "Whos Dr. Boswell?"

"Shes the woman Arizona slept with last night," Callie tells them before leaving the room.

Ivy feels Jacksons arm wrap around her waist as she turns to glare at Arizona. Bailey stands up and hands the baby to Ivy, "Well, Mr. Derek Bailey would like some more Aunt Ivy time. Isn't that right?"

"Oh, you're so cute," Ivy focuses on the baby.

Jackson admires her as she walks around, rocking the baby. He can just imagine her with their baby in a few short months. He still couldn't believe that he was gonna be a dad and that he's going to be lucky enough to spend the rest of his life with Ivy Shepherd.

Owen, Jackson, and Ivy make their way out to the ambulance bay, "What are you doing? We're closed to incoming traumas, guys," Jackson tells the interns and April.

"Tell that to them. There was a mudslide near Madrona. A bunch of cops and firefighters got hurt doing evacuations. There are also a bunch of civilian casualties as well," April tells them.

"What about Seattle Pres?"

Ivy shakes her head, "They're worse off than we are. We're gonna have to take them."

Jackson nods, "All right, let's do it. Help me get this sling off."

Owen turns to talk to the interns as Ivy helps Jackson, "Don't reinjure yourself. I don't want to worry about that right now."

"I promise. I'll be careful."

They quickly run to the ambulances and start getting patients into the E.R.

Ivy finds Owen, "Hey, mayor is on the phone, he wants to know about casualties from the mudslide. I told him it was to soon to tell but he wants to hear from you."

Owen nods, "Okay."

She quickly goes and finds Jackson working on a patient, "And I'm walking toward the car, and suddenly the hillside just goes...and I'm falling. I see my squad car coming down on top of me, so I managed to roll out of the way, but my...my leg was caught under it. Can you salvage it?"

"I think so. I'll have Dr. Shepherd here take a look at it while I take a look at that nasty laceration on your neck. It's a lot of embedded debris," Jackson tells her.

Ivy starts looking at the leg as the patient spots someone, "Hey, Tilden? Everyone make it out of the mud?"

He tells her, "Everyone's accounted for except Lauenstein, Phil G., and... Brian."
