his friend stopped him

"you?" Nick asked

"yes, it's me" his friend said

he took Nick with him to a quiet place to talk

"are you avoiding Joan" his friend asked

"why do you think so" Nick said

" you have not gone to see her ever since you came from home and Everytime she comes to look for you, you ask them to tell her you're not around, and I have seen you following her just like today. what happened" his friend said

"nothing happened" Nick insisted

his friend watched him and just when he was about to leave he said something that made Nick stopped

"there's no sense in you not talking to her, if you're avoiding her, then I think you should stop following her. right now you saw her almost fell, if you were closer to her then you could have protected her. there are going to be many instances where she will get hurt, will you just watch from afar and let it happen to her, if I was her I will never forgive you. Nick stop being childish, you know you can't stay away from her, you will end up hurting the most, don't make Joan forget you and don't blame her if she does, there are guys like Callum who wants your position in Joan's life and you just made it easier for them...

a little advice, tell her before it's too late" he said and tapped on Nick's shoulder as he gave the advice and he left Nick there thinking, he left for Joan's house and his friend was right

he is selfish, when it comes to Joan he couldn't let someone take his position, he knocked on Joan's door and he didn't get response.

his friend was right living without her was worse enough, watching her without being a part was torture and he can't do that again

he kept on knocking but no response came.
