After our dreaded HR meeting with our HR manager, Gladys, and Donovan, I’m proud of myself that I made it through without going through another anxiety attack. 


As expected, Glady’s upper lip curled in disapproval that the CEO of the company was dating a lowly account manager. She also said that if there was any evidence that I received any bonus or benefit from dating Donovan, we’d be under an interval review.


Of course, I wouldn’t use Donovan like that, but I could see why she’d say that because Donovan is the type of guy to dote on the people he loves.


Yet, she was more concerned about any harassment I’d receive now that everyone knows I’m not a human, but a Lycan.


As we step out of the door of the HR office, Donovan embraces me, and although I still think it’s awkward since we’re at work, I sink into his solid, warm embrace. The soft silk of his tie brushes against my cheek and his alpha pheromones tickle my nose.
