stepping inside the attending's lounge finding Allison to put on her jacket, getting ready to leave the hospital. Allison nodded at her best friend, for him to continue. "I have a Hippocampectomy and I have to lecture the residents about it."
"And you want me to do it?" Allison asked, getting ready to take off her jacket and back into her scrubs.
"No, no." Derek spoke before she changed into her scrubs, "I need you to pick up my kids from daycare."
"Derek, I could—"
"No, I told Hunt I'm going to do it, and you already pulled an overnight shift yesterday." Derek looked at her.
"Okay." Allison nodded, "You so owe me."
Allison made her way to the daycare, the nurse gave Zola and Bailey to the neurosurgeon since they got a list of people the daycare should trust with the doctor's list and Allison was on Meredith and Derek's list.
"Hey, Zozo." Allison greeted her with a small smile, "Your dad and mom are busy tonight so you're going to stay with Aunt Allie, is that okay with you?"
Zola looked up at her aunt and slightly nodded, before greeting her with a hug. Zola later went on to grab her stuff from her assigned cubby before making her way to Allison. The nurse handed off Bailey to Allison with his baby bag and stroller. The Avery doctor thanked the nurse, before putting Bailey in the stroller and held out her hand for Zola to take.
Once Allison exited the hospital, she made sure the kids were safely seated inside the car. She opened her car door and slid inside the driver seat. Putting the key inside the engine, she quickly turned her head to make sure they were all buckled up before reversing the car, getting out of the parking lot, before she drove the car home.
"Okay, Zozo, we're here." Allison informed the girl, as she opened her apartment door, Zola entering first. Zola politely put her bag on the coach while Allison lifted Bailey—who was now widely awake. "So, luckily your dad told me he made sure you guys were cleaned and bathed in the morning, so all we have to do is change."
Zola nodded, pointing to her bag, "Aunt Allie."
Allison walked over to her bag and helped her take out her clothes out of the bag. The two girls, Bailey on Allison's hip made their way to the bedroom so Zola could change.
Once Zola was done, Allison filled up a glass of milk which Zola gladly drank. Allison looked at the time and decided it was time for bed for the eldest Shepherd.
Zola fell asleep in their guest room, meanwhile Bailey was wide awake causing Allison to put him on the baby carrier while she cleaned up the apartment.
The sound of keys dangling and the door closing brought Allison out of her trance with the baby. Allison heard Jackson drop his keys to the bowl by the door. Jackson appeared by the doorway, and raised a brow at Allison.
"W-What?" He asked, glancing at Bailey.
"Derek and Meredith are working the night shift, he asked and I said yes." Allison explained to her husband, "Zola fell asleep a couple of minutes ago, and he's hardly giving in."
Jackson walked over to her and kissed her cheek, before taking a hold of Bailey. "I can cook dinner if you want, babe."
Allison shook her head, glancing at her husband with Bailey, "I already ordered chinese."
"I'm going to take a shower." Jackson nodded, handing Bailey back to her. Allison nodded, bouncing Bailey on her hip.
Some time later, Bailey managed to sleep. Allison didn't have a crib so she had to use his stroller for him to sleep on. Fortunately, the stroller was one of those were the babies would be comfortable sleeping on.
The food arrived minutes after Allison put Bailey to sleep. The Avery's talked about their day, which is why Jackson told Allison about the girl that came to the E.R. because a dog bit her. The couple's daughter was deaf and so was the mother and once Jackson offered to fix her hearing, the mother grew mad.
"And it's not like I'm insensitive to deaf culture or anything. I just don't—I don't get how, as parents, you don't want your kid to experience hearing, if they could." Jackson continued on. He glanced at his wife, who has been awfully quiet about the subject, "What? You disagree?"
"They're her parents, Jackson, not us." Allison reminded him, before taking a bite of her food.
"Yeah, well, if that was our kid, she'd be fitted for an implant three years ago." Jackson dismissed, taking a bite of his food.
Allison didn't disagree with him, but she saw the parents disagreements and the dangers that could be brought upon the implant surgery. She also noticed the parents beliefs.
"Jackson, what if I disagreed?" Allison asked, she didn't but would Jackson just brush off her belief if she did.
"So, you disagree?" Jackson asked.
"No." Allison shook her head, "But even if I did, would you hear me out or would you brush me off?"
Jackson put his hand on the table, and reached for Allison's, "Babe, of course I would hear you out. We would talk about it together."
Allison nodded, "Either way, we aren't her parents so we should drop this."
Before the couple could discuss it any further, the sound of crying from the baby monitor caused Allison to lift herself up from her chair and walked to pick up Bailey before he could wake Zola up.

The news of Cristina Yang losing Harper Avery flooded throughout the hospital. To say Allison was mad was an understatement—she was an Avery by association and she knew it wasn't her fault Cristina lost but she is an Avery.
Derek and Allison walked in side by side towards the main lobby. Allison had a tablet in her hands, "Amelia is back in Seattle and you happily accepted her to babysit your kids?"
"She's engaged, too." Derek revealed, "She wanted to know about married life, and she offered."
Allison chuckled, "Okay, so I have surgery later today meaning you would have to fill me in with the research."
Derek nodded, "Thanks by the way for taking the kids the other night. Zola loved spending time with you."
"My favorite and only niece." Allison joked. Although their kids weren't her nephew or niece by blood, she would always refer to them as nephew and niece. The two best friends made it down the stairs as Allison held the tablet out to the nurse.
